Hi!!! So Sondheim was Jewish so rather than saying Rest In Peace, say May His Memory Be A Blessing. I know you didn’t know but just for future reference:)
RIP Stephen Sondheim (March 22, 1930 - November 26, 2021), aged 91 And RIP Jonathan Larson (February 4, 1960 - January 25, 1996), aged 35 You both will be remembered as legends.
If anyone wanted to know who was credited in that small text when the video credits "Sunday", here they are: Andrew Garfield, Chuck Cooper, Andre De Sheilds, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Joel Grey, Wilson Jermaine Heredia, Beth Malone, Howard McGillin, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Bebe Neuwirth, Adam Pascal, Bernadette Peters, Phylicia Rashad, Chita Rivera, MJ Rodrigez, Daphne Rubin-Vega and Phillipa Soo. (Sorry if I spelled any of the names wrong. They are kind of hard to read.)
Tick Tick Boom! Is definitely one of the best movies of 2021. Andrew Garfield nailed the role. He gave an Oscar worthy performance. You know what? If Andrew doesn't get an Oscar, we RIOT 😂!
I’m a theatre fan and had to pause every few minutes when watching with my teenager because she isn’t the theatre fan I am. Stephen Sondheim is missed. As is Jon Larson
RENT was a huge part of my youth. I saw the original cast on Broadway in late ‘96/early ‘97 (can’t remember exactly when) so I definitely knew of Jon Larson’s history, his early works, and his tragic early death. I was STUNNED how much Andrew Garfield looked like him, and he played the role so well.
This was such a good movie! I’d never heard of him but I def know of RENT. I had no idea the movie was about him. That was such a good movie. I hope it wins all the awards!
Like happy holidays, merry Christmas, etc, etc, etc…it is not disrespectful to offer a kind sentiment no matter how it is expressed. The phrases are equivalent.
I just watched this movie and OMG! It's awesome! I cried at the end. I was literally squealing during the "Sunday" diner musical number when I saw Renee, Pippa, and Lin! Definitely a movie worth watching again!
That Sondheim scene burst me into tears! Sometimes, all it takes is just one message from someone to keep you going through the difficulties and challenges of life...
The Sunday scene is one of my favorite scenes in all of cinema for so many reasons, but the number one reason is the part where Jonathan takes Bernadette Peters' hand. Like the video says, she was the original Dot in Sunday in the Park With George, and in the original version of the scene they're parodying/paying tribute to, George takes her hand just like Jonathan did here. She's even wearing the exact same hat (which also ties into the whole "finishing the hat" motif). I'm convinced that when Andrew Garfield takes her hand and bows, that's not acting. He's in genuine reverence toward a legend. Not to mention the first time I watched this movie was after Sondheim's death so the whole time I was trying to hold back from sobbing, but that part broke the proverbial floodgates. I'm not gonna lie, I'm crying as I type this. To both Sondheim and Larson, thank you so much for the works of art you gave us. May your memories both be blessings ❤ (Side note, as a hardcore Great Comet stan, I'm so disappointed in myself for missing Dave Malloy!!)
The man at 8:37.....looks like David Harbour, but could also be the dad from High School Musical....it's driving me crazy, does anyone know who he is? I really hope he's not some random audience member!
Rest in peace, Stephen Sondheim, you brought us many memorable musicals, songs and characters, and your legacy will forever live on! 😇❤️
Hi!!! So Sondheim was Jewish so rather than saying Rest In Peace, say May His Memory Be A Blessing. I know you didn’t know but just for future reference:)
It hits different now that Larson and Sondheim are making music together

The Sondheim Voicemail has me choking up every time I watch the film! Still cannot believe he is gone.

Does she like the film now, especially with Andrew Garfield.

Andrew Garfield is beyond brilliant in this movie! He deserves the Oscar!
I kinda wish Pasek and Paul were in the group of composers...
Edit: Also the way I fangirled when I saw the Schuyler Sisters! 🤩🤍
Except for Peggy.
@@annafowdy Once again, Peggy is forgotten

Just to remind you all, Stephen Sondheim was Jewish, so instead of saying “Rest in peace” please say “May his memory be a blessing.”
Didn't know Rest in peace was so Controversial to say to a dead Jewish person, geez
@@AlexMR That’s right, Alex. And to be absolutely CERTAIN you don’t offend anyone, you should say it this way… “Zol zayn zkhr zayn a brkhh.” 😉🖖🏻

This musical is refreshing to watch! I hope the accolades match the influence and inspiration this film created.
Yay another TIK TIK boo boom video . I’ve been binging them online.
I lost it when I saw three of the original rent cast members pop up on my screen
Can you imagine being Larson and getting a phone message like that from your hero Sondheim?
She could have mentioned that Robin de Jesus was the original Sonny from In the Heights. Thanks for this video!
and now i cry.....
Judy Kuhn was also the original Helen in Fun Home! There’s like a good third of the OG cast in here. It’s great.
Joshua Henry has a great role in the workshop and played Michael in the revival of Carousal and Aaron Burr on the 1st national tour of Hamilton.
WHY wasn't Superbia on the album? This was fantastic
The actor who played Karessa mentioned that they did record the superbia songs, but she has no idea why they aren't on the album
They are now
@@eoghurt where was that interview?

I really hope Andrew bags his first Oscar with this film.
He was ROBBED

(Side note, as a hardcore Great Comet stan, I'm so disappointed in myself for missing Dave Malloy!!)
Lauren Marcus is also a Broadway cameo. Seen in Be More Chill and married to the show composer Joe Iconis.
Omg Howard Mcgillin I know also from Swan Princess (he's Prince Derek!!!)!! MY NOSTALGIA BRAIN HAS LOST IT NOWWWWWWWW!!! 😆🙌💖
Everyone keeps missing Aneesa Folds! Not as famous but she’s in the Superbia cast, she’s in Freestyle Love Supreme right now she’s awesome
All the stars in an amazing crossover, omg I'm dying ❤
Raul Esparza should have been one of the cameos.
Bradley Whitford HAS to play Sondheim in something else… I can’t get enough of his portrayal.
“Tick Tick Boom”? Nah, it’s “Around an hour of Lin flexing his phone list”
Tick tick boom was one best movies of 2021 we did't have musical so good in years.

Ok but can we finally get a full version of Sextet lol
Of course I wasn’t going to notice the cameos ‘cause I’m from outside the US and here musicals aren’t as popular as there 😅
When I was watching this movie, I turned into that Once Upon a Time in Hollywood meme
This was really great. Thanks
This is Andrew’s year for an Oscar
Can someone please tell me where in the movie is Jordan Fisher?
It's amazing how much Garfield looks like Larson. God, I loved this movie.
if this movie doesnt win an oscar for best adapted screenplay, idk what im gonna do
The king himself, Groff was in the lobby too!
if Patti Lupone was in the Sunday scene i would've died
I just noticed the two actresses who played Angelica Eliza Schuyler
I don't care much for Theatre so I have no idea who all these people are I just thought they were new actors but holy cow this movie is just camios
Rip Jonathan Larson
Just look at me a non musical person watching everything relating to Tick Tick Boom.
Who would have thought that spider man aka Peter Parker can sing 🕸️🕷️🧒
