Great work. Vw wouldnt touch that because it couldn't be repaired by spinning on a filter. What you guys do is true mechanics. Brilliant, keep it up. Your apprentices are very lucky to work with you guys👍👍
Hello. are any additional special tools needed? is it necessary to adjust the tooth clearance when replacing the bearings? what should be the play between the teeth? I can cover up. or maybe the way with a piece of paper is enough? I have a problem because it hums from 60km / h and there is a radial play on the left joint that goes into diff. (on the bearing in the middle) will the replacement of the bearings help? . I have a lot of background and skills, but I'm a bit afraid 😁
Do you know the size of the bearings?
Is this gen 4 haldex? Tnx
Rubbish after service from VW if they don't sell spares, good job your there to help 👍
I may need mine rebuild I hear clunking
Hey I’ve been looking like crazy for those bearing I got my rear differential broken down but I can find a place to buy this bearings I have a vw mk5 r32 2008 anyone can help please
What happened to your hands in second clip ????
AWESOME!! I just purchased a used 2017 Alltrack and was on the VWVortex site and discovered a bunch of people with this issue, I’m experiencing the soft grinding sound that gets louder when I decelerate on my passenger side (U.S model). I’m scheduled to visit my local VW dealership on Monday as the car is a CPO. I know their gonna try to give me the run around (breaks, rotors, diff fluid change etc…) I’m gonna show them this video now 👍
I got a 2015 Audi S3 and has a noise like you made. I changed my wheel bearings and rotors only to find out it's a bearing on the diff. So far, I've had no luck finding anyone that rebuilds these rear diffs. All shops say they need to replace the whole carrier assembly. I have not seen any schematics to find the bearing part number
Nice win on that carrier bearing, saved a ton of money.
Noice fix. The dealers only want to replace today as they make more money and don't have to warranty the work if the part fails.
I enjoyed the run through. I Hope your hands healed up quickly after surgery without complication. 🙏
I learned a lot from your video👍
2017 Golf Alltrack wagon -- same thing. Thanks for the super video -- it helped me decide to let my local mechanic swap out the diff instead of doing it myself.
Supar Job
Hello, thanks really for this video, I have to do the same on haldex 5 for octavia scout , but I don't find any video to remove the haldex from the car (there are 2 bolts with access by the top so it seems mandatory to remove rear axle? And for the rebuild after changes of bearings is there any setting/measure to do ? thanks a lot for your help
Hola reparan piezas si se la enviamos?
Great video!
Hey. I have a 2016 alltrack with probably the same issues.
