We had one exactly like this one. Although the windows weren’t this big. We had so many great memories in ours. I was so thrilled to find this video. Thank you for sharing. ❤
I’m not even kidding, I saw this a few months ago and have been wishing for this kind of camper. I’ve restored another in the meantime and today I became the proud owner of my own Apache! Same colour too! Thank you for the video ❤️
I had never heard of these types of campers before. Saw one on Facebook marketplace last week. 1976 Apache Mesa for 1300. Did as much research as possible because I had never seen a popup that wasn't canvas before. Was skeptical but I also noticed how hard it is to find any information on this exact year and model. Also noticed how scarce they seem to be. I think alot of people buy them to either refurbish them or scrap them for parts. Ended up buying the one I saw on marketplace because I figured I'd probably never see one for sale again. And I was surprised by it's condition being how old it is. Everything on it works. It's missing the original stove. The gas heater was gutted except for the front cover and a cheap electric heater was inside of it. Still has the original curtains and linoleum floor Floor isn't too bad. Just a nick down the middle. Both outer beds have the original cover on them but one is torn where the old man I got it from used to let his dogs sleep on one side. It raises up and down evenly. Needs new wheels. Had a flat 4 miles away from where I bought it. The air conditioner also works and so does the fridge. And i believe its the original fridge. Still has the original sink with no marks of any kind on it. And the guy left all kinds of camping stuff packed in all its storage. Im honestly excited about fixing it up.
It's a wonderful find. We grew up with one of these Apaches and honestly watching this video brought tears to my eyes. Best memories of my childhood. You just need to be careful when you lower it to let the sides tip in before cranking hard at it. Some of the side latches/knobs also need to be treated carefully. Otherwise, it should last forever.
Happy memories of camping as a kid way back in 1973. My parents had this same unit, same color, same setup and pulled it behind a 1963 Chrysler Saratoga. Thanks for the memories!
Someone has a 1978 Apache Mesa for sale on Cape Cod, Massachusetts for $500 right now, needs work on the pop-up chains and they are offering the parts.
And is definitely better than the flimsy fabric ones that are being shoved out on the market today. Why do all the truly GREAT camper brands go bankrupt all the time?!
I honestly do not understand why we can't have these now. Everything I see new is so overbuilt and super expensive. When small companies get back to making these, we will be better off! 🤓
Interesting, I have always been interested in how those get setup. With the bunk end walls taking up the bunk ends when it’s stored, where are the mattresses stored? Or are they using something else like inflatable mattress or sleeping bags?
Hi Andrea, and everyone. I am looking around for an Apache to buy. I noticed these post are all around 2 years old. If anything has changed between now and then, if your aunt and uncle decide they don’t want this anymore, please let me know. I am eager and ready to buy an Apache! Thanks!
Hi lo used to make a hard sided pop up. I believe there is one more hard sided pop up that is not an aliner, it is trailmanor. I think they are all really cool. This one is wonderful. Thanks for sharing
Muy practico muy comodo y ocupa poco espacio mi pregunta hay gue pagar algun impuesto al alluntamiento o ingrementa mas al seguro del coche gue lo remolca muy buena idea del remolgue cracias buen dias desde fuerteventura cracias
My parents had this exact trailer when I was a kid. It’s charming now, but I was so jealous of anyone traveling in a motorhome back then. I remember we had to completely unpack everything to assemble/disassemble. It was a process. But, super lightweight and compact when towing.

Great team work, just bought one last year, same color and model,.
I still think this is one of the best styles and designs of pop-up campers. I wish a modern manufacturing company would pickup where Apache left off.
We are buying a 1975 apache mesa tomorrow! I cannot wait! Thanks for this video.
This is awesome! I want one
I remember these, those most of the ones I saw were the green
I believe they changed the exterior color each year. But you can't go by the color because some have been repainted a different color by the owner.

Lovely to watch this enjoyable video! Please advise the music you have used as this is also delightful ? Regards

That is an amazing piece of engineering!

I’m thinking makeing one and do the way how this one is there demisions measurements how I can make do the one in this video
Camped in one these throughout the 80’s as a young kid. I will never forget how cool and a pain in the ass it was to setup! 😂
Hahaha, same! My poor dad would spend hours getting the camp setup. Cool little trailer once it was all assembled.
Hi, does anyone know what the weight is for the Mesa Apache model?
Sadly this looks like it is by no means for a single nomadic traveler.
My parents always talked about getting one....alas, it was just talk. As they aged, they transitioned from tent camping to cabin stays, instead.
Blood blisters waiting to happen.

Enjoyed watching. Hope to get one soon.
I have for sale
What model and what year we're plannit to buy a 1973 ramada today for $2000
Good!
I have one. When I bought the land it was on it. I didn't know it is a pop up my neighbor told me. Everything is original in it.
I have one ready for restoration 1976 Apache Ramada.

Cool.
We’re about to buy one for 3500$ is it worth this price ? Also where do you store mattress when you take it down ?
As long as it has zero rust and all of the parts, $3500 isn't terrible. Finding parts for it is difficult. Mattresses get stored in the camper.
@@andreap5951 thanks so much. We’re going to check it out this PM, exciting
@@segolenendzouba5662 there's one in my town for 2500
Can you tell me the weight of this Apache Mesa? Thank you.
About 2,000#
Is there just a sleep pad? I didn’t see a mattress.
Mattresses are there. One on each side.
I have one as well, two beds on the end and the table in the middle becomes a bed. I once slept 5 people in mine.
Looks kind of hard to take down ?
No, its relatively easy
❤❤❤
What model is this?
It's 1976 hard cover Mesa pop up by: Apache
@@andreap5951 Nice! I am buying a 1972 Apache Ramada on Tuesday!
Apache Mesa I miss mine!
Thank you guys
