    Fighting for Australia? What has Australia become? With over a million migrants coming into Australia in the last 12 months, who or what are the ADFs fighting for? Why fight for migrants who get priority 'everything' over 4th & 5th generation Australians, migrants that want it all and refuse to integrate and become Australians? Round them up and put them in the front line; not unlike what the British did to Australians in WWI & WWII. Cheers from Sydney.

    I tried to join. A couple months ago had my final defense interview, which I aced. However, the sergeant that yells at recruits for a living, decided to refuse my application for presebting myself as a rather work-focused person (over being people-focused) which is what's expected for technician role, as well as yelled at me during the interview. He gave an example that due to that, I would not help a comrade that theoretically would be dying next to me.

      @dakkossman2063 27 дней назад +8

      @eromnaliuqyaj6288 well, it's not even about getting yelled at. It's about getting rejected at the very last stage for a petty reason.
      Alright, let's say being more work-focused is bad. All people have to be the leaders and talk left-right. At least deny my application not after months of going through multiple stages. By that time, I had a few phone calls and interviews. That was the very last stage, excluding med and fitness test
      However, my experience seem to be rather an exception. I genuinly believe that I got unlucky with the interviewer.
      Spent a lot of time preparing for the interviews, including reading the experiences of others. Mine was the most weird and toxic

    Labor has spent the last 15 years attacking Australian culture. So now, a large number of young Australians feel Australia isn’t worth defending.
    Add to that widespread mistrust of senior leadership within defence. Specifically at unit level. Within army, only 30% think senior defence leadership is performing well. Frankly, I’m amazed it’s that high!
    Overall ADF is in the hurt locker. A combination of woke agendas, reduced training funding and a frankly incoherent government defence policy has caused huge damage.

    If the Government truly wants the ADF to be bigger and better they need to start from the top down. Remove the leaders who are only there because of their mates not because of their skills and experiences. Cut back on the fat the rest will follow. I know a lot of Veterans who have served or are still serving along with many young people who would serve if it wasn't as disorganized and toxic at the top as it is right now. The Media also need to play their part and not be so critical of every little rock overturned by a serving member. People have failures we are all human but if our Military is ti become a true fighting force able to defend our Nation then we need to get it cleaned up.

    They got rid of MSBS retention bonuses for members who joined after October 2005. Very poor move from the ADF.
    All those people like me missed out who joined from 2005-2018 did not qualify for the new retention bonus. Funny because those people today would be the NCO component of the military today in 2024.
    I served from 2012-2021 and left as a CPL.
