I don't. You and I get immense enjoyment out of listening to Opeth but I (and you, possibly) might get zero enjoyment listening to a typical top 40 band whereas it might be the exact opposite for someone else. If someone's enjoying music, I think that's a good thing regardless of who the artist is. I'm just happy the age of the internet has given more niche bands like them the chance to reach a wide enough audience that we're able to still hear new Opeth stuff 34 years after they formed.
More kids should listen to Opeth instead of those crap on TV. I remember my dad trying to ease me into Opeth with Damnation. Then one day I picked up Deliverance myself and he was pleased xD
Mikael's voice is PERFECT. Over the last few years he has become my favorite rock/metal vocalist of all time. There is nothing cheesy about his singing whatsoever... no shrill metal screams, no self-indulgence, just pure, beautiful singing.
Band with the stretch as far as the whole universe, but still performs in a book and toyshop with the same intensity and passion and sensuality.Insane dedication towards music ♥️
Yeah, I wanted one too as it's pretty peculiar in terms of specs, but that opeth logo is a big drawback for me. I love the band's logo, but it would take some major guitar skills to "overcome" that.
With the juxtaposition of those toys (sorry, collectables) in the background and Frederik's solo at the end, it's like I'm hearing a different song entirely. ❤️
It was my favorite concert without a doubt, I talked with Mikael before their show in Worcester in 2014 and he said he was very nervous to play it. I guess the small crowds get him more than the huge crowds.
Some super fine acoustic work from Fredrik , he adds so much & hides as much of his talent till it's his turn to shine. As hard as this is to play on electric, acoustic wise it's a hell a of a stretch to reach those opening chords. Peter Lindgren was also amazing on this fine piece of music.
Ben Heintz I agree. Sometimes I think Fredrik Akesson doesn't get the credit he deserves in the metal/rock community. Truly underrated guitarist. People would rather be dick riding Synester Gates
probably because Avenge is way more popular than Opeth and also Opeth is not the kind of music you find teens listening unlike Avenge which has a broader audience than Opeth, Synester Gates is great guitarist anyways no doubt
In the coooooorner Beside my windooooow There hangs a looooneeely phooootograaaph Hearing Fredrik getting nervous and playing too hard by mistake, only to play a tad bit too softly afterward, is pure Swedish charm.
Is the guitar tuned a step up from standard tuning? I notice Frederick doesn't use a capo on this one. I have seen people put a capo on the second string and play from there.
I honestly feel sorry for people who dislike this band.
It's probably be cause most people loves the growl, heavy parts. Opeth is mostly balled. However Opeth songs are not so easy to play

feels like Opeth kids version with all the toys in the background.
my kids shall grow up with this music

i did and now i am thinking about the point of my existance

I agree with you !!!!
@@ajejebrazorf8358if you haven’t heard the new album, you’re in for a real treat
Opeth is the best band of entire world, greetings from Ecuador 🇪🇨 South America
One of the best bands of all time
This music always bring me to tears...sometimes even dont know why...I love it!
Same. It's probably their saddest sounding song imo
that guitar solo in the end! just gives me the chills! Simply Superb!!
Band with the stretch as far as the whole universe, but still performs in a book and toyshop with the same intensity and passion and sensuality.Insane dedication towards music ♥️
The solo keeps me coming back here every single day.
Unbelievable..
Damn, Mikael's guitar is gorgeous
keetakitten His Signature SE by PRS...
I wanted one, but they all seem to be sold out quite some time ago :(

So beautiful. This song has helped me transform negative energies into release...
my favorite from Damnation
Opeth is my religion!!!
Mikeals voice is incredible in this performance
I love Mikael's singing in this!
It's so damn good
Opeth in a comics store! "These are a few of my favorite things" right here...
With the juxtaposition of those toys (sorry, collectables) in the background and Frederik's solo at the end, it's like I'm hearing a different song entirely. ❤️
those lucky ass nerds! ive seen them 3 times an that would have been my favorite for sure lol

A Hello Kitty drum kit in the background would have made it perfect.
They should do an unplugged live show like katatonia sanctitide
Mikael is a legend! My favorite Opeth Song!
Mine too
It's so perfect, i love opeth *-*!!
Fredrick without capo. My hand can’t do that.
It's a big stretch! My hand can't do it either!
Even with a capo, it’s quite a stretch.
Haha I was about to comment on that. That is one nasty stretch
welp for some reason i can do that stretch with the G string tuned to E without a capo. it comes with practice i guess
Thought so too, eventually you get used to it and stops feeling like a stretch
Beautiful
Was almost half-expecting him to sing 'In the comic book store...'
that acoustic guitar solo starting at around 4:10.... so much better than the studio recorded song. WOW.
Ben Heintz I agree. Sometimes I think Fredrik Akesson doesn't get the credit he deserves in the metal/rock community. Truly underrated guitarist. People would rather be dick riding Synester Gates

Yeah it was exquisite!
Yeah the studio version had no solo at all so there you go...
Absolutely!
So weird to see Mikael and Axenrot playing beside comics and plush toys, coming from Bloodbath live in Wacken performance lol

same here thomas !
wow unreal
Absolute superlative.
If anyone comes from Leominster MA I'd be interested as to how you pronounce it in America. In England we say "Lemmster". Opeth great as always.
At one time,I thought the dolls would dance and Michael would stop and say, thank you,it's time to leave.
Video proof that the cameramen don't care for the bassist
Well even if he tried to focus on him, he's still hidden by fredrik
I tried but he was hidden and very hard to get from my viewpoint that's the only reason bassist are very import imho to every band.
Sadly I have small hand so I can't pull off the finger stretch as well.
Mars attacks!
Is the guitar tuned a step up from standard tuning? I notice Frederick doesn't use a capo on this one. I have seen people put a capo on the second string and play from there.
Nope it's still standard e. They are playing the whole song 1 step lower basically.
Imagine best music and can pick up 2000ad same time. Even Dredd wouldn't judge your darkness. Prob give free pass to cursed earth tho
Banda completa.
LOOK AT THE TELEPHONE WIRES ON THAT GUITAR, seriously does he play 13's or something?
guapo!
I would give one of my kidney, if I could have been there..
Tremendous
Lucky bastards.
It was amazing!!!!
Bring them to tiny desk
Modhu
He too failed to sing in live. Hope Leaves is a beautiful song, nice to hear but hard to sing.
