He got a sample and make copies of them then can hide their reiatsu for stealth. That is why no one sensed them there in the human world.

Basically what happened to the Visored, happened to Isshin and Masaki. But instead of infecting Isshin with hollowification, Masaki was infected. That is why Aizen was curious to see what will happen.
[Tidbits or Clarifications][Lotta reading, my bad lol] - Ichigo running away from the conversation was always a nice bit for me because it's not the 1st time he's done so, Ichigo will run head first into a physical fight but battles that deal with the mind and soul scare him. [Definitions for Some of those Quincy Words] - Seiren is the name for Quincy Training it means "Holy Training" -Funfte Feld is a training location for Quincy (Given what Ryukens mother says, it can be assumed that his Father spends more time training his Quincy abilities than with his family) - Echt Quincy are Quincy that are part of pure-blood lines (He we learn that both the Ishida and Kurosaki families are Pure-Blood Quincies) (Quilge J-The Jail was one, and many Assume Haschwalth is as well) - Gemischt Quincy are Quincy with mixed blood and seem to be of somewhat lower class than Echt Quincy - Many people get confused by Misaki calling Ryuken's Mother "Aunt Izumi" seeing as tho there seems to be some talk of marriage. Misaki is the last living member of a pure-blood Quincy Lineage (They took her in seemingly for that reason, which is why Ryuken questions if she'd be happy marrying him). So this doesn't prove any direct blood relation between them (So we don't know exactly how related the families were if it all aside from being Pure Quincy) - Aizen, Gin, and Tosen are using the Cloaks that Hide people's spiritual pressence. Urahara invented and used during the Turn Back the Pendulumn flash back to sneak up on Aizen. - In the manga when Aizen slashes Isshin, we learn that he does so to stop Isshin from using Bankai, apparently Isshin bankai takes a toll on his body so he cant activate it if he's sustained a certain amount of damage - Given the conversation between Aizen and Tosen, they made White to hollowfy Shinigami, White seems to have chosen Misaki to hollowfy, which clearly has never been done. (It was cool to see something that genuinely excites Aizen, cant forget that he's a scientist and the idea of discovering something new truly excited him)
Not entirely true,he did get his sword in Hollow form remember when he got it when he was training with Urahara.He didn't get one from the creator of Zanpacto,he got his in Hollow form.Manga reader here.

That is actually a key thing here, Nimaia clearly stated no Shinigami ever had a Zanpaktou without one and that he knows where every single one is. Its all but directly stated Ichigo does not have one. So Mild spoiler in the form of a question/hint below... . . . . . . . . That brings up the question, what is it that Ichigo has? Arrancar also had a "Zanpaktou", but that was due to Aizens meddling with the Hogyokou. Did Ichigo awaken one on his own, a feat no other Shinigami could do, did Aizens meddling through White doing...something... to Masaki here do something to simulate an Asauchi in Ichigo, or is what he has been swinging around not a Zanpaktou?

Ichigo is basically Aizen's partially accidental experiment that combines a Hollow, Quincy & a Shinigami into a single natural being. Meaning Ichigo's naturally a transcendent being! Damn. lol

@@Raffalius well there are other people besides ishiin there, so his shikai won't work on everybody since not everybody seen his release, for example masaki, ryu, and katagiri would have also been able to see them. So the cloaks still come in handy

At this point in the story the Vizard story happened around 80 years ago. This flashback takes place in the late 70s-early 80s based on when the Bleach takes place (very early 2000s) because when Urahara and Isshin talk during the GF situation it is mentioned that is had been 20 years since he was a Shinigami. Shinji didn't recognize Isshin's reiatsu when he first appeared as a shinigami and killed the grand fisher so he became a Captain after they had left already. Chances are that Isshin had only known about the Vizards in the same way that everyone else in the SS did, through the official word of the Gotei 13 and the Central 46. Aizen, Gin and Tousen had been doing hollow experiments since the Vizard flash back if not before. Also Isshin didn't use bankai because of the cut Aizen gave him, that's why Aizen attacked him. Aizen knew that Isshin's bankai takes a toll on his body so he can't use it with such a deep cut.

