Oh my gosh! My parents had one of these that they bought in 1975. Theirs was copper colored on the bottom. Their best friends had the identical one to yours and my parents liked theirs so much they got one too. I’m glad to see some are still around. And yours is in great condition!
Those were the 'rich' campers back in the day. 😄 We grew up camping (6 of us) in many state parks around beautiful lakes/oceans in the Coleman Pop Up with the canvas in the 60s and 70s. (4 kids)
We camped all the time from May to Oct. Have fun!
Finally! Seriously fun campers and am intrigued by the Tiki interior idea, keep us updated please.
I'm going to get one of them this weekend. It's the same color as yours🎉❤😊
Excellent! Beautifully decorated!!!
Thank you! 😊
Cute camper! We recently just purchased a 78 Apache Ramada and we love it!
It was a palace. My Pop took us around the states in one of these. We were high class!
You two are living the life. Congrats.
Olive is so cool and what a beautiful camping spot you were in👍
I remember... This trailer.. as a kid... My aunt had one brand new... In the 70's...
Love, love, love your trailer! We're hoping to buy ours soon!
The first camper I remember as a child was a green 1978 Apache Ramada. We also had a green Add-A-Room.
Awesome stuff guys!
All of you have amazing trailers
Great video guys and I really love your Apache trailer that is really awesome I am a big fan of things from the 70s
I have recently gotten a pop-up camper and mine is a 1995 Skamper but I really like the ideas on what you guys have done with stuff and it's really nice and it's all original and even if you added a few things to so I would change it I can't wait to take mine out in the summer and get to enjoy it the way you guys have been enjoying yours and hello from Ohio
Another great video. I would have loved to see it been put up or taken down. In the late 70s when i was growing up my parents had a Cabana here in Australia. The ends of the caravan would roll out as the pop top went up. Thank you and your friends for the tour.👍
I am loving these solid state campers, had no idea they exist! Could you do a vid of setup and teardown? Would be really neat to see how long it takes to make/break camp.
Actually that's a plan in the spring.
Had no idea about these. Very cool!
This video was made for the regular viewers of our channel Bossanova Life, and never intended for the general public to pick up on. I honestly expected 1000 views and done... so we apologize as we had no idea anyone else would be watching it for details on the trailer, thus why we didn't spend much time on that. I doubt very much we will have time to take her out for a full video anytime soon as we are working on a new trailer, but if we do we will see if we can shoot more. Thanks.
If you do I'm very interested on how they are put together
I'm fixing to buy one
Thanks for the vid. My parents had a Ramada model for a short time in Arizona. Unfortunately they didnt have it very long, but I enjoyed the memories. In colder climates I imagine these can keep the heat in a little better than a standard canvas pop up.
I want a Ramada myself!
OUTSTANDING
That's really clean. Nice
😊 Looks really nice. You did amazing with the decor.
Thank you! 😊 We sold it some time ago, but it was a favorite.
I own a 1975 Mesa trailer love it was free great shape
Awesome trailer! Would be so fun to have one! Also, try your French 75 with cognac instead of gin sometime! 🙂 Happy camping!
I’ve been dreaming of these but literally every time I’ve found one on fb market place they sell within hours of being listed. I love how they fold down but are solid with no canvas to rip or dry rot. And so much more secure
I just purchased one for 2500... And I'm going to start working on it getting ready for a camping trip. But mine is a Ramada
great tour of your apache tribe i watched it as i was inside my 1974 Ramada in the rain in southwest washington with no leaks by the way. hope to some day meet up and camp together thanks for the viedo
Looks good!
The Apache Mesa is so cool! I had a little Apache Chief that was very light. Pulled it with a '65 Rambler American. You could easily go camping with a Nova/Falcon/Dart/Valiant/American and an Apache Chief - or pull the bigger Mesa with an older full-size car, no problem at all. (my current very 70's thought is a Pacer wagon and a Scamp or Casita camper, both in a pastel Easter egg color)
Once we get our 66 back we will look at rides.
@@BossaNovaLife - a '66 Caddy or Buick duece and a quarter are both truly awesome. Anyway, love your videos.
I want a Ramada! One day. I have a bigger travel trailer… but I definitely want something smaller. And I love these.I have kids so a Ramada would be perfect!
Thank you so much. Super info.
I love your trailer 😍 it's very cool
Very cool.
My family camped in an Apache Mesa!
Nice!
...in olive her glory!
Very nice shape. We bought a 76 Ramada $400 every part was broken in some way all good now.
There was one year that they had canvas slide outs and hard sides for the living area.
Awesome possum!
Love the vintage campers and the Blue Heeler!
Where is that camp sight? I heard Oregon. Beautiful ……
My father sold those like hotcakes in the Northeast & Canada..awesome
Hello!
Where did u get the material for the awning on your Apache Mesa ?!
I love mine . cant wait to open mine this spring. Just picked it up in november 2022 and it was free. It was up right in the canadian winter for 2 years. I am canadian so i apolgize if my terms for things are different. Here we call it hard side tent trailer. I just picked it up packed it up and cant wait to open it. Its rough inside so any tips you have would be greatly appeacated. My sister is in texas for the winter doing the rv life. So if their is anything she can pick up and bring back to Ontario let me know. I would love to get a Yuma 1 it has a out door kitchen.
