Hi everyone, Welcome to our new channel! Thank you for your support, likes, subscriptions and comments - this is just the beginning of our exciting RUclips journey!
Feel free to express your opinions and share your experiences, but please do so with respect (to us and to other commenters). Let's create a community free of hate and filled with motivation, art and positive ideas!
This is one of the first videos on our channel that we recorded together (it's also the first experience of a speaking video for André and the first experience of speaking in English for Julia) - so it is not easy for us, but we're glad we did it and hope you find the video useful!
P.s. there are subtitles in this video, which you can translate into your native language in the settings. Enjoy watching!

Love these videos because it shows me my Dutch life from a different perspective. Please keep them coming!
Poverty is horrid anywhere and should be stamped out everywhere. 'Poor' however is a subjective term, especially in a rich country, provided the basic needs are met. Which is increasingly difficult for many in the Netherlands
Beyond the basics I think everything should be considered a luxury; nice to indulge in from time to time to make some happy memories, but not vital to life a worthwhile life. Travel light and you will go far.
You will find that many Dutch 'poor' are not only those who are short of resources, but also those who are relegated to to fringes of society - Which is an entirely different problem.

Hi! Julia here! I'm glad you find the videos interesting and we'll definitely continue! I agree that "poverty" or "wealth" is relative and often has little to do with the amount of money in the account but with the attitude and mentality of a particular person. There's a great book "Rich Dad Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki. I can recommend it to many of the commentators from the previous video or those who think that the Netherlands is an expensive country and people here have no money and constantly suffer.
