This is hilarious! I live in the house behind you on the kade. You could have popped over for a cuppa. This typical Amsterdam. The weather's away this wet this time of year and we only bike it! Only way to travel 😂😂
And the Dutch cyclist gives way to nobody, regardless of the situation 😮😅 I'm a wheelchair user and one time in Amsterdam the pavement was blocked by building materials and I had to go partly onto the cycle path for a moment to navigate safely around, did it make any difference? Did it heckers like, I was shouted at by a random cyclist, even though they could see the whole situation.
You are the epitome of a Good Sport. Camping indoors is as unappealing to me as all of Las Vegas, Dubai and any indoor claustrophobic hotel room....I want indoor/outdoor access....lots of glass windows and doors visible to nature or wildlife. I loathe anything glitzy faux gold, cute, cluttery or fal de ralish....lol....for that I can stay home....But I love watching all your videos....my favorites the treehouse, beach cottage, the safari place....These Amsterdam places were another side of hell/ Dubai and Vegas the other side....LOL
Hi Tim, the mysterious orange thing in the kitchen is a paraffin oil burner. You put the oil in the bottom. The three things is where the three wicks are (ajustable with the round things). They are quite old fashioned. You put a pot on it and used to simmer (slow cook) stew or beef. Anything really. My mum has several which she still uses 😅 Yes, i'm Dutch 😂
Hi Tim, we live in Amsterdam, just 2 streets from the bridge house you stayed in. We pass this place almost every day and we know it is a ‘hotel room’ now. But we never stayed in it so we are very happy with your video which gave us the opportunity to look inside. This part of Amsterdam has been build around 1925 and the interior of the bridge house is still authentic. Like the sink f.e. Where the orange stool is standing now, used to be the location for a coal stove. Greetings from Amsterdam, Ronald & Astrid
I think most of the people in Amsterdam know these are used as hotel rooms now, it was pretty well covered in the news and papers when the houses were turned into hotel rooms.
From the Burj, to a jumbo jet, to a crane, to the Wynn and now - to a camper - TIM - where have you been all of our lives?! Your videos are just amazing!!!!! Thanks for so many smiles!
My favorite videos of yours are the ones when you go to these interesting, different kinds of hotels. It’s very cool of you to show us these places. Thank you.
Total nightmare worse than the haunted hotel or the magic hotel.... all I would avoid, along with anything in Vegas, Dubai.... add to the list Denmark.
I loved the first one - looked very cute. The second one , with the caravans is a great idea but having the toilets so far away (it’s like finding the loos in a Wetherspoons!) would put me off!
@@WalkWithMeTim You truly are British! Stiff upper lip....that place was hideous like most of these hotels....but you are the the best. Greetings to your beautiful wife (who reminds me of Sophia Loren and your beautiful son Casper) you are all delightful.
I quite like the idea of the outside inn. I often travel solo but don't like sharing rooms with others in hostels and often find private hotel rooms to be quite expensive. It seems like a perfect middle ground for someone like me. Also fully understand the awkwardness of running to a bathroom in a shared space. Last time I stayed in a hostel I was wandering to the bathroom in my pyjamas at 2am and ended up in a conversation with a person wearing a suit 😂
I loved the bridge keeper houses. Really cute. Every thing you needed. Camper is "ify". Don't like getting dressed to use the bathroom. All in all it looks like a fun experience and it was definitely different. Safe travels home.
This is certainly a very cozy one! Every single time I watch your videos, I think, "This one is the best!" You just keep outdoing yourself. Thank you for the amazing, enjoyable videos!
The item at 5:25 is called a Petroleumstel. A tyipicla Dutch stove. Works by burning kerosene stove and is ideally suited for simmering stew meat and stewed fruits.
@@stevemurrell6167It's in the name, petroleum is kerosine, it's what this appliance was made for. Kerosine is actually pretty clean when it burns, it releases a lot less smoke than diesel/petrol. My in laws still use a petroleum burner to heat their greenhouse, it's better for the plants than diesel. -Idk about paraffin though, I've always heard it's bad for my asthma to burn paraffin candles, as they do produce smoke and leave residue on furniture.- So I looked it up, and paraffin is the same as kerosene! It's not to be confused with paraffin wax, which I did. The candle stuff is different. So you're right, you put paraffin in it! Or kerosene or petroleum. It's all the same stuff with a different name! 🤯
I absolutely LOVE the bridge tender rooms!!! I am going to try and stay in one for a week! The outside/inn didn’t do much for me but was interesting to see.
I'm a solo traveler and I'd love to sleep in either of those places! Thanks for showing them off, Tim! Oh, and never, ever stop letting us know how many people can fit in the shower - it's one of my favorite bits! Cheers from the USA
First hotel room was so cool, I would possibly stay there myself. The second, while a really interesting concept, it's a bit off the beaten path and fewer conveniences but still very cool.
As always, your fun and interesting Walk with Me adventures remain fantastic and super interesting! These, and the prior Crane Hotel suite, were a strange collection of what Amsterdam has to offer, but honestly Tim, I think if Marie & I ever visit Amsterdam, we’ll be staying in a more traditional hotel:) Stay, you & family, Very Well!! Bill
My parents caravan that had a double drop down bed that looked like a wardrobe when it was closed and I had the kitchen table that converted into a bed that had a curtain you could draw around for a little privacy.
@nickyphoenix2470 Yes, there were two double beds, 1 in the kitchen, 1 in the living room, and the 2 settees at the caravan front turned into a bed, sheets and blankets were underneath the settees in box frames, they used to have earwigs on them so I never slept lol
Nice spots! Both seemed very unique. Feel like a lot of warehouse type areas could set up indoor camping. IMO much less scary than the crane. That one still gives me the creeps!
Best travel channel. Concise content, with focus on the accommodation experience, you make it easy for anyone to decide if they could stay there or not. Keep up the good work. Definitely quirky stays for the lone traveller or with a group but each person having their own space because I cannot imagine sharing that space with anyone else. A rowdy party in that camping area would lead to total and absolute chaos, I would stay away unless I was with a large party that booked it all up.

