Hi folks:) Thanks for coming. This was our show. The real, original tick, tick...Boom!. What Stephen Oremus, Scott Schwartz and Chris Gattelli crafted it into for three actors, from Johnathan's solo version.
This was taken of a performance in Seoul, Korea when we went there to do a 3 week run after closing the show Off-Broadway. At the end of the show on this recording, there is an additional performance of LOUDER THAN WORDS we performed live on South Korean TV in front of a live audience not an hour or two after we got off the plane from the US. What a wondrous time. Boy, did we have a ball. Enjoy.
Joey McIntyre as Jon
Natascia Diaz as Susan
Jerry Dixon as Michael

I watched the Netflix version first and was worried that it would ruin this performance for me but oh.my.god. i am so, so, incredibly glad that i watched this. i couldnt help but clap after every song, i mean it was just so exciting and the singing is incredible, as well as the performances that the actors put on. wow, i am so in love!!! your performance is insanely good ugh my heart!
Thank you so much. Ha! Yep, You felt it. :) That's the power we felt. This was an incredible an induplicatable show and performance. There is so much stillness, anticipation, theatricality, and focus. Every moment is carefully directed and every movement body angle has a purpose. Not seen the netflix myself. But this is real magic. It is theatre through and through. We were a very tight knit trio. And for your words about me thank you very very much. I hope that this will give people a sense of the real deal and it will have resonance...and not be forgotten. Thank you for letting me in. :) Generous. Thank you for your curiosity and caring. Means you got to receive the gold inside. I can feel you did. :)
Natascia Diaz, seeing your performance was amazing. Sometimes I feel that your capture of the story of Jonathan Larson was better than even Lin Manuel Miranda and Andrew Garfield. I especially loved your performing of come to your senses.
Just got cast in this in a community production. Its a beast of a show, but im so thankful this video is here for reference ❤❤❤
My college is putting this show on this spring, and I am already addicted
Never heard of Tick Tick Boom. Watched the movie on Thanksgiving and it blew me away. Fave movie of the year. These songs have been stuck in my head for a month. So cool to see a theater experience of it. Great job!
Yes. What is was shaped to be first. Incredible for me to inhabit. I could feel it's greatness as I did it. Hard to explain. Great that you now know it. Theatre is the bomb. It's full of tick tick booms waiting to be discovered. ;)
@@NatasciaDiazDive you are very talented! All the best now and in the future!
@@patrickmccabe2078 you are very kind and I thank you:) All the best to you in turn dear Sir!
So glad this is preserved. TTB holds a special place in all my years of theatergoing. You were so impactful in the role. I was there the night when your mic went out right before Come to Your Senses, but you still delivered the song wonderfully. RIP Jane St Theater
What an incredibly kind thing to say, and what a memory! Thank you! That show will always be magic to me. And yes indeed, RIP Jane St....
that was honestly the best performance of "come to your senses" i've ever heard! so warm and rich and powerful. absolutely beautiful. and "why" was absolutely chilling. what a phenomenal production. amazing job!
So happy you enjoyed and wow thank you very kindly for that, impravidus

Everyone here are so talented. Bravo!
I wish someone had captured the full show with Raul Esparza. Love his version of these songs.
I really hope that after the film’s success, this show can return someday
Me too! Or even finally getting a production of Superbia itself
@@fan-fx1zb don’t think superbia will ever happen unfortunately since there was never really a fully written ending and only scrapped fragments :(
I was there in Seoul and remember it was fantastic !!!!
Ha!!! That is AMAZING!!
I am so blown away by the direction in this omg. you guys killed it i'm so glad this tape exists
I saw you/this cast perform in New York! Met you all after the show - all so gracious. Never knew Jonathan but his work continues to resonate with me 25 years later.
Love that! Thank you for that and carrying it's meaning and what we shared with you! It does live forever that way....:)
I'm playing guitar doe this show in Yorkshire and came here for reference! Love the concept so much!