MASAKI IS SO COLD! The fact you can see all of Ichigo’s character within his mom and dad so clearly is WILD to me. Everything But The Rain is so damn good, also think of the Kurosaki and Ishida family as royal Quincy families like the Shiba Family(Isshin’s family) is a Royal family in the Soul Society. Remember a few episodes back when Kukaku Shiba apologized to their “Uncle” for letting Ichigo go with the Zero Squad. MY BOY URYU GETTING 2 MORE SECONDS OF SCREEN TIME! LET’S GO! One thing that isn’t mentioned in anime is that Aizen’s crew are taking advantage of the spiritual pressure masking cloak that Urahara used in the Visored incident. That’s how Aizen was able to ambush Isshin without being identified. It also confirms this happens after that incident.

Well, I hope she have orange hair as well (or something like her in the original anime). However, Ichigo hair color (orange) definitely come from Masaki bloodline like you said. Which is the same as Ichigo face that don't closely resemble Isshin but Kaien instead.
Damn I wish we had part 2 of this today! I love this backstory so much it's so cool. Couple things yes it's his dad Ryuuken Ishida him and Masaki are both Pure Blood Quincy that what he meant by Echt Yes this takes place after Urahara and the Vizards left. During the episode Aizen says they can test this hollow and try and flush Shiniji out of hiding at the same time.

Ryuuken is Uryuu's dad. Ishiin Shiba is related to the Shiba clan, Kukaku's uncle White is the name of Ichigo's inner hollow. This takes place 20 years before current time, and about 180 to 200 years after the Vaizard captain's time, Aizen's hollowfication experiments on them, and Kisuke's exile.
Aizen made a reference to Isshin's bankai in the manga saying that puts a heavy burden on his body. That's why he wounded him, to keep Isshin from using it.

Isshin's zanpakuto is Engetsu. He spoke the name to invoke shikai state. My suspicion is that White imitates Engetsu and calls itself Zangetsu. Ichigo's Quincy powers supressed White by keeping white as the zanpakuto he was imitating and took over that identity to protect Ichigo from it. With white suppressed he only allowed the Quincy power to be wielded with his Soul Reaper power, but as white grew stronger, some of that hollow power had to be incorporated.
Masaki best girl. Looking back on how isshin revered his wife at the beginning of the show makes a lot of sense to me now. She deserves all that praise
I went back on the scene before the end credits roll to reread that dialogue again as well, I got the same thing from it as you. "White" basically imparted itself and it's spiritual pressure into Misaki. Next weeks double episode (1 hour long they say) to end this first cour is going to be INSANE!
10:00 if you remember Ginjo said that fullbringers get their powers from when their moms were attacked by hollows and the hollow”s reiatsu goes inside their bodies . So by white biting her his reiatus went into her body and ichigo inherited it
Something cut from the episode was Isshin wanted to use his bankai but says he's too injured. This could mean Azien knows of his bankai and slashed him to prevent him from using it.
A detail that gets left out is that Aizen attacked Isshin to prevent him from using Bankai. Aizen states that Isshin’s Bankai puts too much strain on the body so if injured he can’t use it. So if you’re wondering “well damn why didnt he go bankai for this if he was struggling like that” thats why. A weird detail to omit

Aizen said the hollow is named "White" because that is his "inside" color while his surface is Black. That links to how Ichigo too was a Shinigami on surface but Quincy on the inside.
Some things to point out: - Urahara + Shinji and Co. left the Soul Society 100 years ago. The timeline of when Isshin was a Captain or even joined the squads is unclear, maybe he was just a squad 10 officer when their shit happened and so wasn't directly involved. So the events of this episode have to be around 20-30 years ago, maybe. - Metastasis is a term typically associated with cancer, meaning the cancer has spread to other sites of the body. I'm not sure if that cancerous looking mass White had in his chest was placed their or if it was grown from eating Soul Reapers or something. Maybe Aizen harvests them from the failures and keeps them in those jars we saw. I'm thinking White Metasticized a bit of that growth into Masaki, which then passed to Ichigo to become Ichigo's hollow powers.