Fab video as usual. I love the caravans and beach huts , they really made me smile. The rain on the roof took me right back to being a little girl. I still love the sound now … reminds me of happy care free times

I rented one of these bridge hotels for a week a couple of years ago. Very cool and unique. But it wasn't just loud; the whole house shook every time a bus or lorry drove by (mine was right next to a major bus stop). This and the compromised layout make it a bad choice for a week-long holiday, but a night or two would be perfect.
Hi Tim. Love those 2. I always wondered what it would be like sleeping in go outdoors shop. That must be what it's like. The river little hotel. Its now on my bucket list just because its super cool.

That was fun, I liked both of them, but I wouldn`t like to have to go out to the bathroom; so between the two I prefer the bridge keepers house. Really unique places (although I shouldn`t be surprised; it seems to be your speciality lol). I did love the sound of the rain on the roof at the Outside Inn though, that would definitely put me to sleep! Great vlog as usual.
Very charming places. The caravan site seemed so whimsical, when you said "You might ask yourself where do you wash up or shower or get a drink" and then made your way to the fridge, part of me wondered if the shower was inside it.
The prices on both of those places were very reasonable for the experience. Would definitely consider both for the next time I'm in Amsterdam. Nice finds Tim !
Wow that's fascinating! The bridge keeper's house looks so cute and they thought of everything! I suppose these things are no longer in use because the bridges are automated now? Not so keen on the indoor trailer park but it's a good idea for people who like that sort of thing.
Loved the outside Inn Hotel but they didn't have one like ours. But the curtains were familiar.. those beach huts looked like old butlins chalets but quirky. I like it. Thanks Tim ❤
Two very unique and different places, both at a reasonable cost. For me, the canal, as I would enjoy watching the varied shipping along the canal. The caravan brings back many memories of when I was a child. Very basic, but it did not seem like it at the time. I see that the BT Tower in London has been sold and is to become a hotel. One to try out in the future perhaps? (Well done on the sponsorship, thoroughly deserving.)
Lovely video Tim. Not gonna lie, the black and white tiled sink brought tears to my eyes. It gave me memories of my grandparents house in Rotterdam Holland as they had exactly the same in their kitchen. Thanks Tim 😀
I love these two quirky types of accommodation, Tim! You have an amazing knack of finding really cool places. Amsterdam looks like a great city too. Keep up the spectacular work, I always look forward to your new videos!

