what videos would you like to see?! i'm motivated to film but am out of ideas so any suggestions would be lovely 🙂
this was so fun! maybe books for laying out at the beach/pool! ☀️
or you should read Heartstopper/watch the show and vlog it because that’s the current obssession for me right now haha
I love your reading vlogs. Also just a day in your life video would be cool. And yeah, summer/beachy/vacationy recs!
If you liked this book you would like this book kinda video 🎉
Books you want to reread!
I don't know if this sounds weird but has anyone else wondered how Noelle manages her time, from doing youtube / social media, grad school aaand her job on top of that!? Super impressive and motivating! Loving this vid
When you said you wanted to see ‘Starry Night’ I immediately said ‘oh noooo’ 😂😂 it’s a beautiful painting to see in real life. Starry Night specifically is at MoMA. The MET in NYC also has quite a bit of Van Gogh paintings to enjoy as well.
True but it’s always so crowded…. I got a similar experience to when I went to see Mona Lisa. It’s so many people around because it’s so popular that it becomes difficult to painting
I love the windmill so much omg
I'm from the Netherlands so I'm very excited to see what you think of Amsterdam! How fun! The book center is such a good place to buy books in Amsterdam.
The book center, thnx voor de tip
Two other bookstores I really like in Amsterdam are Waterstones like Noelle mentions and the Scheltema bookstore
I just came back from a trip to the Netherlands and I gotta say, new FAVORITE COUNTRY! The countryside is soooo beautiful! And of course Amsterdam is Iconic!
@@sausana2501 right? I loved it there as well!!! :)
Wait, they have Waterstones outside of the UK?? Didn't know that. We don't have it here in Germany, our retailers have a different concept and setup. I love the cozy and "classic" atmosphere of Waterstones ❤
Just one in A Dam and I think one in Belgium??
I was surprised to see one in Amsterdam as well. I live in the north of the Netherlands and I'm used to seeing independent bookstores and Bruna a lot
A girl who travels and brings back an immersive video to share with her booktube followers/friends is a well raised human being ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ thanks for this.
My husband and I went to Amsterdam in 2018 and we went to the Van Gogh museum. My husband didn't consider himself a huge Van Gogh fan, but stopped dead at the boat in the water painting and called me over to stare at it. We now have a postcard of it on our fridge and he now has a favorite Van Gogh painting. :) It's really so beautiful.
I actually just went to a Van Gogh museum in Santa Barbra! They’ve got Monet too and a whole bunch of artists that inspired or were inspired by Van Gogh! They’re there until the end of May I believe! You should totally go😍
You saw Skull with Burning Cigarette! That is my favorite Van Gogh painting (and one of my favorites overall). Although his flowers are unparalleled in beauty.
Regarding video ideas, I really liked having a deep dive video on Hamnet so if you ever want to do a longer video on one book, I’d be thrilled! Summer book vibes video, TBRs, wrap ups, reading vlogs are all great. Would also be interested in a video on a certain genre/category (e.g. memoir recs, short story collection recs). I also really liked your “things I’m loving right now” videos you’ve done with jewelry, skincare, snacks, etc.! Those are so fun. Or maybe a book bucket list? Not necessarily a TBR but books you know you want to read at some point before you die?
Hope those are helpful!
I love seeing these mini travel vlogs in additional to your regular programming, you look so happy!
When I go abroad I like to find a bookstore to buy a book and write in the front cover where I got it and when, and some notes. Then when I see it on my shelf, even if it's not about the place, I can remember the trip and where I got it
I love that the jacket you bought is a shell suit jacket! We used to make fun of people who wore these! Yes Noelle! Bringing back the retro styling!!! xxx
I would love a video for the blind date with a book idea! It would be interesting seeing your thoughts on the one that you got in this video as well as any others you'd pick up.
Dropping everything down to watch anything that Noelle posts😌
It is so surreal to see Noelle in Amsterdam!!! I am a dutch subscriber and go to Uni in Amsterdam. Wish I would've bumped into you! Good to hear you had a nice time :) Much love to you!
I've been to the beach that inspired your favorite Van Gogh painting! probably the most beautiful place I've ever been to
Omg omg I am so excited! How cool to see Amsterdam through Noelle’s eyes!
Y🤩S ,,,,bed looks super comfy! Happy Monday Friends ✌🏽
Next time you visit you should definitly go to the Scheltema bookstore. It's like 5 stories high, and they have a lot of english language books and also a lot of second hand stuff. Definitely one of my favorite stores.
197k subscribers!!! So close to 200k. I hope you do a celebration video when you pass that milestone any second now.
Glad you got into the Van Gogh Museum! I have been as well (bought ticket online prior, very recommended to avoid LONG line/wait) and spent 4 hours there. Saw and learned so much, a true master.
I live here!! What!!!!