So glad you came by, Mickey! I bet you're having fun being in the boardroom scene where the band chimes in....lol...This is the Maestro Steven O. himself. So tight. Have a fabulous run, all my best wishes to you and the company. :)
Thank you so much! It's such a great score! The run starts in Feb so I'll try and get some footage across :) x x
@@mickeymoran1850 I have some exciting TTB news coming you and your cast may be very interested in. Would love to share. I can't say just yet, but it would love to share. You can find me on instagram at @ladydiaz777

Thank you so much for uploading this amazing show 🙏 from Korea
My pleasure, we had such an amazing time in Korea.
Oh my god I can’t even put into words how grateful I’am you uploaded this! One of my fav shows ever!🙏🏼 you were SO good! Wish I could’ve seen it in real time but this is just magic! The Netflix version is great but nothing quite beats it live!
It is my absolute pleasure, Carly, and thank you for your words:). Truly. This was an unforgettable moment in our lives and so touched you all care to share. It would have been nice to have been included in the netflick, but our show really does live forever this way. Thank you so much.
natascia you, as with many other productions, were oh so good in this.
Thank you so much, Daniel🙏❤...it was a special creature this show...an intimate trip for three...loved doing it🎆
My friends and I traveled from Chicago/Boston to see this show and cast so much could've swore we lived in NYC! ❤
Oh, my goodness. What a honor. Thank you for making so many efforts to share this special moment with us as much as possible!! Wow!
Finally I get to see you in this Honey!! You’re Great…love, papa❤️…thanks!
Papa, you never saw this....! Oh wow I had no idea!
What a beautiful time capsule. Thank you for sharing this and your beautiful talent. This performance was breathtaking
Thank you so much for that K. Truly. So glad it hit you like this....:) XO
One of the best performances of one of the hardest songs there is to sing: Come To Your Senses.
Brava!
Thank you kindly, CE:)xo
Natascia, I have had this exact version of the show on an old VHS tape and cannot count how many times I’ve watched it. This is theater at its core. It’s musical and beautiful and magical! Thank you so much for sharing it here. Especially now that the Netflix version has created quite a buzz. I love the Netflix movie as well, it’s a great cast. But for me nothing compares to the true theater spirit you shared on stage every single night when performing this amazing show. I’m honored and humbled just to watch you perform!
Omg is yours better shot than this? lol I would so love to have a better quality! Thank you, Davina for your words. So much. That means a great deal.
@@NatasciaDiazDive I actually just watched my tape again. The quality is slightly different, but still bad in this “it’s an old VHS-cassette”-way. So I doubt it’d make much sense to share it with you :)

Never imagined i could see this show again. i was right there at the theater in South Korea back in 2002!!
I saw this show live in NYC back in 2001. It was amazing.
There's nothing like the magic of an amazing show and a great audience
I'd love to see you guys reunite just for Louder Than Words.
Did you see the footage at the end? After the show? :)
I’m singing Come To Your Senses as a solo project for school… im beyond excited. I watched the movie last year and it might be my favorite thing ever. Finally getting around to watching the actual original show-- thank you so much for uploading this, and you q do an absolutely incredible job!!!
Drove from Detroit to NYC for less than 24 hours to see this play. It was beyond amazing! To this day those songs still linger in my head. Amazing cast. ❤️
Ok, that is incredible. Love that. And thank you for sharing with us:)! Xo
@@NatasciaDiazDive you are an amazing actress!
@@lisacrawford77 you are so kind. This show is a feast. You get to pivot and play all these other characters...and still keep the triad of the 2 most meaningful relationships central. So so cool and SO FUN to do.....!
Gotta say, I didn't realize I was on YOUR page until I checked the name. You're easilly the best bit of this whole thing, well done.
Kenzi, that is very sweet of you to say. Thank you. Truly. This show was very special for me and was a big victory at the time in my trajectory trying to avoid being typecast. I dreamt of telling stories that I could just paint with my imagination and not be limited by what people thought I should be because of my last name. This affirmed it was possible. And there was a place for me. I will never forget what this felt like. Roles like this dont come along often where you get to really play and use your agility. Such a treasure. Thanks again so much for your words, and Happy New Year to you.