I see what they did now in the anime. They took out the extra explanation scenes. The dad was actually walking the hollow(Ichigo) was about to go bankai in win. So aizen realizing this cut him before he did. I remember the dad was overpowering him. Only started to lose once he got cut in the back. They cut that part out I see. Maybe they will show it in the anime that's why. Idk. Are maybe that part will be explained next ep.
About whether Masaki being a special Quincy; she's an Echt or "pure-blooded" Quincy, meaning she's of noble blood. She also happens to be the last of the Kurosaki bloodline in that flashback, so yeah, she is definitely special.
Squad 10 is hella smart, they’re usually the ones who does all the detective work to figure out what’s going on. During the situation with Aizen fake death it was squad 10 figuring out what was happening and putting the pieces together.
In the books, kubo said ishin zampakuto is the strongest elemental zampakuto, stronger than yamamoto. In the manga , aizen said that ishin can't use his bankai with his wound cause it would kill him it's too powerful
Aizen mentions looking for Shinji because those events of Turning Back the Pendulum arc was 100yrs ago. The events with Ichigos dad and mom happened roughly 17-18yrs ago. Ect Quincy = pure blood. “Shouldn’t spill our blood so easy” Also, Renji knew that Ichigo didn’t gain his zanpaktou from an Ausachi. His sword came when he absorbed Rukia’s power. So he doesn’t have a zanpaktou to reforge sing his was never forged to begin with.
@12:13 they were creating hollows from dead shinigami that had the ability to hollowfy its targets ... they were attemting to do what they did to the shinji group 100 years prior but no one was successful. This hollow witt that ability then decided to try and hollowfy masaki who is a quincy and polar opposite of a hollow/shinigami being a quincy human
Just remembered that Isshin being foreshadowed of being part of the shiba clan in the manga was never as pronounced as it was in the Anime we didn't get that flashback image kukaku had in the anime so it was quite a big surprise! Love this backstory ! Amazing episode man this is setting up the story so well. Just a clarification about Isshin's Zanpakuto. Engetsu is a Fire/Reiatsu based Zanpakuto. It does unleash fire, but Isshin can also amplify its attacks with his own blood which riles up Engetsu's flames. That's what you see him doing when he spits blood unto it. Not sure if that was a Getsuga Tenshou, but we do know that he has that ability as well. It's originally his technique.
Take note his name is Ishiin Shiba, confirmation of him being Kukaku and Ganju's uncle, relating to the Shiba clan. Now after all these years we know why Kaien Shiba looks so much like Ichigo. Cousins.
@10:20 they didnt include it in this episode and probably wont for the next but the reason aizen cut him is because white backed him into a corner and isshin was going to go bankai. Aizen knew that due to the severity of the cut isshin would no longer be able to do so due to the strain on his body
Echt Quincy are "pureblood" Quincy (ie. Masaki, Ryuken, and the Sternritters) while the Gemischt are "mixed blood" Quincy (ie. the Quincy foot soldiers) who have interbred with humans so much that they are weaker. Also, given how ridiculously powerful her blut was, how did Grand Fisher manage to even scratch Masaki? Something must have been going on in that situation that hasn't yet been revealed...
In the manga Aizen explained that he cut Isshin because this way he couldn't have used his bankai against White, since with that wound it would have been a problem for him to use it.

I am so glad to see someone appreciating Katagiri's motivation for telling Ryuken's mother about the injury by White. It may have caused drama, but it's obvious that she's trying to prevent the arranged marriage from failing. So very goal oriented when it comes to Ryuken. It's the same reason why I love that she stays with him when he tries to say he's a failure. Also gotta say that Misaki letting her guard down in order to point blank White makes so much sense when we realize her Blut Vene's strength is revealed. Like of course she'd do that; low risk and high reward.
Did everyone notice when ichigo is in despair it starts to rain...like the white hollow when he is there is also rains... Like his mom died it starts to rain, and when byakuya and renji took rukia it rain and then the guy took ichigo's power it rain, and when the soul reapers died it rained too...
This episode is so well done. The animation quality is peak asf omg. Also the pacing and development between isshin and masaki doesnt feel rushed at all. Wished both of them can live together until their are old but =(