We no longer use the Apache. Glad you found something you enjoy! They are fun trailers, but always plenty of maintenence. :)
I got a 1974 apache a year ago. I've been updating it. But did you say Oregon coast. I'm at Mt, hood. Got mine from a neighbor.
I found the link you shared in the Apache Forum, but I think it's for an older version of how you rigged up the Awning. Would you mind sharing some details about the Poles & other items needed to get the awning to be supported from the camper itself like you have in this video? We are currently trying to figure out the same situation. Thank you so much!
I would love to know this too!
Where is that camp ground ? place looks beautiful.
That looks like Fort Stevens,. I also camped there with my Apache Mesa
I love your little camper! We recently received a 1974 Apache Ramada and love it! I was wondering how you were able to put the awning on your Apache? Do you have a list of what you bought and how you installed it?
We discussed this inside of the Apache Camper Preservation Society on Facebook. facebook.com/groups/201182856613333/
Enjoy!
I just bought a 72 Yuma. I fell in love with Apaches after watching your video. Do you know what kind of bracket is that your friend is using on the back of the board resting on the bedslide rail? I've looked at Home Depot , Lowes and online and haven't been able to find.
I wish we could help. We sold Olive and no longer have the brackets.
I love your video. How did you find someone no to restore your Apache? I am about to buy one in Florida and I need it revamped.
We found it in that condition. As stated it was stored in a unit since 1989
Love the trailer. What is the headroom?
Cheers,
Bugs
Over 6 ft... as I can stand in it from end to end.
How are they in cold weather?
Can you tell me what the horizontal projection is on your awning?
We discussed this inside of the Apache Camper Preservation Society on Facebook. facebook.com/groups/201182856613333/
Beautiful condition for it's age. Is it heavy? what do you pull it with?
I think it's 1700 pounds. Nothing super heavy duty. A Mazda Cx5 will pull it, but our 4 cyl XTerra Struggles Up Mountains, like 45 mph.
@@BossaNovaLife to keep with the whole BossaNova life thing, I think you need a 1952 DeSoto or Chrysler to haul it around, Maybe an olive green one.
@@barbmelle3136 If you want to gift one to us we won't say no :) But seriously hopefully in a couple years our expenses will cover that.
I understand that but can u show me what it looks like close up hinges and corners inside how it folds down on both sides and bed sliders how they also fold down and fold up or snap together
Ahh. Olive is put away for the winter. I would recommend you reach out to the Apache Pop Up groups on Facebook. They are the experts.
Hey, where do you get parts and upgrades for it?
Apache Preservation Society on Facebook.
Where did you get the awning from. I have a Apache Ramada And mine is missing
Custom made.
Be careful on that extra bed, I have heardif there in no mattress pad there to help support the top parts you put too much stress on the main hinge and it will eventually break.
Mine did. It's just particle board. You can't expect too much out of it.
@@MSchwartzNWV There is no partical board in ours. Solid plywood, and after 3 years, zero issues.
Are they hard to set up
I would love to chat! My husband and I just bought that exact one but it needs a little love.
This is probably a dumb question but I need to ask anyways....can you drive/tow this with it popped out?
No... No you cannot! The facebook group on Apache trailers has all the answers.
@@BossaNovaLife ok thank you so much! My only hesitation with a pop up is that I feel like we may want to do boondocking/just pull over for the night at a parking lot and this is too much work for that sort of thing.
@@apedfish8374 20 mins work
hello
since you are experienced Apache campers, I would like to ask an important question, since I'm looking to buy one. Are these Apache watertight, can you get them watertight with a reasonable amount of work or do they just notoriously leak? thank you for your time. And is there a forum for them?
There are two Apache groups on Facebook that can answer all your questions. :)
Also we live in Oregon. It rains 50% of our trips... as it did during this video. No leaks.
@@BossaNovaLife thank you so much. That makes me a lot more confident to pursue me g one. After listening one his comment it sounded like leaks come with this trailer model. Thanks again also for the referral to the FB group
Our first camper was a 78 Apache Ramada. Love seeing the secret table! I always wondered what that hole was for in the bench as ours never had the table. How are your lift systems holding up? That was the weak spot in mine.
We replaced the original plastic geared ones with solid aluminum geared ones. :)
How about a post on camper set up. Start to finish
We sold Olive a few summers back
How much do they weigh?
Can you please tell me where you sent this off to get restored the name of the company please
We purchased this from a gentleman who had stored it since 1986 in a heated garage. We have another 1966 Trailer we sent off for restoration.
Where did you send your other Apache off for restoration? Can you share info?
What's ceiling hight of olive inside
Oh boy. Over 6ft, but we sold her last summer.
I just pur a pop up 1987 Palamino needs restored has no roof so have to design a roof and jas 2 slider beds. Want to make it a hardside fold up and down exactly like yours.. Can u send me some type of instructions. Step by step please
We did not build this trailer, they came from the factory this way in the 1970s.
Are you going to sell it
I have an apache and I am looking for an awning set up similar to this one. Can you give me some info on it? Thanks!
How much did you pay for yours
$2500 They are rarer on the West Coast. Midwest a mint one would go for like $1500
I have to say three minutes in what I thought would be a really neat little video, but the cuteness has just killed me dead. Sorry, but I’m out of here.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on a random throwaway video from the previous decade. Lol. It made my day.
