For Gabe, “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me-watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11:28-30 Jesus is the way. You are not alone in feeling the way you do. Jesus sees you.

I am glad they talk about Gabe’s burn out and mental health.
So many people struggle with mental health and stay silent, and speaking about it is so helpful for the person that is in pain. I am proud of you for sharing.

As a health care worker I understand, and lived burnout, I understand what you are staying! I left my job because I knew I would be no use to anyone if I continued at that pace! I now have a job where I work only 40 hours/ week, and am finding more balance in life, enjoying having a day of rest (Sabbath) one day a week ( which is a gift and command from our Father God), and starting to feel built up inwardly and outwardly! Ask God how He wants you to move forward. He gives wisfom yo those who ask!❤

Mental health issues are so tough. I've experienced mental health issues my whole life and I know it can be exhausting, it can feel hopeless. I know it's also hard to support your spouse dealing with these things. God bless my husband.
Jess, your support towards Gabe means the world and any effects it has on you plus your own individual mind and experience are valid. Gabe, you are not weak or a burden. Take care, both of you. ❤

I left my job earlier this year for several reasons, but burnout was one of them. What I originally thought would be a couple months of a break turned into the past nine months of a sabbatical and it’s been SO GOOD! If you’re able to financially do it, then do it!! I learned so much and just accepted a new job and feel super rested and excited for the next season. It was also so great to see the Lord‘s faithfulness and provision, when I was obedient and learning how to rest with Him 💗

I loved this comment! It’s awesome you were able to take a break and slow down for a bit ❤️ I’m going through something similar, except I lost my job. But looking back I was definitely experiencing burnout, working in customer service at a bussssy bank drove me to feel burnout. From the job itself to the people coming in and being short staffed. I haven’t been working for nearly 4 months now (and am obviously looking for a full time job), but I do agree that the time off has been so good. Definitely think Gabe (and everyone really) could use a few months off to recharge 🫶🏻 sending love to everyone experiencing burnout right now 💕

I feel bad for Gabe, sometimes it seems him and Jess are in different areas of their careers which can be tough. He’s been doing this so much longer than her and seems ready to be done. Jess seems like she still has sooo much she wants to do in social media. I can see that being difficult in a marriage. Hopefully they can come to an accordance.

Scheduling a regular rest period can be so vital. In your rhythm of life, knowing you have April and October, for example, to look forward to as elongated times of rest and being unplugged can be a game changer! ❤

This was a lovely candid conversation. I thought it was interesting that when Jess brought up the concept of “long service leave” in Australia, Gabe immediately brought up that companies probably fire people before they are able to use their long service leave. This struck me as a very visceral difference in the work-life balance culture in America vs. pretty much every other developed nation. It’s seen as radical here in America to take this kind of break, and pretty much laugh-able to expect to receive a paid leave like this in most jobs. We can’t even get adequate maternity and paternity leave here in the states to take care of a brand new human, yet alone to take care of ourselves. It’s really sad. It’s nice that Gabe and Jess will be able to find a solution that works for them and make sure Gabe can take proper time to log off and rejuvenate and I wish that was the case for the majority of Americans :( Sending hugs, Gabe. I’ve been through burnout and it’s tough. Praying for y’all during this season. Hugs from Dallas!

I work a regular restaurant job.. it’s not very hard work and i experience burn out. I think with anything you’ve been doing for an extended period of time will cause burn out. I think it’s a normal reaction.. take the time you need! Also, about resting, we don’t let ourselves fully rest without feeling guilty about it.. and I know it’s easier said than done.. but please rest without the guilt! We will all support you guys no matter what!

I totally understand how Gabe is feeling, after working since 2013 to 2020 I strted feeling really down and depressed, i realized that the more I was moving up in supervisory and management the less connected I felt with people and I needed something much more fulfilling. everybody kept telling me dont leave please stay, you're the best TL we had but for my own sanity i needed to get back to basics. I decided to get out of office, out of admin and just go for a housekeeping job at a care home and i went down from 40 hours to 30 and 4 day week. Insane difference and so much more peace, cleaning calms me down, keeps me grounded and focused and stops me stressing over things i cant control. Gabe I'll say this till im blue in the face and i keep repeating to everyone do CBT. it's the only thing that works. I tried all sorts of things from drugs to holidays but Cognitive Behavioural Therapy helped me understand where my mind was going and how to think in a way that helps me.

As a business owner, mom & care giver. Burnout is deeply real. You get trapped because there is no pto, no one to fill your shoes etc. I’ve learned that hiring help is essential, you need to sub out literally everything you can. Someone that reads emails, does socials , sets your schedule, orders your food, charges your cameras etc. we all have the same 25hrs in our pie chart… if you need more chill time, somethings have to be moved off to make more space

talking about getting fired for having paid leave for a burnout, that happened to me twice now actually, with one happening this year, i was feeling badly burnout by working everyday, barley even being home and seeing my partner, i was planning on talking about this with my boss but then i got into an accident, i fractured my knee really bad, i told this to my boss and also about the burnout, he didn't believe me so he fired me, which forced me to find another job so i could still pay for bills ect, which didn't helped my healing process and made this worse, so sadly those things happen, please take care of yourself Gabe! all the best wishes

He can always getting a part time job to get a change of scenery and not feel so tied to online stuff. He needs to change it up once in a while most of us experience that at our jobs. We all want to do a flawless job and not get criticized or burnout from working so hard and not always taking those breaks at work or mini getaways to recharge.