Yes, it's Uryu dad. It's crazy how so many people are part of the same thread connected to the needle of Bleach. Remember, Toshiro and Rangiku both have been to ichigo's house, but no one said anything about his dad. To sum it up, Ichigo has his father's SR bloodline, his mom's Quincy bloodline, some unknown SR bloodline and Hollow bloodline mixed together and Fullbringer capabilities, while also being a supped up human. Even more crazy reveals coming next week with a full hour show, two episodes next Monday.
I don't think Toshiro and Rangiku know that Ichigo is a child of Ishin as he never shows up in front of other soul reapers, always kepping himself low key. (I haven't read the manga so if it explain later that they knew, don't need to answer)
If you go back and watch the episodes when they all showed up at ichigo's house during the Arrancar Arc, he was actually there, they just didn't come through the front door, except Rukia. They all came through the ceiling light. I believe there was only a few that pieced together that he was somehow related to the Shiba Clan, Ukitake, I believe Rukia definitely had some clue. Ganju definitely knew he was Isshin's kid, and his sister.

Ukitake and Rukia just thought they looked similiar, but I don't think they know (Ukitake might know now after investigating Ichigo)

He answered the question on wether or not Toshiro and Rangiku knew who he was in the world of the living, Kubo said yes, they didn't approach him or Ichigo about it out of respect. Remember guys, Rangiku was there when Ichigo and his father came out of the Dangai, he was in his full shinighami outfit right before Ichigo fought Aizen. Checkout some of his interviews, he touches a lot of topics and unanswered question's, he just recently answered a question about the ending of bleach that was really popular.

Basically what happened to the Visored, happened to Isshin and Masaki. But instead of infecting Isshin with hollowification, Masaki was infected. That is why Aizen was curious to see what will happen.
He reacted like a scientist exposed to an unexpected variable. It's equally interesting, so the situation is worthwhile research material.

- Ichigo running away from the conversation was always a nice bit for me because it's not the 1st time he's done so, Ichigo will run head first into a physical fight but battles that deal with the mind and soul scare him.
[Definitions for Some of those Quincy Words]
- Seiren is the name for Quincy Training it means "Holy Training"
-Funfte Feld is a training location for Quincy (Given what Ryukens mother says, it can be assumed that his Father spends more time training his Quincy abilities than with his family)
- Echt Quincy are Quincy that are part of pure-blood lines (He we learn that both the Ishida and Kurosaki families are Pure-Blood Quincies)
(Quilge J-The Jail was one, and many Assume Haschwalth is as well)
- Gemischt Quincy are Quincy with mixed blood and seem to be of somewhat lower class than Echt Quincy
- Many people get confused by Misaki calling Ryuken's Mother "Aunt Izumi" seeing as tho there seems to be some talk of marriage. Misaki is the last living member of a pure-blood Quincy Lineage (They took her in seemingly for that reason, which is why Ryuken questions if she'd be happy marrying him). So this doesn't prove any direct blood relation between them (So we don't know exactly how related the families were if it all aside from being Pure Quincy)
- Aizen, Gin, and Tosen are using the Cloaks that Hide people's spiritual pressence. Urahara invented and used during the Turn Back the Pendulumn flash back to sneak up on Aizen.
- In the manga when Aizen slashes Isshin, we learn that he does so to stop Isshin from using Bankai, apparently Isshin bankai takes a toll on his body so he cant activate it if he's sustained a certain amount of damage
- Given the conversation between Aizen and Tosen, they made White to hollowfy Shinigami, White seems to have chosen Misaki to hollowfy, which clearly has never been done. (It was cool to see something that genuinely excites Aizen, cant forget that he's a scientist and the idea of discovering something new truly excited him)

Little cool detail. Aizen, Gin and Tosen is invisible due to Aizen's shikai, but Isshin can't sense their spiritual presence due to them wearing Urahara's cloaks.
In the manga Isshin yells: Who are you, where are you hiding after getting slashed. Aizen and gang was surprised he noticed he was slashed by a shinigami and not a hollow.
Aizen and gang was about to leave before Masaki showed up. They assumed Isshin would die against the hollow, due to the wound he received.
Aizen said: His bankai is quite a burden on his body. He won't be able to use it with that wound. If a captain is able to defeat it with his shikai, it means that sample was a failure in the first place.

