I found a Griffons 3 days ago with pretty good rolls from a random mob around Lord De Seis in chaos. I immediately respeced my blizz sorc into lightning just the cause of it, even if I miss infinity 😂
I am not 100% sure, but I would assume that the reduction in resistance break (20% past 100) only applies above 99% resist. So in the math you showed, you would have need 11 points of break (-55 rez), to reduce a base 110% to 99% (broken immunity) then after the standard rate would apply, further dropping by the remaining -30% of un-reduced reduction (to 69%). the 25% reduction from Grifs would then apply to reduce the monster to 44% rez which would be applied to the calculation. additionally, if you were equipping any "+__ to all skills" on your merc I believe they apply to the conviction aura, granting further break potential. its somewhat hard to test in-game, but you could equip a merc with a +2 helm (Andy's/shako/doom etc) and a +2 armor (AV, COH, Enigma), total +4, granting a conviction of lvl 16, or -105% reduction (21% break). this would enable the breaking of a 120% base rez monster vs the limit of a 115% with base lvl 12 conviction Infinity. Also, in your video you mention it, but I feel that one of the most important stats behind the power of this item is the FCR. As its 25%, it pairs well with our only real FCR shield (spirit at 35%) option to give 60% FCR. on a sorc this allows you to reach the 200% FCR breakpoint while equipping a HOTO/Escutas (40%) with either a 10FCR ammy and 2 10FCR rings, or a 20FCR ammy and 1 10 FCR ring. any other helm is limited to 20FCR meaning it would require either equipping a wizardspike/Suicide branch (50% FCR) at a big loss in damage or the Hoto/Escutas only after getting a 15% FCR (or better) ammy and 2 10FCR rings. That extra 5% FCR builds a surprising amount of flexibility into a 200 FCR build and shouldn't be underestimated imo.

For the last two weeks, I've been doing Pindle / Threshsocket runs for a Griffon's Eye. A couple of days in, I found an Ohm, and then a week later, a Cham. And a few days ago? Andariel's Visage... ethereal!
@@GGMentor Thanks! I socketed it with a rare jewel (+20 fire resist with 20 or so enhanced damage and +5 to defense). I used it for a few days on my merc. but I switched back to a G-face with Topaz because I'm just doing Pindleruns. With the Ohm, I cubed it up to a Lo so that I could make my first ethereal Fortitude. Trech is great, but with Fort, my Merc. is a killing machine.
Over the course of around two months, I've found 2 Mav's Diadems. Made 5-10 combined runs of Countess/pits/AT/Meph/Pindle yesterday. So, in run 3 or 4 I think, a mob in Ancient Tunnels dropped Griffons (18/12/112). My jaw hit the floor, for a good long while.

I remember just farming TZ's and this dropped off the Snakey Boi's in one of the Kurast Causeway temples. Super unexpected, but a nice surprise nonetheless!
Found me a 20/14 Griffons which pretty much paid for all the gear I still needed on my War Cry Barbarian (Ladder Season 3), instantly gearing him to his maximum potential :P Found it from in The Pits.

I have a 15/17 socketed with a 5/5 light facet. All together that’s positive skill damage +20 % and negative 22 on the enemy resistance.. I probably should have put it in my 13/ 18 but twenty positive light skill damage looks so great!
As a Javazon when you do over 4k physical (not counting the 7k light damage) light immunes don't matter none of what's in this video matters she just slays everything quickly, This is a great informational video tho to know of the resistances and how they work. Thanks 👍
Single target physical damage doesn't help much vs packs of lightning immunes lol. Slows you way down or stops you completely depending on the pack, or area composition. Though fend is looking pretty sweet now for multi target physical.

@@TheMrRee100 hate using dracs on my javazon I lose out on the plus to skills and the 20% ias. But I can see the benefits. I am actually really excited about my spearzon with 2.4 coming. Probably gonna rock fend/charged strike/lightning strike. Overall with my testing the fend Amazon is a beast now. They also reduced synergy costs for the lightning melee skills which makes it easier to build melee in general. Should have 20 more skill points to utilize elsewhere

Sunder Charm only breaks immunities, if you are not going up against a monster that is "Immune" than it does nothing. If the monster is "Immune" it set's their resistance to 95% before other modifiers. Negative Resistance doesn't work at all VS immune monsters so the Sunder charm is imperative to allow it to work. However VS non immune monsters it's useless.

Just had one drop from pindle. So hyped. Players 8, 200 mf, lvl 91 javazon. Like 1 in 28000. If you go javazon, try spawning level 20 plus valkyrie as you pass the entrance, she will slow them down, I would never do it without her as that boss pack would rush me in 2 seconds and they hit hard players 8. Lol it's long and terrible war you are starting. As the majority of my entire vocabulary comes from reading. And unfortunately explaining how something sounds by writing is rarely effective. To really understand how a word is pronounced you have hear it.
Anywhere that is TC87+ The item won't fall in lesser zones. Primarily Terror Zones in Hell. There is also some kind of odd bug that hasn't been explained where TZ Andariel has been dropping 2 or three of them on occasion but only for P1

I think the +skill damage is already calculated in the shown lightning damage. I was watching one damage before i added a facet, and then it added some after i added the facet.
What's also already taken into account is your lightning mastery bonus, which if I'm not wrong, it merely adds up to bonuses from equipment instead of multiplying them. So your 10k is already multiplied by let's say 20 hard points + 5 to skills = 338%. Your 20% bonus ramps that up to 358%, which is a raw increase in your damage of an effective 4.56% which is insignificant. The more you have in lightning mastery, the less that bonus counts.
@@mrkiky yes lightning skill damage basically counts as lightning mastery. It even calls it that in hero editor. But both of you guys are taking everything way to literally. I was using a theoretical number the fact that it lined up with the damage on my character panel was a coincidence. Sorceresses can have upwards of like 70k damage with lightning. I was just trying to give an example.

It's more significant for a javazon who has no lightning mastery. Or if it's cold skill, since cold mastery actually reduces resists rather than boosting damage. In case of cold, the resist reduction on items becomes insignificant instead, and damage boost becomes useful.

I thought griffins only dropped off nilathak Pindle and Baal? I had no idea you could get griffons in chaos.
I swear most of my uniques weren't dropped from bosses, rares or elites but random mobs, not sure why blizz does what they do.

I found this for the first time a week ago from Baal with only 170 mf. Was just trying out some new gear. Only has 15/12 but it still kicks ass.

You also forgot to mention that Lightning Mastery stacks with the + lightning damage from griff, so griff’s 20% is a drop in the bucket to LM’s 400+%
Well it ends up being far less effective on sorc than on say lightning zon