Hi, as I struggled with several burn outs before I would like to mention, you probably have already, to get your bloodwork tested. If you have a low levels of Vitamine B12, Vitamine D and Iron, and high levels of cortisol it can burn you out over and over again. I now take supplements by breaking the capsule, so the powder in it can be absorbed in the mouth already, also taking vitamin D in spray in the mouth and it helped me to remain stable and not feel burn out. Sometimes your gut isn’t able to absorb these vitamins through your diet and it needs a little help. Wishing you both health and happiness 🙏🏻♥️

The thing that is burning you out is actually your soul not feeling fulfilled anymore, you are going down a path you have outgrown. And sometimes it’s harder realizing that the you that you are are always changing and evolving. Pushing yourself into the same old mold because it ones worked, IS what makes you burnout. Sit in silence and try to hear your souls whispers. Neglecting the inner voice is how it starts… sounds like you need to listen more deep Gabe.. ❤

Should you not have been influencers, you probably wouldn't have the F1 opportunity. It's an effort but worth putting more weight on the good. Nonetheless, you have such a healthy approach to everything, I am sure you will be feeling more like yourself soon. Much love and support.

Hey Gabe if you see this, I highly recommend doing the “16 personalities” test online. I’ve been dealing with really serious burnout for months now and after doing that test, it gave me tons of feedback about why I’m burnt out and what type of things affect me most daily. I also learned that certain personality types are prone to burnout for certain reasons and it can be really constructive & helpful to learn more about yourself in order to approach life/work in a way that works better for you personally.
Sending lots of positive energy your way!😌

Gabe and Jess, take some time off between Christmas and the new year. Shut down all of the camera's, block out your calendar for all of January in the years following next year because you know you need it this time of year. Make it your plan to step away. Be bored, be relaxed, enjoy life. So many people, myself included, regret not taking that leave, or enjoying being young.

I’m wondering, what if Gabe is supposed to be talking about mental health? When you go through something, you’re able to speak about it in a language people can relate to. I think when you have a platform, God works through you to showcase to others they aren’t alone in this common experience. Common doesn’t make it fun or normal or how one should operate indefinitely. While I wish you weren’t going through it, I think it’s amazing you’re sharing. Holidays can be so polarizing, some have a wonderful time while others are just trying to get through to new years. Praying for a purposeful restoration to arrive. Blessings to you and your family in Jesus name. 🤍 🕊️

Hi, just a genuine question from a non American. Why would anyone move anywhere near where tornadoes are a real threat? Not being American I never understood why people willingly live where there is a risk of injury or death. Thanks in advance❤

    • @Walkinjoy
      @Walkinjoy 6 месяцев назад

@@soullessnight6539 honestly tornadoes are a threat anywhere in the Midwest and south/southeast. And they can happen anywhere really. They’ve been occurring in the southeast more and more frequently in recent years. In America you’re not really “safe” from a tornado. Also people have lived in these areas for generations and we’re not gonna abandon a whole geographic of the US cause of bad weather. There’s other types of bad weather in the US too. For example, New England has blizzards. Southwest has extreme heat at times. Places like Minnesota have extreme cold temps. Can’t escape bad weather over here unfortunately.

@@Walkinjoyaww, thank you so much for your reply. I guess I understand the generational thing and not wanting to leave. I just don’t think I could move anywhere were the risk of natural disasters are a yearly thing… I would just be too scared. You may laugh now that I tell you, I’m Australian😂… I know people have this world view that Australia is dangerous. There are parts of the State of Queensland that I have wanted to move to bc it’s just so incredibly beautiful, but every few years there is major flooding so I would never consider living there. Thank you again for you explanation. Please stay safe❤

Gabe, I recommend the book: Hope and Help for your nerves from Dr Claire Weeks. She explains how to get out the mental burn out cycle for good. I’ve done everything and she’s done it herself. You will get better, there is lifetime freedom from feeling exhausted. Sending prayers ❤

I would of thought there would be safe guards for this situation. It is very hard to legally fire someone in Australia and if it just happened prior to being entitled to LSL, legally they would have to pay you out? I do, however remember I started my full time job when I was nineteen, stayed five years and resigned as we were moving to a new State. After five years you are entitled to part payout of your Long Service Leave and I was excited to get those weeks but was informed that I was not entitled to it as Long Service Leave only starts accruing from when you are a senior (21), I was so sad😂. I’m just curious on how people you know were sacked prior to their ten years so the employer didn’t have to pay them out when LSL, after five years is payable on a sliding scale?

I think this is the second or third time that Gabe experiences a phase of depression at this time of the year, which totally makes sense. Holidays and the end of the year can be stressful. We hope you have a nice Christmas break Jess and Gabe, with Makaiah and the Bauers!
