Peace to you all. My understanding is that this learned brother went out and did a proper research on a topic that is traditionally a taboo in most cultures Muslim or otherwise. He then mustered the courage to come on a global platform like the youtube to share his findings. It is remarkable that some people find the outcome of this research offensive. Far from being offensive, most of it is actually the brutal truth about men's and women's psychology. You could apply the outcome of this research work on any man or woman from any culture and it will fit perfectly well.
My prayers are for this brother, Dr. Yasir, May Allah SWT reward him with the best of His blessings in this world and in the hereafter for this brilliant piece of work. Amin.

Here's the skinny on women coming from a WOMAN:
    1. *Sense of humor* - if you have a sense of humor, your wife will never be bored of you. A sense of humor is also a sign of intelligence.
    2. *Having intellectual conversations* - don't talk only about people and events, discuss ideas. Talk about your thoughts on different topics from neurobiology to astrophysics. Growing together at an intellectual level is what strengthens the bond.
    3. *Understand she has a life that does not revolve around you* - If she is working in a halal environment, don't be the bad guy and stop her from pursuing her passion. She has goals and aspirations she want to achieve in her lifetime. Let her live a fulfilling life.
    4. *Small gestures of kindness* - get her the latest gadgets she wanted, offer your jacket when it's cold, open the door for her, cuddle, etc.
    5. *Look good for her* - take care of yourself and she will remain attracted to you.
    6. *Give her space* - women need space to collect our thoughts and to just be left alone.
    7. *"Not now" means "you're boring me"* - if she doesn't want to have sexual relations with you as often as you would like, it means you're boring her (i.e. you're selfish and she's not enjoying it). Stop being selfish and make it enjoyable for her.
    8. *Cook* - Make her favourite dishes because food is an universal person pleaser.
    9. *Support* - Women aren't damsels in distress. Don't make her decisions for her. You can guide her and be supportive.
    10. *Respect* - the most important of all. Respect encompasses a lot of acts and behaviour. The way you want to be treated with respect, that's the way you should treat her. Be cognizant and see things from her perspective.
Husbands can be 10x better if they just did the above and it doesn't even involve spending money or playing mind games.

i have heard it said from a wonderful muslimah, I forgot her name, women need kindness and men need respect. If the man is unkind the woman sometimes chooses to attack and disrespect him, or she disrespects him and he is unkind to her. Words are so important in any relationship. Another i heard was choose wisely and treat kindly, that can be applied to both. :)

The part about being exclusive to the wife and making her feel beautiful and cherished (physically and emotionally) is so true. And not mentioning anything about a second wife or another woman in that way. However, I am surprised why the concept of respect to wife isn't mentioned so much. And giving her credit for her intelligence also means a lot to her. All in all, a very good video.

One thing I learn about Islamic marriage is: peace is the most important quality. You can "love" someone but not care about them, not respect them, be unkind to them even. Is love enough in a marriage. It's not!
How can there be peace without kindness and mercy?
What is love without kindness and mercy. It's selfishness.

    • @sara_qr6nl

We want respect in the form of validation: we want to feel seen, heard, understood, appreciated and loved. It falls into the category of the emotional needs. For men, they want their leadership overall to be respected. Doing that means honoring his manhood. So I agree with you that respect should have been mentioned in the frame and in this perspective, it would have been a plus.

The video is good. But it simply makes sound as if women do not need sexual satisfaction...which is not correct. If a women sexual needs is ignored and the husband only care for his physical needs , his wife will be frustrated. Im not saying women dont need the emotional connection, its important..but I think the lecturer needs to emphasis women need foreplay. I have heard of sisters who dislike sex as the husband only care to satisfy his needs and ignores her physical satisfation. This leads to cycle in the marriage in which the wife rejects sex or is angry with him and feels depressed butthe husband is just ignorant about the sexual needs of the wife as each sexual encounter she feels unhappy and frustrated her sexual needs are not satisfied.

    • @andrewskofi3989

+Nur Layla Muslim woman also needs to understand that being loyal to home(cleaning, cooking, housecaring) is different than being loyal to husband. The intimacy is created by woman, bought by man. A lot of man feel so distant to his wife, because she live in narcistic world (not listen, only care herself, and most important she cannot make a wrong thing or choice.) They are sold by Western society to everybody.
But thank to muslim man, a lot of them are withdraw to their castle of himself, and do not follow his desires pervertly.

You said a man should never ASSUME what a woman thinks but your whole video was based on assumptions! A woman is much more than her emotions by the way. We actually have a great ability to separate our emotions from logic. Your video also isn't very modern, sounds outdated. Nowadays most women are IN the workforce, at least in America. You have valid points but this video would be more accurate if you collaborated with a woman or if she herself made this video because it is subjective because you as a man are trying to pt yourself in the mindset of a woman.
    Salam.

    • @abdulraffay1950

Tsahai McQuilkin what exactly ia your point here ? There are alot of female scholars who have given lectures on this same topic.
If his lecture is bothering you so much, simply dont watch it, he's a lecturer of islam, he doesnt base hi lectures on your feelings, so what if he's a man ? He can talk about anything he want since he's here to give you knowledge.
And before running your mouth, look through the comments, there are ao many women who agree with him, you dont and thats just you, there's no fault with the video here.
"We have a great ability to seperate our emotions from logic" how can you say that for sure ? Do you know every woman on the planet ? He's talking generally here and generally most women think emotionally and jump to conclusions easily. Stereotypes develop for a reason.
How is this video outdated ? There is no concept of women working in islam, the man is the provider, women work because their husbands allow them to and because they want to, not because its a duty on women to provide.
There's nothing wromg with the video, your mindset on the other hand seems pretty darn off.

