This relates to the imprisonment of the former prime minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, by the military junta's handpicked judiciary on such charges.
More specifically Chief of Army Staff Gen. Asim Munir who has a personal vendetta against Imran Khan for firing him from the post of DG ISI in his previous term.

Jazakallah khair Sheikh Yasir Qadhi. You are one of the few imams who speak out on the current burning issue of divorce in Muslim community. I appreciate your efforts and may Allah reward you with best in both worlds for the work you do.
Divorce, as far as I know from my limited knowledge, is the only area in which Taqwa is emphasized so intensely for every sentence that it's been talked about in quran.
Sadly many of imams don't talk about it. By being silent we allow two things to happen.
1. More divorce takes place for wrong reasons.
2. The divorces with legitimate reason also don't go about in the way Allah has commanded us to do.
As a person coming from South Asia, I've seen there's this 4 th type of divorce called divorcing by mutual agreement ( Mubarah) in addition to the three I have heard and studied from Islamic classes ( talaq, khula, fasakh)
Please enlighten us on this fourth type of divorce so that we know if it's an Innovation or if it's truly from the law of islam.
I'm pretty sure it's a regular degular practice my guy. People have been doing it for hundreds of years

Thank you for discussing the controversies of this topic. I greatly appreciate that you mentioned the significance of the testimony of the female in such a private matter. In some situations and countries, the purity of the Shariah and the rights that Allah(swt) gives to women through Islam is not discussed as openly. Thus, misunderstandings can occur and diminish the true beauty of our faith.
The fear and hope in Allah (swt) that encompasses all believers can be a source of inspiration in such matters. In order to increase the knowledge of the Ummah as well as for dawah, pleeease continue to discuss topics such as these in the future in sha Allah.

‘Iddah (waiting period) based on categories:
1) Widowed lady
- 4 months & 10 days
2) Divorced lady due to Talaq who lived with the husband
- 3 quru’ (menstrual cycles)
- not allowed to hide if pregnancy occurs
- if not menstruating: 3 months
3) Divorced lady due to talaq but not living with husband
- no iddah
- ikhtilaf on what institutes ‘touching them’, whether privacy or actual intimacy
4) Khula’ (lady initiated by giving up something to break the marriage)
- Same as talaq (3 months) according to majority
- 1 month (mense) according to Hambali
5) Fasakh (made null and batil by the authority)
- Big ikhtilaf
*Penalty/hadd should not be implemented on ambiguous/gray area/ikhtilaf
**On the issue of testimony on menstrual cycle, it should be based on the lady’s words

1. Husband died = 4 month & 10 days.
2. Normal menstruating lady = 3 menstrual cycle.
3. Post-menopausal lady = 3 months.
4. Husband never had sexual relation = No iddha.
5. Wife want divorce (khula) = 1 menstrual cycle / 3 months.
Timely conversation
Quran and Sunnah have the most Ayats and details.
This is how Allah SWT gave importance and decision to marriage, family and children.
And still the Ulema can't decide

During the shameful trial of this case her periods, duration of periods and much more were discussed in the court. Yesterday, by the grace of Allah swt, the court has given the verdict in their favour and ordered their release but they have been rearrested on another bogus case which has already been dismissed

How to make deen complicated no one can do better than the scholars and clergy. These aya are pretty clear the problem is no one tells the public to read Qur’an with meaning. You don’t need to read other books or go to a mufti, sheikh or mulla. That’s why the kings and politicians use religion to justify their harem and their oppression of others. Sadly Muhammad (s) did not belong to a madhab or read fiqh.
