    I have never had a camper and never will but I’m enjoying watching you renovate this camper.

      Glad you like them. These low quality shades can be used in a home also.

    thank you for sharing, these look beautiful-is a regular sewing machine ok for this type of material?

      Yes, a home sewing machine should work great.

    Great!
    I've thinking about doing this, since you can get these type of blinds for really cheap second hand - and I already have the perfect thin, stiff fabric on hand.
    Was just wondering, if anybody had done this successfully already 😉

    Can the actual blind be taken off the roller to clean and put it back on.

      I do not recommend removing it from the metal core to clean.

    This is helpful for this specific brand of roller (which is unnamed in the video), but there's too much variance in the market for general solutions to this overall problem (e.g. I have motorized blinds). I really don't understand why someone hasn't marketed roller blinds ready for you to affix your own fabric.

    If I didn’t want to use phifertex for my blinds inside the salon, would you recommend something like the sunbrella upholstery fabric?

    • @SailriteDIY
      @SailriteDIY  2 года назад +2

      Yes, you can use Sunbrella Upholstery Fabric or Sunbrella Marine Grade Fabric. However, those fabrics cut edges will ravel, so you would have to carefully use a hot knife to seal the cut edges or you would have to serge the vertical sides. A hem along the edge will not work for a roller shade. Let me know if you have more questions.

    Does anyone know where I could purchase this telescoping roller rod? I am need of something that can go out to 48". I see Home Depot has them but wont' ship. They don't have them in store. I looked online.. Not up for spending $60 just to toss the fabric. Any suggestions?

    Wow, that's... excessively simple. Got one of these where the original fabric completely ripped off and have been putting off replacing it because I assumed it was a more complicated mechanism... haha
