YESSSS the people! As I mentioned at the start, if you scrub along you will see the video has 'chapters' so you can go to the time in the video that you care about. Or you can be sound and just leave the whole video to play through even if you're not actually watching it, so I can get my view duration up for some algorithm gains... Up to you though. Enjoy, hope it's useful/informative! x

+1 to this. I'm not particular interested in this part, but I'm letting the video run out because this is the honest content I freaking love. Time-stamps, honesty, chill, real attitude. Joey D is indeed our hero.
Jack Gower I thought that too until i briefly met Matt at Bodypower a couple of years ago, he’s nothing like he is in the videos. It was like meeting a completely different person 😂 Joey on the other hand, was EXACTLY like the person you see in his videos, it was like talking to a brother I never had. 👍🏻
Pretty decent price, considering the equipment will last him about 15 years or more ( and he could probably recover about 20-30% of cost by selling old equipment), and a decent gym membership of 35 a month would run 6,300 for that same amount of time, and gas for commuting to gym would probably add about 3,200 over 15 years (a little more than 4.00 per week). So a total cost of about 9,500 So assume 8,800 after maintenance with durability for over 15 years, and approx 20% cost recovery through resale, means net cost of about 7,100. So you'd save thousands by having a home gym.
Joe you really win with being such a geniune person, while lots of fitness influencers form their crowd through inspiring with extreme motivation and lifestyle. Your input as a real ass human being makes content so relatable and realistic for me, to the point where I see myself setting up a gym in the far future when I’m set up. Keep it up!
Dude, your home gym is my dream. It's gorgeous, and I love that it is evident you put thought in it with just the necessary equipment and you didn't just stuff it with things like an ADHD kid, as I see many home gym owners do.
You might want to consider adding a spring between the punching bag and wall bracket to absorb the shaking of the bag. Otherwise the bracket screws might start to peel away from concrete after a while.
legendary vid joe lad. first vid on youtube ive been glued to. Big respect for your transparency on everything and cant wait to see a vid of you training in it.
Respect for pricing everything... most youtubers feel the need to act as if this shit doesn't cost money. Yet it's worth it for anyone into fitness in the long run. Don't buy shit, people.
for the T bar row, strengthshop actually sells a sick handle, it goes on the barbell sleeve and adds space between the bar and yourself so you can get a good ROM, also only costs like 35 pounds.
It doesn't stick, probably because the amoebic pattern means there's not much actual surface contact. I tried a couple of different tapes and it just comes right off.
Hi mate. With your knowledge and skills fitting the gym out, should start your own home gym conversion business!! If that’s costing you £6k I’d have thought people would pay £10k plus!
Yeah joeyd, we bought acrylic mirror for our gym, but it just warped. Luckily we had a older lad who installed a second mirror for us and gave us brand new safety mirrors. I don’t recommend acrylic mirror.
You tubers that flex their wealth are annoying Brian Shaw started doing this too, really off putting “10,000$ LOG PRESS!?” ok bro you’re loaded show me how to get strong
Hiya mate when we go back into lockdown in Manchester is it sound if I come and train in your gym ? I’ll obviously work reception or something for my membership, I’ll even bring my own desk.
Don’t know if anyone can relate but this video’s about your home gym are insanely satisfying. Maybe also the point that I made my own homegym too. Makes me think to buy rubber matts too, but made my gym really low budget in the first place (total under 1500 euro)
Joey you should brick up the garage door and put in some windows, and then knock down a small door sized section of the wall inside the garage to connect the gym directly to your house. Probably had this idea before but just wanted to say it anyway just in-case I can spark some inspiration if needed. My family have a similar house layout to yours and we did it with our garage, instead we converted it in to a cinema room but damn it completely transformed the house visually from the outside and also from the inside of course! Great videos mate, all the best.
Yo Joe, love the setup mate, appreciate how you aren't a snob about your equipment and focus on versatility and functionality, bit like your rags ha. Just thought I'd give my 2 cents on the dumbbell rack from an integrity standpoint, I'm not an engineer however I'm versed enough in fabricating and what not. It should be grand for a good few years even above the rating, but I'd give it a check with the weights off in a year or so just to see if the bar has bent at all and check the weld marks. Placing loads on and off things can and does wear them down even giant iron girders, and I know shred bundy will be using that rack like a mad man, so just watch your toes!
glad you asked me to sub been watching a lot over the course of a few weeks and have been watching from the suggested bit. But love the vids you keep it real
For a beginner or even anyone in their 2nd year of lifting i would recommend just investing in whatever was shown from 10:49 - 17:22. 2x 5kg 2x 10kg 2x15kg 2x20kg plates is more than enough to see you through for at least a year of any compound lifts. By all means if you have the cash then you can invest in all the other items but trust me.. you just need a proper bench and squat rack along with those barbell and plates to begin. With that , you will get your Squats, Deadlift, Bent over row, Dips, Chest press, Shoulder press, barbell curl, tricep extensions, calf raises and shrugs.. What else would you need? A grand will easily get you started. And it will pay for itself in the long run considering decent gyms are at least 400 - 600 a year including petrol costs / bus fares getting to your gym. You never have to worry about lockdown and you can work out at any time you have the energy.. noone ever asks how long you will be and you never have to clean another dudes sweat off.. The only thing you might miss is the eye candy. :)
I think that pulley machine works perfectly in that colour for your gym set up myself. especially against that grey wall as the black might contrast too strongly? also you can always spray paint the pegs easily enough. whole gym looks sick though
Thanks for the detailed information your garage looks amazing!. Your garage is identical to mine and I just did some research and found out you are one of my neighbours. how cool!
Nice homegym! Good work man! Can I suggest you to buy a combo leg curl-extension (atx for example) to set up near the rack (on the right) and Also a landmine for other barbell exercise? Never give up I follow your progress and I really appreticise your videos especially when you talk about MEAL Prep and recipes...
Bit long, but getrxd.com have the leg attachment for your zero gap bench in stock, as per posts on Garage Gym Reviews forum on facebook it's the exact same (someone shows a photo of it fitting) they deliver to the uk but don't know how much and you'll end up paying custom fees too.
Mate i know its too little too late, but if u diluted PVA in water and scrubbed it with a brush into the floor it would have acted as a barrier between the dust particles lying on the floor and the garage paint u used and it would have made a much better job, think of it as when u are in primary school and u would get PVA glue on ur fingers and then peel it off hahaha! Same idea
Got most of my stuff from strengthshop, rack, barbell, plates etc. Fully recommend. Got the same power bar as JoeyD. One thing would say is if you can store your barbells horizontally its better long term but not a massive issue. Also good idea to get some 3 in 1 oil and a soft brush for maintenance every once in a while, mainly for getting the skin and chalk out of that crazy knurl on the power bar.
Shit I'd be happy with just the rack and dip attachment... Then again I'd need a house of my own. I'd also have to be interested in strength training. Not to mention the fact that I would have to have money for it, or the interest to put any effort into anything in my life basically. But a nice setup nonetheless!
Damn man I just had a scroll thru some of the companies that you’ve put in the descriptions and the prices are pretty awesome to be honest against what I’ve been quoted for certain items. Thanks bud for this !