I always find it interseting when americans discover waterstones because here in the uk there is basically a waterstones in every town so they are just ... part and parcel for us :)
I’m so sorry but I literally went “girl you’re gonna cry because starry night is in New York 😭😭😭😭😭” I HOPE YOU LOVED IT ANYWAY I KNOW I DID
Noelle, I appreciate your chilled out vibe. This vid reminded me of my 2018 trip to Amsterdam, it's such a relaxed but eclectic city. Glad you enjoyed yourself too.
I'm Dutch and this was so fun to see!! Hope you enjoyed your time there even though it was short. ❤️
ooh that waterstone is super cool; thanks for sharing some of your experience!
My favorite painting of all time is Van Gogh's Irises. I got to see it last summer in LA at the Getty. Amazing. What a lovely trip, loved this video!
it's so fun to watch this as a dutch person who is scared of Amsterdam
I was in amsterdam 2 weeks ago and spend 2 hours in waterstones! I live in the Netherlands but in the south. Loved that bookstore! Bought beach read there! Glad you enjoyed your stay!!
The heart drop I experienced for you when you mentioned Starry Night. Also, I did not realise Waterstones existed out with the UK! My local Waterstones is tiny, but my goodness does it pack in as many books as possible (and it has a cute little fish tank).
Too bad we didn't bump into each other! 🤗 Was there earlier this week as well. And yeah, that painting is my fav as well! Love his signature in red.
Truly truly brightened my day, thank you Noelle. ❤
Wow, how fun to go to the Van Gogh Museum and Waterstones!
Love it! How fun and special you got to see the Van Gogh museum!!
Ahh watching this vlog made me want to visit the van gogh museum again! Last time I went was YEARS ago for a school trip. I don't go to Amsterdam a lot even though I live nearby, but when I go I always visit the english book stores :)
I'm Dutch so it's exciting to see you've visited! I hope you tried some stroopwafels and poffertjes because those are some of the few good Dutch foods lol. Also, I think waterstones is an UK bookstore, honestly I didn't know we had one in the Netherlands.
I remember sitting on that window seat in that Waterstones to text my mom, while violently hungover, on a Saturday morning when I was studying abroad in Amsterdam 😭😂😂😂
I can't believe my favourite booktuber was in Amsterdam and you did almost all of my favourite things! Hope you had an amazing time🌻🌻🌻. I somehow thought you had a van Gogh tattoo, but probably just imagined it..
lololol "I was filming on these things called..cameras" Idky but that really got me haha
I love a vlog that is mostly what you call “b roll”.
OMG YOU WERE HERE IN THE NETHERLANDS aaaah how exciting!!
The ABC bookstore is my favorite!! I got to interview one of their booksellers for a video and he was just absolutely lovely. That Waterstones store is the only one that's in the NL unfortunately, because it's such a lovely store.
so happy to be vicariously traveling through you!!!
Waterstones looks a lot like that in the UK, I really like the way they organise their shelves
Ahh I’ve never been so early to one of your vids before!! So excited to watch! Love your content and energy 💕💕
Omggg NOELLE!! I also LOVED that exact painting (the boat one) when I went to the Van Gogh museum a couple of years ago!! I got a postcard of that one and sunflowers as my souvenirs and have hung them up in my room ever since.
Starry Night is at MoMa, NYC! But the Van Gogh museum is amazing. I went 2 years ago and I loved it. Got myself a Sunflowers pin as a souvenir!
Such a fun video to watch for me as a Dutch person. The American Bookstore and Waterstones are great but if you' re ever back you should check out ' The Book Exchange'. This is such a cool second hand bookstore right in the centre of Amsterdam!
*starts to get the travel bug* 🙂🙂🙂 Always a pleasure Noelle! Glad you enjoyed your time in Amsterdam!!🌷
omg, Skull of a Skeleton with Burning Cigarette is my favorite painting by Van Gogh and right now I am totally jealous of your sister 'cause I collect postcards too!
Loved this vlog
You should try Foyle’s bookstore in London Charing Cross oh an jacket is called a shell suit I used to wear in late eights early nineties
Glad you enjoyed your time in Amsterdam! If you ever get the chance to go again, definitely check out the indie bookstores as well - there's a fantastic English language secondhand one called The Book Exchange, not too far away from where you were at Waterstones. And Simon Levelt coffee is delicious - I hope you enjoy that too when you try it :)
I'd recommend The Miniaturist if you're still looking for books set in Amsterdam :) I'm currently rereading it via audiobook and it's a good one, and now you've been there it could be interesting see an older version of it within the story!
Ahhh i love Amsterdam! I‘m from Germany, but I’m part Dutch so its very much home to me 🧡
the fresh soy cleanser is my fav
That was fun! I want to visit Amsterdam sooo bad, especially the van Gogh museum❤
Oh my gosh I got a kinda similar jacket on a trip to Berlin, it is actually the best. Always makes me so happy to wear it.
