This...may in fact be a reference to True Blood. Where the blood of the fae gets the vampires *incredibly drunk* while also giving them the ability to *DAYWALK.* It gave a number of very memorable scenes, but ultimately boiled down to A Very Bad Idea.
@Elaine Sage I won’t ever drink and I don’t usually comment something like this, but this essentially means that the vampire in the bit was probably super depressed. Either way, the situation would be a win-win for him/her. Either they find a good drink, a partner, or even just a good friend to talk to.

I do enjoy fairy folklore so much. Vampire vs fairy is a much more amusing and interesting lineup then the ancient vampire vs werewolf.
I can’t help but agree. While werewolves and vampires shared the trait of “beasts in moonlight, if bitten,” both fairies and vampires have fairly (heh) specific rules to follow. For fairies (if I remember correctly), it includes give them anything, it’s theirs, never be a bad guest or risk being theirs, or if they touch iron, they get hurt. For vampires, it includes no sunlight, only allowed in if welcomed, and leaving a rose on their coffin seals them in there (no, really! That’s a thing.) I’m surprised it isn’t as common, now that I think about it.
