❤I had a ticket to that concert and traveled from Zakopane on a crowded overnight train just to attend it. I got off at the Central station right near The Palace of Culture and Science where the concert was taking place that evening. At 7 am a dense crowd of "hopefuls" extending as far as an eye could see was already surrounding the Palace and I realized that I would not be able to go. I was pregnant; pushing through the crowd was not an option. A friend who got my ticket managed to get in but many ticket holders were not as lucky... Such was Cohen's fame in Poland those days. Today, scrolling through RUclips for Cohen's music, I found this live recording. Nearly 40 years later, I am finally able to listen to the concert I missed that day. And it is great. Thank you Chopin1995 for posting it and best regards from Montreal :) ❤
Wow, what a story! I love reading concert stories and testimonies, especially from the times before I was born. Fascinating to read about the circumstances of this concert. I'm sorry you couldn't attend the concert despite having a ticket. Hopefully you had a good time in Poland anyway. At least you can finally watch it, after all these years, which is just wonderful. Thank you for this beautiful comment and best regards to you from the south of Poland (not Zakopane, but pretty close anyway) :)

I work in mental health. This album has been a game changer for a person who struggles with depression and anxiety/ autism. Lenard is still working his magic
I saw Leonard Cohen live for the first time in Manchester during this tour. My abiding memory is of a sharp suited, gravel voiced, lothario able to weave a very peculiar brand of magic on stage that was all his own.
Only Leonard could speak this eloquently, yet tactfully, about painful history in a country of its origin. Only Leonard could address the nuances of the political situation in 1985 Poland without alienating anyone there. Not only the lyrical and musical genius, but also a superb human being. How lucky for all of us to have experienced him in our lives.
I truly believe the messages in this song were for today, when this planet needs this kind of love in prayer. We are all hurting today. I only hope this whole planet learns the lesson of what life is all about. We all will die somehow some day, but the reason for our coming is to learn to love and care for one another. We are all part of each other we were created for that reason.

I saw this tour in Birmingham, England. I remember a stampede at the end and a mini-stage invasion with LC gracefully receiving hugs from audience members.

Thank you so much.It means so much to listen to Leonard in Warsaw. He says so many meaningful things. We have difficult memories of Warsaw. Leonard was able to overcome and make the best of his feelings and be sympathetic with your people and our people's history there. I lost most of my family in Poland.
I was surprised and impressed that he tried hard to speak simple English and pronounce clearly. That was not so common in those days when musicians would travel to places where hardly anyone had a good command of English. Cohen showed respect.

Jeśli chciałby Pan zachować ten filmik to polecam go pobrać np. za pomocą chociażby 4K Video Downloader.

A propos Twojego nicka ... Leonard zrobil swoje , a inni mistrzowie pokazali jakim On jest /byl s.p. Leonard Cohen/ Mistrzem
Jeśli chciałby Pan zachować ten filmik to polecam go pobrać np. za pomocą chociażby 4K Video Downloader.
Thank You so much!💗
he will always be my idol
❤❤This is way we all love you so much!!! You are Love. Sir- CHONE. ❤❤
thanks Chopin..and thanks Leonard
I ❤ his 🎵...
As a song writer, he was great. As a Jew, he sure sang a lot about Jesus.
Very interesting, becouse it's not the usual band, with some different arrangements.
I love you Leonard ❤

Em agosto de 1981 estive em Varsóvia. Quase ninguém falava ingles, "provavelmente por ser a lingua do inimigo".
