Dave is joking. In interviews he said that he smoked weed during part of highschool and it got him in trouble. He says he didn't use drugs after that - not even during the Nirvana years. He's even against drug use.

I realize I'm an old crusty dude but I think Dave Grohl is one of the classiest humans on the planet. He displays genuine care about his fans and bandmates. His responses to reasonable questions are thoughtful without being pretentious. And he seems to afford respect to the people around him no matter who they are. That's what decency looks like.

I think dave, and krist novacellic are funny, humble, smart talented guys...they seem like someone you would hang out with , be friends with .....would love to see more behind the scene videos....heart breaking the path kurt went down...I think the drugs clouded him, but he could not have found better guys to write and play magic with and you can tell they truly care..not just faking it