@@Raffalius well there are other people besides ishiin there, so his shikai won't work on everybody since not everybody seen his release, for example masaki, ryu, and katagiri would have also been able to see them. So the cloaks still come in handy

With regards to the second point, they never saw him in person I don't think.
At this point in the story the Vizard story happened around 80 years ago. This flashback takes place in the late 70s-early 80s based on when the Bleach takes place (very early 2000s) because when Urahara and Isshin talk during the GF situation it is mentioned that is had been 20 years since he was a Shinigami.
Shinji didn't recognize Isshin's reiatsu when he first appeared as a shinigami and killed the grand fisher so he became a Captain after they had left already. Chances are that Isshin had only known about the Vizards in the same way that everyone else in the SS did, through the official word of the Gotei 13 and the Central 46.
Aizen, Gin and Tousen had been doing hollow experiments since the Vizard flash back if not before.
Also Isshin didn't use bankai because of the cut Aizen gave him, that's why Aizen attacked him. Aizen knew that Isshin's bankai takes a toll on his body so he can't use it with such a deep cut.

Everything But The Rain is so damn good, also think of the Kurosaki and Ishida family as royal Quincy families like the Shiba Family(Isshin’s family) is a Royal family in the Soul Society.

One thing that isn’t mentioned in anime is that Aizen’s crew are taking advantage of the spiritual pressure masking cloak that Urahara used in the Visored incident. That’s how Aizen was able to ambush Isshin without being identified. It also confirms this happens after that incident.

Well, I hope she have orange hair as well (or something like her in the original anime). However, Ichigo hair color (orange) definitely come from Masaki bloodline like you said. Which is the same as Ichigo face that don't closely resemble Isshin but Kaien instead.

Isshin's zanpakuto is Engetsu. He spoke the name to invoke shikai state. My suspicion is that White imitates Engetsu and calls itself Zangetsu. Ichigo's Quincy powers supressed White by keeping white as the zanpakuto he was imitating and took over that identity to protect Ichigo from it. With white suppressed he only allowed the Quincy power to be wielded with his Soul Reaper power, but as white grew stronger, some of that hollow power had to be incorporated.

Something cut from the episode was Isshin wanted to use his bankai but says he's too injured. This could mean Azien knows of his bankai and slashed him to prevent him from using it.

A detail that gets left out is that Aizen attacked Isshin to prevent him from using Bankai. Aizen states that Isshin’s Bankai puts too much strain on the body so if injured he can’t use it.
So if you’re wondering “well damn why didnt he go bankai for this if he was struggling like that” thats why. A weird detail to omit

Aizen said the hollow is named "White" because that is his "inside" color while his surface is Black. That links to how Ichigo too was a Shinigami on surface but Quincy on the inside.
Just to confirm, Urahara is already in the world of the living(hiding from Soul Sociaty) when Aizen is looking for Vizards
Some things to point out:
- Urahara + Shinji and Co. left the Soul Society 100 years ago. The timeline of when Isshin was a Captain or even joined the squads is unclear, maybe he was just a squad 10 officer when their shit happened and so wasn't directly involved. So the events of this episode have to be around 20-30 years ago, maybe.
- Metastasis is a term typically associated with cancer, meaning the cancer has spread to other sites of the body. I'm not sure if that cancerous looking mass White had in his chest was placed their or if it was grown from eating Soul Reapers or something. Maybe Aizen harvests them from the failures and keeps them in those jars we saw. I'm thinking White Metasticized a bit of that growth into Masaki, which then passed to Ichigo to become Ichigo's hollow powers.

I see what they did now in the anime. They took out the extra explanation scenes. The dad was actually walking the hollow(Ichigo) was about to go bankai in win. So aizen realizing this cut him before he did. I remember the dad was overpowering him. Only started to lose once he got cut in the back. They cut that part out I see. Maybe they will show it in the anime that's why. Idk. Are maybe that part will be explained next ep.
About whether Masaki being a special Quincy; she's an Echt or "pure-blooded" Quincy, meaning she's of noble blood. She also happens to be the last of the Kurosaki bloodline in that flashback, so yeah, she is definitely special.

