Thanks for this. I've seen recent research indicating that IBMP is very effective at rewiring neurological connections for positive behaviour. Particularly it is nice to have delivered in a factual and scientific way.
Holy moly. I just sent a really nerve wracking communication, and was in full nervous system activation Freak Out Mode. As someone with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, the stimulation of activation (positive or negative) doesn't run itself out and reset the way normal nervous systems do. So, I was anticipating being in freak out mode for some time. I did just this one exercise for less than 2 minutes, and my systems calmed down SO MUCH. Wow. Thank you so so much for this!!
Brilliant. Thank you so much. I've been doing bioenergetic exercises and experiencing tremendous rebalancing of the ANS, but I was unfamiliar with this technique. It creates an immediate shift in energy.
thank you.for this video. I am constantly in flight or fight mode, and I've had pelvic rigidity for about 2 years along with severe social anxiety and gelataphobia (fear of being humiliated and laughed at) ,I work as a carwash employee and I have to bend down, rotate my hips, etc. My awkward movements and motions draw a lot of negative attention which makes the condition worse because my body freezes up and it's destroying every aspect of my being.
Breathing out through the mouth can deepen both the sympathetic and parasympathetic states. It depends on how strongly and quickly you breathe. Breathing out through the mouth helps to deepen the breath and induce abdominal style breathing, which over time creates more a felt sense of being in the body, so you are more grounded and in present time.
I felt some "pain" in the abdominal muscles, a friend of mine felt the same. Is that a bad effect, we are not doing the excercise right, or what :? Thanks in advance! I also felt some pain in my back - am I over extending/doing it?
That's absolutely normal since your abdominal and back muscles were tight for a long time. After I begin breathing exercises I experienced some pain and unpleasant neuralgia symptoms in my chest and belly. Try to palpate your muscles to find tight and painful areas of your chest, belly and back. In my case, tight and painful abdominal muscles were caused by abnormal posture, as I walked with weight shifted forward and my abdominal muscles were involved to support such an incorrect bearing. When I changed my bearing I felt that my waist muscles started to work, since they got tired.
This is how sufi's in islamic tradition have done meditation for centuries. There are four schools of such tradition known as 'Naqshbandi', 'qadriyya', 'chistiya' and 'suharwardi'. Wheel doesn't have to be reinvented.
The breathing pattern is different. With Yoga, the breathing is in and out through the nose, to create a sense of stillness. With Reichian breathing, the inbreath is through the nose with the mouth closed and the outbreath is through the open mouth. The purpose of Reichian breathing is to feel the life energy and over time to bring unconscious material to consciousness in a safe and empowered way.

Have you heard of from surving to thriving by Pete Walker ? It’s a great book for what your describing here
I just tried it out and got strong immediate results...maybe felt more Parasympathetic response than with belly breathing....Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much! love and light!
Thank you so much.

Is the Reichian method connected to yoga in some way?
