Have you considered getting the dbx Drive Rack 260 Speaker management system? It has the built in Subharmonic Synthesizer to generate 24-35hz low and add them in real time into your system. Im sure it would sound very nice on your system since your system can dig low, and the built in feedback destroyer in the dbx dr260 can be useful during ur gigs. Happy to see people are using PA systems at home. I am also a Professional Audio system user, and was I inspired by a RUclips user MrZivkoF 7 years ago. I have moved on from audiophile to car audio to PAs
Impressive looking system. My experience with professional low frequency speakers is that, the bigger the box, the lower the F3. Your bass cabinets don't look very big compared to the drivers so I assume a higher F3, maybe 40-50Hz. So frequencies over 50Hz would be much louder than what you're trying to reproduce. Having 4 bass drivers, you could set your crossover really low to cut off frequencies above say 40Hz and still be audible enough.
Sounds tremendously distorted. I hope this is about the recording and not the actual sound coming out from the speakers. Have you done some actual frequency response and THD measurements below 100Hz to see how clean the bass is? It's easy to make a lot of "rumble bass" but harder to make the distortion really low and the impulse response firm and nice.
PA subs aren't made to play Home cinema level low ,they play from 30hz-35hz and up because they want to play loud and people want to feel that bass rumble at festivals in the chest :) what subs are these by the way i can't find them online even no pictures of them ;P
for comparison a Sundown X-18 sub has a sensitivity of like 89dB/1watt these do have a sensitivity of 98dB/1watt and for each 3db you need double the power, so guess what would go louder and eat less power these subs obviously, and PA subs in a decent box do infact go low, even my cheap 12 inch Fane Sovereign 12-500LF plays down to 28Hz in a shitty prefab box which was made for car subs (and definitely too small for that woofer) so if a PA 12 can do that in a bad box, an 18 surely can in a custom box. even crazier is, if the box has the same gain for a sundown X-18 as for the fs audio one, the fs audio one would go a whole 5 dBs louder if the FS audio one is powered on 600w while the x-18 is on 1500w
Always wondered though... why is the excursion of these drivers so small? Feels like you could move the same air with 1 18" driver moving twice as far. Surely you could achieve the same with 2 subs?
The other reason is they are tuned to 38 Hz. Mine are tuned about the same and have a strict 33 hz high pass at 24 dB/octave to stop the coils hitting the back plate. I could probably get them to go lower by blocking a port or two. They wouldn't go as loud but my landlord is asking me to keep it quieter (my property is detached but bass can still travel) now everyone is on lockdown. I've never got amps hot enough to noticeably heat the room to sweating point though that's crazy. If I run the subs hard they blow a bit of warm air like a projector. But like I said lockdown. Class D Peavey ipr1600 are quite efficient. If I had 12 of my subs and ran 35 Hz sine wave with 3 in parallel reach channel it might be the works loudest space heater. I think of I had 4 18s I'd be using even less power though true to increase efficiency. My 12s are already at 96 dB 1w 1m each though. You can hear roughly how loud they get on my channel as my mic does not clip or compress, though you don't know exactly how loud I can yell for reference. I did not boost the bass post production. Based on cone area you could probably beat me by almost 10dB with equal positioning.
Its all about the tuning. Of course your subs will get low. But Low and loud depends. I like your setup regardless and i bet it pounds with some industrial beats. Well, I watched a few more of your video's. Thanks for sharing, I like what you got going on. I may be wrong and correct me if i am but those 18's are not sub woofers. They are just woofers. I am not there and cant hear them well over youtube although i am listening through a good setup myself. If i had to bet i would say just one quality 18" car audio subwoofer would slay those four when dropping below 50hrz. Specially with the power you have. Once again i bet it sounds great and if you like it that's all that matters.
I want to know your honest thought on a pair of Samson Resound RS12HD, they are 12 inch pa speakers my dad had bought some and then 1 year later he got some high end home speakers and sold those Samson to me they are rated for 250 RMS @ 8 ohms I thought about using them outside for a party of 100-130 people in a month should i use these or buy some better ones I can afford $1000 new pa speakers I already have crown amps.
well now we know can you tell me if the 18' are seperated in the box? i have made hundreds of boxes for subs and whej they share the air space the low fq gets distorted
They look like they are doing the job. The thing that bites helmet is that you can't record Bass that low without getting distortion. The only way somebody can actually hear that your speakers are hitting low is to listen to them in person. I have recorded a couple videos of my Cerwin Vegas hitting low Bass, but of course the recording was distorted. Unless you have a very good sound recording set up like pro microphones hooked up to a sound board, etc. to record like a concert is done you will not get the sound that you want on video. There are really good cameras that can record concerts, but you will pay an arm, two legs, and maybe a kidney for it.
also dude, no matter what mic you use you will never be able to reproduce the sub frequencies properly. it will always clip the mic, actually my best experience recording subs going ham was with my galaxy s4, video was shit but audio wasn't bad. (it was mostly ignoring bass and not clipping until i got up to the subs of course.) All the people who have good bass audio playing in their videos usually overlayed the music they were playing in sync with what the video shows. Thats a lot of work and totally not needed and will get the video content ID'd so theres really no point. Keep making these vids since i cant bass out with my own system for a few months. Need something to tie me over. lol Also the framerate of the camera matters to what we actually see, some frequencies like 25 and 50 are better for seeing sine wave movement, but worse in other areas. Just play around with it if you feel like it. It's quite fascinating to me.
Master Basser For real the galaxy s4 records bass down to 25-26 hz cleanly if you're not in front of the sub and you are not distorting the audio. I have a video in my channel and with earphones it sounds like in real life.
i got a 12" kicker car sub for high wattage and im running it of a computer sub running at 120 watt normal house wattage do you think if i had a nice house amp like 600 watt output do you think my kicker sub would beat pretty hard
