Nice project and result. Eucalyptus is used to pack machinery and ship overseas. I got enough in different sizes to last for years from a construction site I worked at. Its beautiful, hard wood, but splits kind of easy. Thanks.

It's been a long week waiting for this video but well worth it. I am only a D.I.Y person and I'm afraid me and wood don't get on too well. I have a table saw and mitre saw but a planer would be handy. I get real pleasure out of watching gifted people work with wood and your videos make feel I could do it, so thank you very much. If God intended for us to use the metric system … there would have only been 10 disciples!*😉 The nicest thing about the metric system is that you don’t have to guess which line on your tape measure is 18-and-13/32nds inches. If I’m going to make something from a pattern/instructions that has both metric and imperial measurements, and the imperial measurements call for those tiny kinds of measurements, I just make the item using my metric tape measure for the simplicity. *I have a goofy sense of humor - I’m sorry if I offended anyone, as that is not my intention. But that is my favorite joke about the metric system 😂

Did anyone else notice? Dust collection bag on the back of the sander but sand paper on it with no dust collection holes in it? The bag was doing absolutely nothing.
Hello! You’re absolutely right; I used sandpaper without holes, and I find that they can sometimes work better. The dust collection bag is still kept on, though, as it doesn’t interfere with the work, and it’s there just in case. @@WoodArtReal I like to have my vac connected to my sander whenever possible. That combined with holed sandpaper means it doesn't clog up. I end up using sand paper sheets for so long that 80 grit ones end up being decent for polishing. lol