Both so quirky, loved the caravan one that’s so cool! Never seen anything like that! You going to the toilet at 3 am 😂 I think most of us would have made that mistake thinking no one would be there 😂😂 another fantastic video Tim! Thanks for sharing x
Enjoyed that Tim thank you. Would love to visit those caravans. I remember caravanning in my grandparents caravan in the 70s. But they had a nice big modern one that easily housed a family. Eight berth, 2 bedrooms (no bathroom back them, used site facilities lol), gas lighting, battery operated portable black and white TV. Many happy memories. I could stay in one of those little ones too lol.
New to your channel from Canada. Have been binge watching for a few weeks. Loving everything but my favorite are the hotel reviews. These 2 quirky stays were fun.
I loved both of these! Though, the bridge house was my favorite. I’d love to sit and just watch outside…. When you felt the bridge move, it made me smile. I’m in California, USA. We have a lot of earthquakes. And when ever the ground shakes, for what ever reason, we try to guess what the Earthquake Richter Scale would rate it…. My FIRST thought when you mentioned the shaking bridge, was I wonder where that would rate. I love seeing the world with you!
Loved the vintage campers and prints. Wished that place had fake flowers and vines and more plants. The hotel on the water seemed kinda tacky and busy/loud.
You and you’re videos are ace. So eclectic and different. That first place was so cool and unique. I’d definitely stay there. Keep up the good work. 🙏❤️.x
The thing on your kitchen , the orange one , is a little vey old fashioned oven, a petrol stove. My grandma had one, you can heat boerenkool on it, or rode kool with appeltjes or spruitjes. Have fun 😄
Love the canal house room. Always wondered what was in them... We lived south of Amsterdam - the local cafe stored their loo paper and stuff in the canal bridge house.
Very interesting video. Especially those bridge keepers' buildings look like something I'd love to check out next time I'm in the Netherlands, thanks for finding those and making a vid on one!
It's Madness-our house in the middle of the street! Unique, kind of fishbowl. Caravan hotel is even more unique! I would love to stay at the fake indoor campsite! The exterior of the camper you chose looks like the first one owned by my late grandparents.
That little vintage caravan village looked lovely. Not a place for a lone parent and child though. I would stay there myself. So may check it out for the price of the beach huts. Thankyou for showing this Tim, and everything that you do
Loved this video, it is fascinating to see the labour of love put into these unique places. Would be awesome if you could include if a hotel has any access issues like the outside inn had as it isn't often obvious. Things like steps instead of ramps, disabled toilets if they have them etc. There are so few wheelchair or mobility aid focused travel content in the UK especially.
Download Opera for free 👉opr.as/Opera-browser-walkwithmetim
There's a saying " less is more ", which fits that caravan

I loved both of these! Though, the bridge house was my favorite. I’d love to sit and just watch outside…. When you felt the bridge move, it made me smile. I’m in California, USA. We have a lot of earthquakes. And when ever the ground shakes, for what ever reason, we try to guess what the Earthquake Richter Scale would rate it…. My FIRST thought when you mentioned the shaking bridge, was I wonder where that would rate. I love seeing the world with you!
Just found your channel a week ago and am addicted to it. Am from the U.S.A. , Texas, but was born abroad in the UK from American parents😊
Hey Tim they remind me of tiny homes great thank you for sharing ❤
Loved the vintage campers and prints. Wished that place had fake flowers and vines and more plants. The hotel on the water seemed kinda tacky and busy/loud.
You and you’re videos are ace. So eclectic and different.
That first place was so cool and unique. I’d definitely stay there.
Keep up the good work.
🙏❤️.x
Wow, thank you!
The thing on your kitchen , the orange one , is a little vey old fashioned oven, a petrol stove. My grandma had one, you can heat boerenkool on it, or rode kool with appeltjes or spruitjes. Have fun 😄
It would be fun to have a few friends rent the trailers or a mini reunion for a few days.
Good idea but only if surrounded by friends/family. 🇨🇦
Outside Inn is too weird. No one else was staying there? Spooky. And imagine going on holiday to be told not to talk after 11. 😮😅
You've done it AGAIN! Amazing! Thank you, Tim.
Glad you enjoyed it!
It's Madness-our house in the middle of the street! Unique, kind of fishbowl. Caravan hotel is even more unique! I would love to stay at the fake indoor campsite! The exterior of the camper you chose looks like the first one owned by my late grandparents.
I am just starting to watch. Two minutes into the video. I love the first place. I thonk I would enjoy staying there. Lovely view over the canal.
What clever places there are to stay and that's thinking outside the box..😂 I'd certainly stay in both places.
This might be my favorite video yet! I hope one day I get healthy and can visit strange hotels! Looks amazing fun!
Love this! Very entertaining and informative for a person with a person with absolutely no (0) experience!🙃 Thank you, Tim
Hi Tim this looks great hope all the family are well love you all ❤️👍🌹
My Wife and I just spent 5 hours getting lost in Amsterdam hahaha but we had a great time today and can’t wait to go back
This was a Weird Hotel you stayed in but very interesting & unique too , great review as always Tim 👍