pro audio speakers are generally more efficent and more durable than car speakers. pro audio is designed for a large audience, car subs meant to be inside a small area with maybe five people. do it car audio "the right way" in your home would be to use pro audio anps anyways. pro audio is meant to be moved around alot so its somewhat portable so you can have kick ass parties in your back yard. car sub audio uses near field drivers not meant for large gatherings and since subs are less efficient you'll need a lot more power to get them as loud as an actual good pro audio set up, no Pyle. car audio tends to be cheaper so i guess thats a plus right?
if i could get my yamahas identified, and find a bit of info on them, i may try to do a setup like this. only problem is, i cant find records of them anywhere
hello is a Dominican boy living in Italy, I am a fan of hi-fi, I would create a test rac to design speakers and crossover, would you recommend me something to begin
The way the woofers look like on the subs probably some duel 18 JBL cabs. And for anyone that thinks that Professional Audio cannot hit below 30hz is completely wrong. Also those who think car audio is louder is also completely wrong. Given the situation and the enclosure a line array subwoofer or what he has wins over most car audio.
Yo I have the same pro audio subs and I have the same 2 cewin vega cv 2800 and the same cewin Vega cv 900 and the pro audio subs almost blowed up and my room heats up in 10 minutes
Hi doublsmm you must know there are people out there trying to look like they had clue about audio and dont have. So they say your system suck and doesnt get low. Not everyone has clue about that, probably 80% of all your viewers dont have, would not wonder me. But often they try to. Such people are called trolls :D But honestly. Car Subs are never a good choice for a room. No matter if its cheapo raveland crap or better ones like hifonics. Home Subs are built for High fidelity and room acoustics while car subs are built for high decibel and a small room. So the Subs you have chosen were the better choise as you said.
But its verry distorted. Try a lower volume and if possible a microphone with a bigger diaphrame. In this video you gave too much volume. Less would be enough. you would hear the bass much better and still hear the lowest notes, which was the purpose of this vid.
Well that is where your very very very wrong some of the best audiophile speakers ever made have had paper in them. But they use more than just paper it is not like the paper you write on very strong like a composite. There are speakers from the 60's that are made with paper that are still around and in use so think on.
For sure they use paper cones dipped in epoxy ect to make them hard and tough. My Speakers are exactly those. Pressed paper cones dipped in epoxy. Some of the best solutions since the 80`s
Man I wish to buy 2 15s and 2 12s for my room ;-; I only got $147 and going to save up to 1,000 or so to buy a big stereo system and I just bought a $29.99 8 inch 1,000 Watt BOSS AUDIO SYSTEMS subwoofer and right now I got it in my 60 watt amp + Box. Soon going for a bigger amp that outputs 1,000 (and not go over 1,000 to not blow it)
a good car audio 18s would outperform pro subs like yours with an spl in mind. i will be building a tline for car audio 12inch for indoor use. tuned to ridiculous low frequency probably 10-15hz we will see if a speaker with 37ish hz rezonant frequency car audio sub will play this low. i dont see why it wouldnt. but the issue here is peaks. my 90l bass reflex box tuned to 24hz is playing dam well but higher notes above 60hz doesnt have that umph. will see if a tline will solve it. although manufacurer indicates that my 12inch sub is much better for 20-50hz than 50-80hz. and i will be checking the box performance in balcony but i dont expect much because its way too high. and i have no way of bringing it down. later i will be buying an 18inch car audio spl sub will see how that puppy performs
Those aren't real lows bro! You're just forcing midbass drivers for lows which they're struggling to provide! Your midbass is twice as loud as that of real lows! Anyways everyone has different taste. I love brutal lows that's why I got DD 3515 car audio sub in home audio which goes down around 17hz clean! Lows are premium!
Let me clear this: an 18" midbass speaker?! Just because they have a small surround... It is a common misconception, that PA subwoofers don't play low. They are meant for music usage, not home theatre. For this purpose 30 Hertz is more than enough. You also forgot the fact that Pro audio subs a way more musical and precise than goofy car audio subs with exaggerated surrounds. Not to mention the Efficiency...
You think car audio subs which are built primarily for power output and excursion can beat proper drivers that have low distortion? Sure they have less Xmax and possibly higher Fs but they are by no means midbass.
All that equipment and it probably doesn't play over 130db... Also your tiny little room doesn't have enough volume to make those woofers/boxes work effectively
Nelson Segers yes let's just pretend that room gain doesn't exist. I don't know anything about those drivers, but they look like they belong in big ass boxes outside, not in some idiots home theater room. I've seen some shitty subwoofer drivers, and those are by far the worst.
ThePCRetard He did say his boxes don't have enough air space for the subs, but the size of the room doesn't matter, but the smaller the room, the louder it seems. Regarding to playing over 130db, 130db is stupid loud anyway. That's at the point where you start to feel pain for most people. It's not about the volume anyway, he's showing his subs playing low bass, not how loud they go.
there's no room for excursion whatsoever. the only advantage you have with those is power handling. you can move more air with a much smaller woofer with a big rubber surround
Jacob He shows his face in the video about buying his first car. I don't think he's trying to hide his face, just there isn't much reason to showing it in his normal videos.
my dual 12" subs go down to 12hz I can see the ceiling visibly vibrating at 12hz and thats not even at more than like 50-100 watts! and they are capable of over 1000 watts
I really Miss ur old set up •~•
The Fun fact is you don't know how strong amps you need to make those woofers move like that, this setup is really insane!!
I would really like to hear how they sound in real life!
No woofers are louder than 999999999999999999999999db
radz mcget That level of db Is higher than a nagasaki bombing right next to your ear
radz mcget #everybodydead!
You could have if he knew how to properly gain a microphone.
No, it's at most 100ish db.
Damn your neighbors must really love you😂😂 killer bro my DJ friend had those subs and for the age they are incredible😆💪😎🙌

