You guys are absolutely fantastic. Your hardware, customer service, tutorials. . . just. fantastic. Thank you, Sailrite team.
Thank you Sailrite for another inspirational video. So informative and helpful! Love the detailed supplies list as well!
Great and well explained, keep up the good work, thank you
Great video! Thanks for sharing!
Is anyone worried about breaking the glass when the magnets slam together? We made window covers for our rv and made them slightly oversized with stainless snaps. They are a little hard to install sometimes but the sailrite snap tool is amazing and helps a lot. We love sailrite and have for years. Keep all the great videos coming.
Snaps are always a viable option for window sun shades. Thanks for your comment!
Another great/easy video. Thanks for sharing🥰
Thanks!!!
Wow! Love the detailed video. =)
brill video!
Very informative
Glad it was helpful!
My beautiful wife Susan and I will be doing this project soon.
Thank you
I hope it goes very well.
Me ha encantado, aunque no entiendo el idioma la explicación visual ha sido fantástica, gracias 💖
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Visual explanations can sometimes transcend language barriers.
I was wondering if this could be used for cars or SUVs for car camping? Obviously you could add some allowances to extend to the metal frame of the car or by adding straps via a gusset. Or would a material like protect-it be more suitable ?
With the temperatures rising I have considered finding solutions for all the windows ofy vehicle.
I was thinking you could trace the magnet with dry erase before you remove the adhesive backing and then apply them with the shade off to make it easier to align without the other magnet pulling on it
Great suggestion!
I'm wondering why you would want these on the outside? You can't open up your window to allow for any airflow. And in the evening, when you still may want some privacy, if these were on the inside, you could open up your windows to allow for the cool evening breeze to flow through.
And I suppose this Textilene or Phifertex does not allow for privacy in the evening once the lights are turned on in the R.V., or does it?
If it doesn't, is there such a product that you know of that can actually create privacy during the night? Even if it is a product that you would apply to the windows themselves?
Excellent instructions and thorough. However, I’d definitely want these same or another material on the inside. As someone else mentioned, they are screens but now you can’t open the windows. My little rv has windows and I’m always looking for a reasonable price or diy very nice looking privacy/sunscreen for my windows. It would take someone 3 seconds to do a grab and walk off with these great screens on the outside.
Thank you for your feedback! I understand your concern about not being able to open the windows with these screens on the outside. I'll definitely keep that in mind for future videos and try to come up with some DIY solutions for privacy and sunscreen on the inside of your RV windows.
Thanks for the great tutorial. Is there a reason why the magnet pouches are on the outside? I think I like the look of the pouch on the inside facing the glass. I'd like to put temporary magnets on the inside of the trailer. Any reason why this wouldn't work? Thank You.
Hi Todd,
Our logic was that the panel would look better since the magnet is holding the fabric completely flat against the window. If we were to put the patches on the inside we thought that the shade might hang a little loose due to the extra fabric from the patches, we could be totally wrong.
Great video. Thank you. I wondered about the magnets in the pockets flipping when the shades are being rolled up for storage. It they contact one another, is there enough movement in the pocket to allow them to flip over? If so, this would create problems when putting them back up, as their polarity will be reversed.
The pocket is not very large, so it is difficult for the magnet to flip. If it does flip, it means that you can easily flip them by hand.
@@SailriteDIY One could hand stitch around the magnets to secure them better to avoid flipping.
Thank you for sharing this. It's exactly what I was looking for. ??? What kind of a stick would you suggest to use for a Motorhome Class A Window?
I would just use a tent pole. Even a telescoping boat pole would work.
@@SailriteDIY Thanks
Will this help with summer heat? To help keep rv stay cooler?
Yes, it should help a lot.
How about making interior shades where do you attach magnets inside the car?
I would probably use snaps on the shade and Snads on the window: www.sailrite.com/YKK-SNAD-White-25mm-Adhesive-Backed-Domed-Stud You will want to use 3M Silane Glass Treatment if you use Snads on glass. www.sailrite.com/3M-Silane-Glass-Treatment-AP115-4oz
For boats do you recommend snads or magnets?
If it were my choice I would pick the less corrosive option for boaters, especially if in salt water, so I would use Snads.
What sewing machine you are using?
We are using the Sailrite Fabricator Sewing Machine: www.sailrite.com/Sailrite-Deluxe-Fabricator-Sewing-Machine-Package
Would be better with a tab sewn into one edge so the screens are easy to remove.
Thank you for your suggestion! That's a great idea and definitely something I'll consider for future videos.
so you need a person on outside to hang the shades? hmmm
Sailrite sucks. I bought the same machine for half the price!
The Fabricator is the best sewing machine package in its class, nothing compares to it in both performance and power. I know that is a very bold statement, but it is true, you will love the machine! Sailrite is the exclusive source for this fine sewing machine and Sailrite’s famous service comes with the deal. The Sailrite Workhorse Servo motor and the Stitch Pro Balance wheel (which are all cogged) are miles ahead of any other servo and balance wheel. You simply can’t get the power and slow speed control that we have on our Fabricator. If you have not watched our video please do: ruclips.net/video/I1jl_L2ZEW8/видео.html
We want you to be able to maintain the machine yourself. If it comes down to a mechanical or timing issue (which is very rare), we provide excellent instructions guiding you on what to do to fix most issues yourself (take a look at the PDF guidebook here: www.sailrite.com/PDF/2016_Fabricator_Guidebook.pdf ).
If you need phone support we stand ready to happily assist. Not to mention the many “Unlisted” videos on RUclips (available to Sailrite Fabricator Sewing Machine owners only) showing you in detail how to fix it yourself. So, not only do we stand ready to help you with questions on sewing projects, fabrics, notions and tools, but we also provide the best technical help for your Sailrite sewing machine from our own sewing machine techs in-house.