Hi, I'm a Korean fan of Jonathan Larson. And also I'm aspiring musical actress...🙂🙃 I saw this video during the 'tick tick Boom' search, because of my entrance examination. Thanks to this video, I think I will love his works more deeply.🥺💕 Especially your 'Come To Your Senses' is my favorite from now on!🔥 Thank you so much for recording and sharing the video.🙏 This is my first English comment!🙉 I am not good at English, but I really wanted to write a comment...😇 I hope my love is fully delivered, and I hope you have a happy new year!💫
You are GREAT at English! Thank you so much for your kind words, N J! Yes, musical theatre done well is transporting....truly. Your love is FULLY delivered, dear N J. and what a poetic wish and message. Thank you for your time care and heart. All the best to you in your journey and stay safe and well!
What a great production of this amazing show! I'm happy more people are finding out about this and Jonathan Larson because of the movie
Natascia, Joe and Jerry were the best cast to do this play. Thank you for posting.
Thank you Susan, we have a bond now that lasts forever. Truly. That's what living this together was. And we share that place in Jonathan's legacy. An honor. 🎆
@@NatasciaDiazDive so true hope you are well ❤
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for uploading this .
Anna, my pleasure! :) SO glad you appreciate!
This made me so happy to watch and I was absolutely blown away by how wonderful you all are! Musicals and singing makes me actually feel alive and I practice singing everyday so I can hopefully help bring amazing stories like this to life on stage one day. Thank you for such a stunning performance!❤
Great play!!!
Never thought Billie Armstrong woulda made it to Broadway. But here we are
Que bueno encontrar la obra de teatro completa, me encantó las interpretaciones de los actores de esta gran obra. Gracias por compartirla con el público, cuantas ganas de haber visto la obra en vivo. Saludos.
Thank you for posting. I’m in a production of RENT coming up in two weeks. Since being cast I’ve been digging up the origins of the show. It eventually led to Larsons bar performances, to Superbia and to TICK TICK BOOM.
I haven’t seen the movie on account of not having Netflix 🤪
But this is a great introduction to the meaning and lead up to RENT from the perspective of Johnathan Larson
This performance is amazing!
Thank you so much for uploading and to a dear friend for sharing. This is the TTB I wanted and needed to watch!
Well that is music to my ears, Tricia. Wow. And
Thank you. That means a great deal. I think you can feel it. 🙏❤🙏
Thank you. Love this.
Watching this on New Year’s Eve :) Loved the Netflix movie but I think this is much more magical!
I watched live, you are amazing!!!!
I Love that, thank you!
Omg 🤩❤️😍 such great memories !
Indeed! xo
Thank you so much for sharing this show. This piece of history is online. I wonder if Mr Larson would have adapted to online life or stayed analog.
Really Good! Congrats, Natascia. You were a damn good Susan :)
Thanks posting this drove up from Chicago almost every other week with my friends seeing this show it’s apart us ❤
Michael & I really hits me
This is so awesome. You guys were amazing. 👏🏽

Wonderful show - thank you so much for sharing this. You're all magical.
Thank you Nick:) XO
Nice thanks for sharing ! Now I want to find a old tape version of the monologue version there are a couple of clips but would be interesting to see how it compares to your excellent version and of course the movie homage. Congratulations on being a part of an amazing show !
wow!!!
I've been waiting for a long time to see this and it looks amazing! Thank you for giving us this opportunity!
I would love to find the script for this version.
Excellent performance! 😍 This is my favourite stage show, and I've seen it live a couple of times in Europe, in different countries, but I couldn't afford to fly to the US to see any of the American productions, so thank you so much for uploading this! 🙏
I'm so glad I could bring it to you like this! The original staging and direction are very precise and that's what makes it so special to my mind....:)
OMG thank you so much for uploading this! I was fascinated by the movie tick tick boom and ended up watching every performance vids uploaded on youtube of the real musical itself...and what a surprise cuz I am Korean😂 I wish I were old enough to watch it live on tv back then. (MBC is one of the biggest public broadcast channels here in Korea) Thank you again for the great performance and also for uploading it on yt🥰
thank you for posting this !!