I'm just watching like "I was just there!!!!!!!" "I know exactly where she is!!!!!!!!"
I love Amsterdam - amazing Van Gogh haul
I love that you highlighted the texture on the walls😂♥️
I’m from the Netherlands 🥰 I hope you had a great day!
I totally smiled the whole time I was watching this! It just made me happy to see you so excited and happy. I'm glad you enjoyed your trip and shopping. All great buys and wonderful memories. ❤
i've commented so much but i just thought of another!! i remember from a while ago when i first started watching your videos, your friend bought you still life by sarah winman. i was so in awe of the cover and with that video that i bought 2 of her books when i went to oregon last month!! i read tin man which was awesome and so heartbreaking. in the middle of still life right now, having a hard time understanding a lot of what is going on!! anyway, just wanted to let you know what i was reading!!!!! have a great day noelle 💐
I'm really hoping you made it to the english used book store - best book store in the city!
I was there in march and also thought starry night was in the museum 😂😂, but I was definitely not dissapointed, it was one of the best museums I've visited so far and I enjoyed every second :)
Noelle is an international treasure 🥰
I live in the Netherlands. Glad you liked Amsterdam 🙂 I also really love Van Gogh, super awesome paintings.
I could recommend some Dutch books, if you want
Love these types of videos, I could only imagine being in Amsterdam!
In my old job, I used to deal with American Book Center all the time, and I can't believe it never occurred to me to look the place up.
I will be flying to Amsterdam in a few days and The American Book Center is also on my list to check out. As well as Waterstones :D Starry Night is my favourite piece of art! Love it.
THE GOLDFINCHHH I just keep thinking about the goldfinch 😭😭😭
This is such a great, fun video, thank you for sharing. Now I want to go to Amsterdam 😄
This was so fun, hope you will be able to travel and visit more bookstores in other countries in the future!
Loved it but in the beginning of the vlog when you talked about Starry Night I thought well it's in NY kkkk so so cool, great vlog!
Ahhh I wish I knew you were going to Ams because I really recommend Used English Books, it's surreal. An old Amsterdam house with books floor to ceiling for like 3 floors.
Oh I was in Amsterdam a couple of weeks ago as well - such a beautiful city and I loooved the book stores! :)
Btw in which hotel were you? Ours was suuuper small ^^"
Love how enthusiastic you are in this video!
I was just in Amsterdam! I went to the American book store! Love the stairs and levels :)
I wanted to go to the same museum when I was there a few summers ago, but it was so booked up I couldn’t get in. Anyway, so happy you were able to see it! Thanks for this wonderful video! Anything you make is like crack to me 😂
Love the post cards. Wows that is an awesome trip
i love this video so much!!! i have always wanted to go to amsterdam, and i've now bumped it up on my list of priorities!
Hi Noelle, could you please share the Hotel and restaurant's names ? Thank you 🙏🏻 Hope that someday you can come to Lisbon, Portugal and I can show you the beautiful Quinta da Regaleira in Sintra. You'll love it, for sure 😄
I've lurked through your videos for about two years now. I think I should introduce myself and let you know I live vicariously through you. I loved this video and your Paris video. I'm sorry I can't help with an idea for you to tape but I enjoy all your videos. You could tell us more about your degree and your college studies. I know I'd love to hear your deep thoughts on Middle March.
Thank you for always being the best part of my day Noelle!😌
One of my friends studies in Amsterdam and this video just makes me wanna visit her so baaaad 😩😩😩
"I was filming on these things called cameras" had me rolling😂🤣.
Buzzin' to see this video pop up! Hello from Scotland Noelle!! 🏴
I love Van Gogh so much! 💙🥺
starry night is in the MoMA in New York!
Omg when I went to Amsterdam like three years ago I got a windmill too, very cute
I would like to see more videos on your takes on book trobes and things you don't like about booktube
love your videos noelle!
Hey Noelle if you ever get back to the Netherlands you should go to Maastricht. There is a bookshop in a church. It is the largest one in the netherlands. It is named de dominicanen.
You will enjoy the books and also the coffee you can drink over there
Are you planning to visit new york to see the starry night painting?
So nice to see you in our country!! ☺️
My mother was an artist and one of to oils she had to do in art school in Chicago don't know the school. I think it was a Catholic women's college was your fav Van Gogh it was a prominent part of my growing up.
Best birthday surprise!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Happy birthday!!
Thank you!!!💕
hey, absolutly no hate, just wanted to let you know that waterstones isn't the european version of barnes and nobles because we don't all speak english, we have our own "bookstores channels" depending on the language of our country
got it!! my mistake, thanks for clarifying this for me!
i have a framed sunflowers magnet too ayyy :)
Omg dutchie hereee ✌🏻
Loved this 😍😍❤️
