  • The 2023 Toyota bZ4X is the brands first all-electric car. The company that brought hybrids to the masses has finally taken the on-ramp to Electric Avenue. With an EV powertrain you get Lexus-level refinement standard. However, driving range of Toyota’s first mass-produced EV varies widely by trim and motor configuration, and DC fast charging comes with a big surprise you’ll want to be prepared for!

Wife drives the Limited AWD 35-65 miles daily. Uses 8% to15% of battery . Trickle charges overnight. Excepting tire rotation, basically maintenance free. Hard to find for purchase in AZ.

The software update currently rolling out in Europe will raise the DC fast-charge throttling to 4 times per day, with a few caveats to ensure you still get that battery longevity.

Wise choice. might as well avoid AWD since you won't go into offroad mode with EV as yet. FWD is better in terms of range and utility.

In theory it's not a great idea to jump start a traditional ICE vehicle with the battery from a hybrid or an EV because the small batteries used in those vehicles aren't meant to turn over an engine and don't have the cranking amps to do that repeatedly. Hybrid/EV to Hybrid/EV, no problem. Also, you could need to jump start an EV in the event that the 12V battery goes flat. The 12V battery would go flat at its end of life and (possibly) in the event that the SOC of the traction batteries are below a certain point. At that point the traction batteries stop managing the 12V battery charging in order to preserve range.

Agreed, but it was just enough to get the other car going. Would I recommend doing it often.. no.

64f is not a boiling day, and you can turn on ac with fob before entering. Boot cover fits under floor and not thrown out.😮

Oh trust, it was hot! The photo of the gauge cluster showing 64f was a different day, so continuity goof on my part, but good eye! Also TY for the reminder the package shelf can go under the floor and hopefully it won’t make a rattling racket under there 😁

Unfabulous, ugly and at best mediocre. Badly done Toyota, badly done indeed.

Agree 100%. I don't know what this love fest with Toyota is. I own a Polestar 2 and Model 3. No fronk? No glove box. I live in the west coast. I don't want a knee warmer. And, what is this about only two fast charging per day. These guys are paid by Toyota for sure. Shame
