Anyways even then when he showed us this would've been early 2010s he was already living in some sort of assisted living, had sold his 85 super bowl ring, and had basically drank himself to death. He was drinking like 30+ beers a day for some time. So sad to see how he ended up considering he brought us so so much joy as young football fans.

The Patriots held Walter to 2.77 yards per carry. Him getting bottled up till that point was what made Ditka decide to use Perry at the goal line and create this classic play. now with that said, the Bears were up 37-3 and at the 1 yard line. not giving Walter the ball here was silly and Ditka said later on that he regretted the decision. They could've easily used Perry as a lead FB if they wanted to and Walter would've walked in untouched. I find it difficult to believe Walter would've been stopped at the 1 yard line and there weren't any major implications for the game outcome if he didn't get in.

I'm a Packers fan too, but if we're being honest the Fridge was really only a good football player early in his career. After that he was merely a personality (albeit a good guy) who got more attention than his play merited. It made me sick when Mike Ditka let him score a touchdown in the Super Bowl, stealing the moment from the guy who really deserved it (Walter Payton).
There's no doubt Buddy Ryan was an amazing defensive mastermind but his pettiness always got in his way and it cost him the ability to win more than 1 SuperBowl. His hubris was his greatest enemy.

Hampton would have a tackle and tight end on him, and McMichael and Dent would have a guard/ tackle respectively and maybe a running back, but Perry would have a guard and center on him because the offense didnt want him pushing the center into the quarterback. He was also double teamed on every running play. He still got lots of tackles and about five sacks a year. He was very disruptive, looking like a pro bowl player. Until he got too big and lost his powerful explosiveness.
I was working in Barnwell, SC around 2010 and we were staying in this small hotel. When we pulled up to the hotel, there was a huge party everywhere, and then I seen this monster of a man come up and welcome 2 white boys to the party. It was the Fridge. There was 200 people there, just partying the night away. It was a blast. He was the nicest man when he didn't have to be

I was working in Barnwell, SC around 2010 and we were staying in this small hotel. When we pulled up to the hotel, there was a huge party everywhere, and then I seen this monster of a man come up and welcome 2 white boys to the party. It was the Fridge. There was 200 people there, just partying the night away. It was a blast. He was the nicest man when he didn't have to be
When a was a little kid I remember him being EVERYWHERE. We didn’t watch football in my house but I knew his name well.
