In Invincible after most of the series has gone by we see as Mark goes to a planet alongside his brother Oliver to look for one of their friends, and Mark accidentally falls into the center of the planet and finds an ancient being that once traveled through the universe and even previously tangled with Tech Jacket in a story that we can tell at another time, but when Mark falls into this infinitely dark space he eventually comes across a being of pure blue light made of hundreds of small tentacles or strings, that seemed to come out of the ground and flow on forever beyond mark’s scope of vision. As the light gets brighter this creature gets closer and closer to mark, as the strands start to weave around him and surround him until he can no longer breathe, and in that moment when it feels like everything has come to an end, Mark hears a knock at a door, and looks up to realize that for some reason he’s sitting on the toilet in his childhood home taking a poop and reading Science Dog, as his mom tells Mark to hurry up and get ready for school, and it seems like for Some reason Mark has been sent ALL THE WAY BACK to the very beginning of the story, as Invincible gets its REBOOT ARC, and Mark Grayson with all of the experience and intelligence of what he’s learned from surviving the series, gets another chance at the perfect life, but now it’s time to figure out if Mark wants to change things, or let things go exactly as they did before to protect the future timeline.

I hope they remove this from the animation, before this mark had been away for varying periods of time which built the theme of that being hard on his loved ones but this story line just seemed to be reusing the same “arc” of mark missing things due to his heroics. It just felt like they needed a reason to do a time skip so they had a tentacle monster send mark back in time.
