Very good review, informative, (and entertaining as always). I've been on a few camps when midges absolutely smothered me so that gadget would be very helpful. Might be a good idea to include a cost estimate for information purposes.
Cheers mate. Link on description for it with up to date costs buts as mentioned was 35 ish when I bought it :) I'll continue to use it and hopefully follow up after this terrible summer has finished haha
@@seanmurphy6139 thanks mate, really appreciate it. It's tough work youtube with algorithms etc but aslong as even 1 person wants to come along on the adventures it's all worth it 😁🙌
@toddjewishe6617 around 8 hours I beleive mate. Change them it's abit of a guessing game. Since I've posted this, I used it last week and midges were bad so didn't move them on (I realised I had it on low heat though)
Cracking review mate, like a lot of people, I’m on the fence with these, but I’m starting to hear a lot of positive things about them lately, I may have to pull the trigger, nowt worse when that wind drops and they all come out in force, and with the light and power bank option looks like a good buy, atb Mick 👍
Good decent review Andy👍, I also watched someone else trying this, but hadn't come to a conclusion on it...😐 I got proper chomped a couple of months back, all round my ankles just above sock line, nasty f--kers😡😡😡, I was woodland camping & thought I'd got off lightly, but a couple of days later were swollen & itchy as...🤬🤬🤬 I aready had a rechargeable Zapper-Light for inside tent, but now got, citronella candles, burn sticks, head nets & Jungle-Formula pump spray...!😄 Do I need this too...???🤔🤣...!!!
Mate it's a nightmare when they come out to get us. I think with all those weapons you mentioned you could probably already invade midge land and get away with it 😉 😁
Good review. I was checking it out - and comparing to my Thermacell. Size seems conducive to hiking, but not as effective when walking. I'm still debating on the investment and my use case - as I could use a good hiking repellent... Cheers!
Yeah for hiking its not great and only seemed to work when sitting static. Unsure why but definitely had more flies around me while moving. I've not used a thermacell as yet. Any good?
@@TheMackemMountaineer It's bigger than a beer can, and takes butane cartridges and chemical pads. It takes about 15-20 minutes to kick in, but it creates a good perimeter around our seats to keep the Canadian Mosquito away. We even have the larger version for home. You are bitten as soon as you leave the area, so a smaller hiking version (that works) would be ideal.
@TheMackemMountaineer It all depends on situations and we're your using it. It might not control a mad swarm but if it helps abit that's a win for me. Nice work cheers
ell ive got it and it is an absolute taste of money .... 0 effect totally does nothing ... there is one guy ho actually takes it to the test and shows that it is worthless ... i can bet that guy here never bought his
I 100% bought this out my own money. My channel isn't big enough to get freebies. Personally, I found it worked for me but I have also seen a lot of people who it hasn't worked for. Seems go be a mixed bag. Midge are back on the scene so I'll have it out with me again.
@TheMackemMountaineer test it when there is no wind and show us results..... it is the worst waste of money ever sorry like I've said before it does absolutely nothing apart from being a lantern...
I purchased this unit and try multiple times and not working for me. I turned on for at least 5 minutes and go to my lake and fishing. While I standing there the mosquito still attacking me. So for me is not working.
M&M ON THE GEAR PMSL 😂😂😂 cracking review Andy I need more pads for mine if that's ya first review very well put together mate atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Cheers bud, yes first proper. Did one on the lanshan 1 a year ago but not the best haha cheers for watching

How long do the mats last for, how do you know when to change them? Thanks :)
Great review btw

I didn't even find the thermacell worked very well for me to be honest.

Argyllshire - Swat a midge and a million come to its funeral!! Might have to get one of these! Thanks for the heads up.
Nice video. There's a few camp spots I love but the midges spoil it. This might be the solution. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching. I've seen a lot of conflicting reviews but for me it definitely seemed to help. All the best

Can you use the cheap pads that you use in the ones you plug in the wall?
I'm not sure which ones those are mate. If they're the same size I'd imagine you could though. All the best
I use two of them side by side in my Nitecore EMR10 instead of use the Nitecore large one at a fraction of the cost.....
Gonna luk into one of them. Cheers
Great video and you make a fantastic hand model 💅
🤣🤣🤣 thanks mate. Will add it to the potential career choices if my current job doesn't work out 🤣🤣🤣

@philipnguyen2529 yeah it seems to be working only when bugs are not around ... waste of money
