Alyson Court, Claire's actress, is also known for voicing Jubilee in the X-Men animated series, Lydia Deetz in the Beetlejuice animated series, and for any Canadians old enough to remember, she was the lead star of the Big Comfy Couch!
Still baffles me that the original RPD didn’t have a bathroom. It was both a museum and a police station and no one thought to install a bathroom glad the remake fixed it lol
Said immediately after throwing that dude through a window. In the 90’s you could defenestrate a guy, and walk off bleeding and no one would bat an eyelash lol
The game could fit in just one disc. There was an error regarding the audio files when they were burning the game into the discs and they simple decided to separated the game into two discs because it was a more cheaper solution. You can confirm this by simple downloading the ISO files and seeing that they are around 300 MBs each.
Resident Evil 2 was my introduction to the series. Unfortunately, I only had the Leon disc, so I was missing half of the experience. Even then, still an absolute turning point in my gaming life. Then, I did something mean. I convinced my stepbrother to play it, and didn't say a word when he entered the interrogation room. 😂 He jumped so bad when the Licker crashed through the mirror. I laughed until it hurt. Good times. 13:28 As a gun person, it always makes me chuckle that Leon stuck with an H&K VP-70 over the Browning Hi-Power he had in the glove box. It takes two seconds of googling the VP-70 to learn that its trigger is notoriously awful, while the HP has a light, crisp single-action trigger.
This is where I got my start I played re2 before the first one then I played the original then 3 I even had survivor lol and I think it was called Gaiden on my gbc
Resident Evil 2 is iconic, in a more pragmatic angle it's definitely the best of the original trilogy even thought my bias makes me lean for 3 quite a bit. The zapping system felt like them acknowledging that they should've involved all 4 main STARS characters in the both Jill and Chris' campaigns and that they could've tried to give a bit more variety on how Jill and Chris go around the mansion but I can't blame RE1 for being janky in some aspects since it literally was the creation of the franchise as a whole and it didn't have a frame of reference to go from. As you said, the RPD is one of the most iconic locations for the games along with the Spencer Mansion from RE1, the Salazar castle from RE4 and the Bakers' home from RE7. I think it does a great job at encapsulating just how quickly things switched up for people since officers were preparing Leon's welcome party and then in what probably took less than 2 days were all eaten alive and were now roaming the station as undead abominations but I think Outbreak will make the point for me once you reach that game. As for the remake, I'm 50/50 on which one you should play. If fixed camera angles aren't for you but you want to get the RE2 experience you could go for it though I'll say I really don't enjoy what they did to Ada's character, meanwhile RE2 gives you a more complete experience by having the zapping system function as intended making the replayability on the game go up by quite a bit plus I'm still a huge fan of fixed camera angles. Something about the old style makes me quite happy
I remember playing the demo of resident evil 2 in may 1998, loved it so went out and brought re 1, still remember reading, july 1998, in re 1 and thinking omg thats 2 months away haha
This is so much better than remake of it. Maybe I’m just biased but this is my favorite one besides the original RE4 the music the gameplay story is top notch after all these years the gameplay the cinematic angles it all just feels right
Still my favourite of the series, even with its great remake i find myself going back to play this gem. Even its soundtrack was top tier (who doesn't love the save room and lobby theme), it was so atmospheric that it holds up today. Really was a amazing zombie game. The characters was great too, i admit i think this was peak Leon, I'm not a fan of where RE as a series went from 4 onwards, turned into action games, moved away from zombies, the whole identity just changed and it wasn't my thing so this leon is peak for me. Claire was a good edition and i enjoy her return in CV too.
Nice video. I personally find the d-pad to be more precise with tank controls than the analog sticks, and the Dreamcast and Japanese Sourcenext PC version are the only ones to have hard mode, and if you've seen hard mode, its absolutely brutal lmao.
@@Paraspectre Honestly recommend you try it out. I've tried using analog sticks and just doesn't work for me. I only use analog sticks for tank controls in RE 4 since it's over the shoulder

Here’s an opinion I never see get voiced, ever.. but the Japanese release cover of RE2 is the far superior cover and I’m glad America is the only country to have the English version, cause it sucks. The whole reason I asked some strangers outside Blockbusters to buy the RE2 game me, cash upfront, was because of that front cover, little did I know it would go on to be my most favourite game + cover of a game in the history of ever. Ever.
Haha that’s fair. It is a great cover. I’m just partial to the English one because it WAS the cover that got me to try out the series in the first place.
Oddly mi first resident evil game was for PC and it was an instant hit for me, I even beg mi parents to buy a PlayStation so I can play the other games. By the way the PC version has an extra bonus mode but I don't remember the name of it all I can remember it's that you can play as Chris.
Once I heard from a Middle Eastern religious man that every channel has a Denis. I am afraid that you also have one. However, that's a positive thing because due to some religious magic channels, pop off if they have a regular viewer called Denis ❤
Good video except for one important oversight. You left out the importance of playing the scenarios in the right order in order to get the complete, original story.
@@Paraspectre Very true. Having the options of varying the gameplay is a plus but it comes at the cost of a less comprehensive story. Playing the game in the stories intended order has the advantage of letting a gamer change up the scenario order to get all the possible variations while having a good handle on what the game creators, especially Shinji Mikami and Noboru Sugimura had in mind.
The problem is so many zoomers started with Resident Evil 4 on the gamecube or Ps2 back in the day. Had 5 and 6, so there's so many dumb fans that think action horror is the franchise. It's the main reason when the trailer dropped for Resident Evil 7, so many zoomers were like, what it this? Saw th3 Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 remakes, alot of young Resi fans were like, why is my inventory so limited, why can't I kick zombies, why are monsters not dropping loot.😂
"A city crawling with confusion?" Hmm... Looks like someone went crazy with spamming confuse ray all over the place :3 In all seriousness, I never got to play this game for two reasons: I never owned a PS1 due to financial issues and I was a scaredy cat during my youth. The name Resident Evil becomes meaningless or abstract as soon as the first game ends. I choose to believe it refers to the evil that is resident all around us.
The two disks was a mistake. It could have fit onto one disk. Surprised you didn’t find that out with ALLL the info about it. And you said it’s about the zapping system. Lie #1. What else is there?
Pretty sure I just said the developers didn’t originally plan to have it on two discs 🤷🏻♂️ The reason wasn’t because of the zapping system and I didn’t say it was, but it’s what they went with after the mistake. I got that from ALLL the info about it.
Hmm... it's not the pokemon TCG... but parasect is a zombie bug... hmmm... I'll allow it, but you're on thin ice, buster. At some point, you better cover some zombifying mushrooms. or a japanese game about evil bugs. Evil zombie bugs? Actually, isn't there some b or c grade video game about being the immortal cameraman for a series of highly killable and replaceable japanese reporter women filming monsters?
When Leon says: head to the police station it will be a lot safer. It’s one the biggest lies in gaming history 😂
Technically it's not a lie, since he didn't know at the time.

My personal favorite RE of all time.
I only played resident evil 2 and 3 when I was only 8 years old I loved it as a kid and I love it still today
I'm personally looking forward to a video on some of the spinoffs for this series.
And there sure are plenty of them
Keep the RE content coming, brother

if i'd have to answer immediately which RE is the best, i'd say 2