Oh my goodness. Thank You for posting this. I saw you (the closing cast) three times before it left. You were so nice when I met you after the show too. You even did your Chiquita Banana voice to humor me when I asked ☺️🥰😂. I wish you all the best and success. You’re so talented, I loved your performance.
What a great message. My pleasure to share. 3 times! I LOVE that! It was like being in the eye of a hurricane. Such a thrill. And chiquita! lol omg I have a recording of it on my soundcloud....so funny....amazing times. Thank you for your well wishes and support, come visit me on my website insta! And ps....have some exciting news coming. I'll just say you might want to be in or around NY in Jan....that's all I can say for now....;)
I love the Netflix movie so much (Vanessa is such a talent and she killed it, alongside with Alexandra Shipp) but oh my gosh you gave me chills. I know this music from when i was a teenager. But oh my gosh you killed it!!! Your voice is impeccable and the storytelling is this song, I really loved it. Nothing ever ever like seeing this beautiful material of a carefully well written wrong performed to its fullest breadth. You are fantastic. Thank you for the goosebumps. I would love to see more of your work. I miss theatre and can’t wait to audition and hopefully be cast in another show
I wish you all the luck in the world, Camara. Keep working and growing and you will, I know it. Thank you for your kind words about my work, truly. I am about to shoot an episode of FBI and I begin rehearsals for OUR TOWN at Shakespeare Theatre in DC a week from today. Please come by www.natasciadiaz.com/ if you'd like to share more with me. I've worked hard for a long time and every bit of support means the world. Truly. Thank you from my heart.
Thank you so, so much for this! I saw the Jane Street theatre performance with the three of you when i was thirteen - one of my favorite theatre experiences I've ever had! And reliving it here, it's just as great as I remember. The chemistry, the vocals, the passion! You made me fall in love with this show. And tonight, I was lucky enough to be at Joey's Carnegie Hall show to see you three reunite for a few songs - unforgettably special!
Was this the same performance as raul Esparza done? I noticed jerry is in this one, and so are you. Btw, i especially love joeys voice it’s so angelic. Tbh your all amazing!! Ty for uploading the full show respect!
Jajajajajaja
Tratare de hacer esta obra en mi colegio ;)
Deséenme suerte 🍀
¿Como te fué?
¡Yo también quiero hacerlo en mi escuela!
See Her Smile is actually gorgeous, shame they cut it from the movie
5:51 I watched the netflix version 2 days before my birthday (It was a coincidence) and if that line was there I would have cried sooner
❤️
Are there gonna be anymore plays of this near Alabama (maybe not the exact one) if so, would like to go see it live?
Not aure....but you can always turn to youtube or check to see what theaters in the world do live streams or show prerecorded performances. Also, PBS is a wonderful resource for theatre and musical pieces...check them out online.
Hi ! This is amazing, I wanted to know if there was a way to get the script for it ? I have a hard time understanding certain things when I don't subtitles so I thought it would help me. If I can't have it then it's fne :D

Is this the full play?
Yes
The dude playing Jonathan is giving severe Jim Carey vibes
LOL!! Totally
That’s Joey McIntyre from New Kids on the Block.
is there no boho days in this version ?
Boho days wasn't in the off-BWay production, but it was in Jonathan's original drafts so they put it in the movie (and released Jonathan's version on the OOB cast recording)
he ate 30/90
Is that the real Jonathan Larson?
No.
I hated New Kids on the Block, but he does a good job
He don’t look like John
Agree. Neither did Raul Esparza. But theatre isn't literal. He and Joey were chosen because they were deemed best to hold Jonathan's heart and voice in the story of ttb. 🙏