In the books, kubo said ishin zampakuto is the strongest elemental zampakuto, stronger than yamamoto. In the manga , aizen said that ishin can't use his bankai with his wound cause it would kill him it's too powerful
Aizen mentions looking for Shinji because those events of Turning Back the Pendulum arc was 100yrs ago. The events with Ichigos dad and mom happened roughly 17-18yrs ago.

Also, Renji knew that Ichigo didn’t gain his zanpaktou from an Ausachi. His sword came when he absorbed Rukia’s power. So he doesn’t have a zanpaktou to reforge sing his was never forged to begin with.

This hollow witt that ability then decided to try and hollowfy masaki who is a quincy and polar opposite of a hollow/shinigami being a quincy human

Just remembered that Isshin being foreshadowed of being part of the shiba clan in the manga was never as pronounced as it was in the Anime we didn't get that flashback image kukaku had in the anime so it was quite a big surprise! That Isshin was part shiba clan and part of squad 10 When this first came out 😯

Just a clarification about Isshin's Zanpakuto. Engetsu is a Fire/Reiatsu based Zanpakuto. It does unleash fire, but Isshin can also amplify its attacks with his own blood which riles up Engetsu's flames. That's what you see him doing when he spits blood unto it.
Not sure if that was a Getsuga Tenshou, but we do know that he has that ability as well. It's originally his technique.
Take note his name is Ishiin Shiba, confirmation of him being Kukaku and Ganju's uncle, relating to the Shiba clan. Now after all these years we know why Kaien Shiba looks so much like Ichigo. Cousins.
@10:20 they didnt include it in this episode and probably wont for the next but the reason aizen cut him is because white backed him into a corner and isshin was going to go bankai. Aizen knew that due to the severity of the cut isshin would no longer be able to do so due to the strain on his body
Echt Quincy are "pureblood" Quincy (ie. Masaki, Ryuken, and the Sternritters) while the Gemischt are "mixed blood" Quincy (ie. the Quincy foot soldiers) who have interbred with humans so much that they are weaker.
Also, given how ridiculously powerful her blut was, how did Grand Fisher manage to even scratch Masaki? Something must have been going on in that situation that hasn't yet been revealed...

In the manga Aizen explained that he cut Isshin because this way he couldn't have used his bankai against White, since with that wound it would have been a problem for him to use it.
The bite essentially infected misaki so the hollows reiatsu went into her.

I am so glad to see someone appreciating Katagiri's motivation for telling Ryuken's mother about the injury by White. It may have caused drama, but it's obvious that she's trying to prevent the arranged marriage from failing. So very goal oriented when it comes to Ryuken. It's the same reason why I love that she stays with him when he tries to say he's a failure.
Also gotta say that Misaki letting her guard down in order to point blank White makes so much sense when we realize her Blut Vene's strength is revealed. Like of course she'd do that; low risk and high reward.

Yes, it's Uryu dad. It's crazy how so many people are part of the same thread connected to the needle of Bleach. Remember, Toshiro and Rangiku both have been to ichigo's house, but no one said anything about his dad.
To sum it up, Ichigo has his father's SR bloodline, his mom's Quincy bloodline, some unknown SR bloodline and Hollow bloodline mixed together and Fullbringer capabilities, while also being a supped up human.

If you go back and watch the episodes when they all showed up at ichigo's house during the Arrancar Arc, he was actually there, they just didn't come through the front door, except Rukia. They all came through the ceiling light.
I believe there was only a few that pieced together that he was somehow related to the Shiba Clan, Ukitake, I believe Rukia definitely had some clue. Ganju definitely knew he was Isshin's kid, and his sister.

He answered the question on wether or not Toshiro and Rangiku knew who he was in the world of the living, Kubo said yes, they didn't approach him or Ichigo about it out of respect.
Remember guys, Rangiku was there when Ichigo and his father came out of the Dangai, he was in his full shinighami outfit right before Ichigo fought Aizen.