Love the gym but where do I get those sick pants??
I think going to a gym $10 a month and also risking contracting COVID would be a better deal than £10k...
Living in a rented apartment but still watch your videos in full cos you're just cool guy m8
Joe you’re actually a hero for being so transparent about where you get commissions etc. More RUclipsrs should follow you’re example
+1 to this. I'm not particular interested in this part, but I'm letting the video run out because this is the honest content I freaking love. Time-stamps, honesty, chill, real attitude. Joey D is indeed our hero.

As usual no BS from the man
It’s nice watching a fitness channel that doesn’t have over the top fake energy. Entertaining without being obnoxious.
Mattdoesfitness and JoeyD gym builds and cost breakdowns in the same week = big fan
Glad I wasn't the only one that noticed that
Good boy for noticing.
Matts a leech in comparison to joey d though
@@ritvikgupta1156 ah man they're both good guys just doing their own thing

To save everyone time, total cost was: £8,667.18

💯
The red and black aesthetic is absolutely sick. Love it!
You might want to consider adding a spring between the punching bag and wall bracket to absorb the shaking of the bag. Otherwise the bracket screws might start to peel away from concrete after a while.
Such a good video, seriously one of the best fitness content creators, this guys just straight up and I love it.
You could put the T-bar Row attachment in one of the bar holders at the back of your rack
Shout!

That intro with all of the disclaimers was humble af.
his home gym setup vlog and this video... i saw only 2 videos and I'm a big fan now! respect++
This man is an expert at getting discounts and freebies. I need to learn
I am gobsmacked the honesty and professionalism Mr. Delaney demonstrates in this video. I am happy to be a new subscriber.
For the T-bar attachment mate, you can chuck it where the bars are stored on that Rack if the bench can be pulled out.
This guy is the realist youtuber, No BS and straight to the point. Love your content.
Yes mate! You replied to my insta of my gym paint, can’t wait to get it this sick. This video will help me big time so cheers lad
Thank you for breaking down the cost of each item in detail and thank you for being honest.

That’s a great video, and a lot of work went into it. Really enjoying your style Joe. Thanks. 👍
Love the brutal honesty bro
Winter is coming it's going to cold get in there, might need to think about insulating roof, door and maybe some heating...
REP is based out of my city! I'd be down to facilitate shipping you stuff
for the T bar row, strengthshop actually sells a sick handle, it goes on the barbell sleeve and adds space between the bar and yourself so you can get a good ROM, also only costs like 35 pounds.
Hey Joe, you can put some black tape over the gaps between the floor mats to stop any dust and stuff accumulating
It doesn't stick, probably because the amoebic pattern means there's not much actual surface contact. I tried a couple of different tapes and it just comes right off.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Mags’ arms for having to hold that camera up and steady for Joe.

I don’t recommend acrylic mirror.
mdf spent 50 racks on his gym, joey d does 10% of that and gets an equally good set up, good to see some people still have more sense than money
mdf built the building his gym is in as well though. Cant remember how much his was without the build cost. Both look sick though.
You tubers that flex their wealth are annoying
Brian Shaw started doing this too, really off putting “10,000$ LOG PRESS!?” ok bro you’re loaded show me how to get strong
Surely there's a reality TV show to be made with Joey D coming round and renovating people's home gyms? Sick Gyms and Home Gains?
Cool idea but theres really probably not many people with home gyms and if they do can probably afford decent ones
Hiya mate when we go back into lockdown in Manchester is it sound if I come and train in your gym ? I’ll obviously work reception or something for my membership, I’ll even bring my own desk.
I wouldn't trust this one Joe, he sounds like a no good scaffolder
All that meal prep on a budget paying off
paint those ceiling rafters black and put LED light strips around the edge of the room.