Abdul Raffay lol 😂 so you believe that the only aspirations of women is clean the house and take care of children? 😂 ho please!
You wrong, women has abilities that can be share in this world. Women in time of Muhammad was hard worker mamas! Kadija be first business woman who married Muhammad and by the way SHE was the want to ask him to marry. Aisha was a great boss! She gives ideas not taking in consideration she was able to analyze situations! There more examples.
We work for our money because food and house is not enough we want our own things yes we like to shop!
Second, no all in this lesson is correct he got a lot wrong and generalize to certain types of women. Eastern women to be more precise. Western and African sometimes have a little more strong personality.
I didn’t fit in not even one bullet he presented. Lol I fit in most of the male bullets 😂

    Asalam alaykum brother.
As much as I liked the lecture about what women need to know about men, and as much as I appreciate your effort to try to explain this from a womans perspective, there is something that is really bothering in this lecture. As the first point in the video about men is that they want respect from their wife, this should be the first point in this lecture too. Another thing is that your point 1 and 3 are basically the same and could be said as one, but more importantly, women want and deserve, first of all, respect from their husbands. Not sympathy like you have for a cranky over-emotional immature child. Respect. If husbands do understand this in the first point, they will understand why all the points that come later on are important.
I hope you will understand my opinion and consider it

every last thing he says is true and backed up by multiple Western studies, researchers, authors, etc so get off your Islam bashing rampage. This is a very intelligent man and the info is so well presented in a kind way.

Well, he is wrong in sex part women ENJOY sex as much or more then man and if women remind a man about trash take out during sex, well he can use his intellect to asume he is not doing his job either on taking the trash in timely manners or satisfying her (you gets it? “... take the trash out” ) .

Salamu Alaikum, i would like to express my opinion in this video it mostly applies when the man is in his masculine energy and the woman in her feminine. Most of it relates, but women in her masculine have the traits of the man, and then you have the man who is more emotional and likes to talk more and repeat over and over again. Women desire to be in her feminine energy at all times. This should be the number 1 major concern in how they will understand each other. I do appreciate the concept. Thank you.

alhamdulillah, brother u really know your subject. Allah subhanahowatalah may reward u the best here and hereafter. i really wouldn't mind if my husband even call me object to say something to admire me. yes i can testify from my prospective that every single word is nothing but the truth . i'm totally agreed that husband can destroy his wife's love for him by just ignoring her efforts or even worse when say something negative about her appearance.
jazak Allah for putting everything in words.

Most info in both videos are also mentioned in Men are from "Mars women are from venus" book. the good thing here is that it is backed up by some hadith... & frankly I think many religious men don't read these kind of books, so these videos will transmit the info for this category. Jazakum Allah kheiran!

a very helpful video. those who don't have much experience with women will find it very helpful to understand women.
please don't pick of every word. if you and me speak for 30 mins we will make lots of mistake. the scholar is a human being and I am sure using the word object is an error so ignore that.

I agree with all of this.
But what about when the husbands oppress their wives, telling her she should do this, wear this (niqab) be like this and that.
I have come across many that forces his wife to wear the niqab (but she don't want to), or else they will divorce her.
When they don't stand up for their wife when they are being treated like slave/maid of the house by his mother.
When they are stuck inside the house and can't set foot outside. They just have to cook, clean, and bear children, and this is their job as a housewife, even though they want to work, or even just to earn money because they don't want to rely on their husband financially because he does not use those earnings on his wife.
what about when a man makes promises to the women, just to marry her. But ends up not fulfilling those promises after marriage, even though he is more than capable.
what about those who set up conditions for the women should meet, but ignores her condition or not ask for her opinion.
    1) Give up her job that she studied hard to get, and she doesn't want to leave.
    2) Become a housewife, the housewife that just at home cooks, cleans and wait for the husband to come home, and obey his sexual needs.
    3) wear the niqab, even though she is comfortable with what she is wearing that covers her, and she doesn't want to wear the niqab.
    4) move in with her in-laws, even though they are capable to get a house for themselves, that she might find secure and comfortable. Or even move countries, so he can take your passport away and control you as he likes.

جزاك الله خيرا أخي I couldnt feel more relatable , everything that have've been mentioned was a 100% factss . However , I'd like to highlight that this was a male speaking abt what women think nd want , so I suggest for my brothers to go listen for a female's podcast or smth similar to this (there are plenty on ytb for sure ) talking abt women needs and small expectations from their husbands etc . This will 10 times help you understand better your wife or future wife . If u've noticed sheikh made a 45min talking abt men and a 28min video talking abt women , not bc we're less complicated or bc men are more important to him , but bc no male would ever speak abt women needs nd thoughts as a female would

Honestly, I think it's more fitting for a WOMAN to be giving this type of lecture instead of a man. Not that anything he said is particularly offensive (in my opinion at least) or untrue, but seriously, what's a better way to know about what a woman wants/thinks than by listening to a woman herself?? There are so many great Muslim women speakers out there who deserve much more recognition, men shouldn't be the only ones.

It means if you love and appreciate her and what she's likely spent all day preparing for her man is that she will naturally feel the desire to make sure that he feels appreciated as well. However coming home and barking about food and whats not done with no regard for her day and what may have happened will not likely get you any respect or anything else.
