I’m confused. Could you explain which side exactly was tight on the baby?

There is typically tightness/restriction on the non-hitched side. But sometimes there can be varying degrees tightness through the whole body.

My baby’s right leg is hitched. So I would stretch to the left or right?

Why do you stretch to the side that is easier? Could you explain the reasoning behind this?

If they are only doing the hitched leg on one side, which side is typically tighter that we should work on? The side with the hitched leg, or the other one?

In a 3 point crawl, the leg that is up (foot on the ground or hitched) would be the tight side. The tightness is likely coming from either the hip or trunk. For the trunk rotation stretch, you always go towards the easier side. You will test both sides first and then go the easier way for that stretch!

Hello, this has been a very informative. I have a question. My LO was crawling on all fours, then had a fall off of the bed and landed on the top of her head. She has been normal with the exception that she has reverted to a three point crawl. All of her other movements are the same, she is still able to pass things from hand to hand, and is otherwise coordinated in her movements. Is this cause for concern? Should I be worried? LO is 8 months and has been crawling since 6 months.

The change may or may not be related to the fall, as the three-point crawl has more to do with asymmetry in the body muscles, rather than the head. But we always recommend checking with your pediatrician if you're worried!

I know this is for infants but does this also apply to toddlers (15 month old)

I'd like to know too. My baby crawls on the bed perfectly. Faster and faster on 4s, but only on the bed. When he's on the floor, he does this. He stands up fine. He has his 15 month appt next month but this is fairly recent.

Would this be appropriate if the baby is doing what I would call a 3 point belly crawl?
