- Mark Starts Over & Makes Omni Man WORSE... | Invincible REBOOT Explained #invincible #comics #shorts In Invincible’s Reboot Art after Mark tells his father to give up on conquering the planet Mark tells Nolan everything that’s going to happen next, from his explanation of the Viltrumite Takeover, and even their fight with eachother and how eventually they came together to fight against the Viltrum empire. Mark tells Nolan that he’s admitted to him how much he actually loves Mark and his mom, and that he doesn’t know what’s going through Nolan’s head but he REALLY doesn’t want to fight again, and begs to just keep talking this over without any violence. Omni Man punches Mark across the face so hard that one of his lenses completely breaks off, as he says you CAN’T defy the Viltrum Empire, and menacingly floats behind Mark, before Mark tells Nolan that he’s defying him RIGHT NOW. Nolan proceeds to tell Mark that his hypothetical situation was creative, and he doesn’t know HOW Mark found out about everything, but this planet’s fate is already sealed. Mark one last time, screams at his father that he knows he won’t carry out his mission and that he’ll abandon earth and do the right thing, but his father sends him FLYING with a strong backhand saying I AM NO TRAITOR, as Nolan grabs him by the face and tries to slam him into a building, but Mark causes them to miss it as he tells his dad that he wants to go back to talking, but the hits don’t stop coming, and things only get WORSE.

He hadn't turned traitor at that point so he's just talking to a wall basically
Mark forgetting why Nolan betrayed the empire in the first place. Seeing his son bloodied to near death by his own hands, it messed with his head and made him think for a while before he was ready to switch sides, before that he was 100% the empire. Kinda weird Mark missed that.

I think the point is that Nolan had betrayed the empire long before that. When he started growing true feelings for Debbie, and just in general when he started caring about the people on the planet like the Guardians. Who he considered friends. Heck, even the way he trained Mark could be seen as completely stupid via the empires standards after he backed off from giving him one serious punch. Seeing his bloodied son was just the final straw.
Him killing them and trying to indoctrinate Mark into the cause was just his way of coping with his conflicted confusion. I think Mark was just hoping that he could still appeal to that side of his father, without realizing that doubling down and acting before thinking during a stressful moment may as well be Omnimans thing.
@@cantmakeacreativename2072 I think everything he did, both killing the Guardians and his fight with Mark, and particularly the speech he gave to Mark, were him trying to convince *himself* he was still that way. That if he just got it into gear, all his Viltrumite instincts would come to the fore and he'd be who he thought he still was.
But it didn't. Because Nolan the family man, Nolan the devoted husband, wasn't a mask. No matter how much he tried to make himself believe it was.

Invincible should have explained more about what he knows about the Viltrumites like Thragg and Conquest, Omni-Man's books, and other things he couldn't have made up
What I didn't like about this arc is that by this point Nolan had been crowned the new ruler. There's no way Mark didnt know that they were both descendants of Argall. Just mentioning that would have stopped this fight from happening.
I like the detail of Mark dodging the buildings mid fight from previous experiences on collateral damages from this very same fight before

Would've been cool to see Mark Prime, after everything that happened in the invincible comic, go through this storyline.
Main problem is the reason Nolan gives up is because of the emotional fight.
Talking to him isn't going to do that. The fight was Omni-Man's attempt to forcibly show him why resistance is futile, just like how Anissa does when she arrives and ends up fighting him.
It's his responses to Nolan's semi-rhetorical questions that gets him to give up.
I haven't read the comics but wouldn't it be better if he just told Nolen that they're both royalty. They probably could convince most of the Viltrum army to side with them instead of Thragg.

Completely unrelated, but the art of this reboot arc is some of the best in the entire series, top to bottom. Would've loved to see Ottley use that rougher and more angular style afterwards!

Where in the timeline does Mark come from for this? I think it’d be kinda neat to show a Mark who can casually kill the strongest Viltrumites go up against Early Nolan. Just to see how they react to each other.

I would have been training so hard. Then, every so often spar omni-man just to see where my level was until I was strong enough to throw hands with him. At the very least be able to not get hurt as bad and even do some damage to him

So the only way that this works is Nolen comes to this on his own. Without his actually actions to grow past something he holds so deal it breeds the opposite. You know it's crazy I know I have to blame the writers but I'm going to focus on the characters, if he's really from the future he could have avoided this whole thing just by telling his father that the vulture mites betrayed him, and letting him know that he's the real royalty and that the other one escaped and is the head of the Galactic Empire right there that will get his brain thinking and it should lessen the possibilities of having to fight them again instead of telling them exactly the opposite of what voucher mites believe that's way harder
The viltrumites didn't betray him, tho. They were following their laws. NOLAN was technically the betrayer since he abandoned his duties and actively resisted the arrest. At this point, if Nolan was told he was almost executed for betraying the empire, then he would have just said something along the lines of "I got what u deserved"

@@GXilla wrong again. The death of Argall wasn't some mass planned attack. It was done by one person and one person only. Thaedus did it, and that's it. The Viltrumites were all greif stricken by Argall, who was the most beloved emperor they've ever had.