SuperRJ2012 Thank you so much! I love the drop with the bass it just sounds so good!
Thank you

Unexpected Sensation you are correct!

Was those 4 subs on the floor in custom built box? I'm working on 2x 18" subwoofer tv cabinet and searching some good boxes for it. :)
Looks fucking dope with them all moving in unison
Have you ever tried white katana on car speakers? Not a good idea
well now we know
can you tell me if the 18' are seperated in the box?
i have made hundreds of boxes for subs and whej they share the air space the low fq gets distorted
Daaaaaaamn I LOve Your System, For Sake of Bass I Have Them Too, But Not As Sick As You Dude, props
danm you got a sick stereo how much watts does it punch out??

why do you run bass over the fullrange speakers?
dude! what happens if you watch a action movie on that lot? could your neighbours get the "cinema" experience LOL! just kidding really nice
also dude, no matter what mic you use you will never be able to reproduce the sub frequencies properly. it will always clip the mic, actually my best experience recording subs going ham was with my galaxy s4, video was shit but audio wasn't bad. Can you buy a pro audio mic for us people?
Only joking. What is the lowest audio frequency that is audible to youon your system. Lowest mine produces is at 15Hz with two 15's.
But I think you can't get the "clean" low bass, the low bass that the 18's are playing is low bass that is created by high bass
Ryan Verwey That makes 0 sense
yes it does cause it isnt real low bass
Ryan Verwey with this much speaker area in such a small room it's most likely real bass
FyJonas Yes thats true but if the speaker isnt moving much than you get nice low bass anyway
FyJonas Sound is actually air relocation and that speaker can't relocate much cause it isn't pushing the air.
Who is the manufacturer of these speakers??
im a simple man i see subs, i click.
How low do you do you empire bagel bagel and how low or high gear and go 18 way
where do you get speakers like this
how much those subwoofers cost?
what are the songs you used?
have you tryin JBL tormento?
do you have any neigtboars (i hope i write it right im from germany)
if i could get my yamahas identified, and find a bit of info on them, i may try to do a setup like this. only problem is, i cant find records of them anywhere
How much watts is this?
how many watts are the subs?
What are the woofer in those box ??

ThePCRetard He did say his boxes don't have enough air space for the subs, but the size of the room doesn't matter, but the smaller the room, the louder it seems. Regarding to playing over 130db, 130db is stupid loud anyway. That's at the point where you start to feel pain for most people. It's not about the volume anyway, he's showing his subs playing low bass, not how loud they go.
ThePCRetard my dual 10” subwoofers can play at 130 dB so I’m pretty 4 18” subs can play at 130 dB
Christopher Boris yeah exactly 😂😂 idiot knows nothing about PA subs. These are actually decent subs 🤦♂️
there's no room for excursion whatsoever. the only advantage you have with those is power handling. you can move more air with a much smaller woofer with a big rubber surround
yeah, excursion can make up for diameter
excursion = distortion
Excursion is NOT distortion
high excursion = distortion
car audio is high excursion
We got to see a little of your face. Do you hide it intentionally or is it just something you never thought of?
Jacob He shows his face in the video about buying his first car. I don't think he's trying to hide his face, just there isn't much reason to showing it in his normal videos.
Yeah I just saw the video. I posted this before I watched it.
my dual 12" subs go down to 12hz I can see the ceiling visibly vibrating at 12hz and thats not even at more than like 50-100 watts! and they are capable of over 1000 watts
these subs are car audio subs right?
