First I flew with EP1 on my 5inch quad but I was not satisfied from it's performance. I used it with T-type Omnidirectional antena set on back of the quad and every time I start rotating the quad to come back the RSSI dBm drop a lot (above -100) even below 1 km distance. I've tried everything, put the antenna ot the right back leg, switched the ep1 rx with another new ep1 but the performance was the same. Now I fly with Mateksys R24 devercity RX and put two t-type omnidirectional antennas one on the fron and one on the back and the signall is a lot better, the RSSI dBm never drop below -80 even in 5km distance. The Mateksys RX is a lot better then EP1. Until now I flew wtih Happymodel 2.4 V1.0 TX on 250mW with Moxon antenna and fan. Today I got Namimno V2 TX24 OLED that can go to 1W and I'm going to test it soon to see if it's better then the Happymodel TX.
want buy the happymodel maxon .. saw it at 5 buck.. can go to max vtx range of the baby ape in air but i failsafe before max vtx range near ground... ..; gona have to buy heliodal stuff to get more video range if i want test when failsafe the t lite with a maxon antenna at 50mw 500hz..
how to set dynamic power like this? I try setup at remote, but power not automaticly change even i flew more than 900 meters. Any settup at betaflight CLI? Thanks
Setting Tx Power with Dynamic = Dyn should do it. Arming on Aux1 to ensure it works properly is also highly recommended. Wide Switch mode should allow Uplink Power to be displayed on the OSD. See the ExpressLRS Website.
What is the orientation of your antennas? I ask, because I literally just did a "long range" test flight yesterday and my ELRS link was at 25mw the whole time all the way up to 5km out. The trick, for me at least, was to mount the RXs little T antenna vertically and then the TX antenna was also turned vertically.
I honestly don't remember. It could've been on a horizontal orientation, rear-end-mounted, TX module antenna to match. Vertical orientation will always going to be better. edit: on an earlier comment, I said it was horizontal on a rear arm, semi-vertical on the Tx.. Do note I am testing Dynamic Power behavior here (the older, RSSI dBm + LQ-based dynamic power, not the newer SNR-based when-it-can behavior)
I have the Boxer ELRS but when I set dynamic power it just stays on 25mw and doesnt go up even when the RSSI is getting worse. Do you know what triggers the increase?
Great video, just shows , especially with the new true_diversity rx's, that you don't need to set your tx power to high power! I can't get my txt power osd to work, is there a cli command I'm missing?
Nice...made me upgrade to ELRS 2.0.0 RC2 to try. Question...how'd you get the OSD to display the Tx power level? I can't get/find how to enable that in BF 4.2.9. I set OpenTx to do call outs when it changes, but sure would like to see it on the OSD too.
@@deadbyteDrones Got it thanks. I was using the latest stable BF Configurator which wasn't showing the Tx power selection in the OSD. Tried a nightly BF Config and all good now. Thank you.

I'm using betaflight 4.3.0 on this flight, and I have enabled the TX Uplink Power OSD element. I have also set my ExpressLRS switch mode to "'Wide" (expressLRS v2.0 only)
It must be easier to long range fly where you live and has very little RF interfere with wide open spaces. I fly in a big city on a university campus and can only go maybe 600 meters (with 2.4ghz). :(
Maybe in this particular direction it's still okay, but I've tested another area and my video is crapping out. I flew it on 900MHz though, haven't flown on 2.4GHz.
you at 300 meter hig.. me i stick tho the ground... i failsafed 50 mw 500hz at 200 meter ground lightly in sight and was 70cm hig ... lol its better when u tchek range... stay close on a field road above grass then fly low until failsafe XD so it fall in grass and no damage and u got an idea of freestyle range XD
Impressive flight brother!! I love LR stuff!! 🔥👊💯
Thanks!

you maxon antenna... make huge difference compared to shit dipole

Thank you so much for your answer, I'll try do what you said...thanks bro
Very nice. Just fitted EP1 on a 5inch and 7inch looking forward to testing both.
Thank you! Happy Flying!

👍👍👍 nice. How many MW was set in Radio Transmitter? How many MW has a Video Transmitter, which antennas are used? 😃
See video and see video description.. 😅

There's not much to it other than making sure you are in Wide switch mode.
Hey neilfpv here! Thank you for helping me. I just sub'd

Set the Switch Mode to Wide (with the receiver not bound/powered up)

Hi its Nice Flight.. How about VTX can use Dinamic range also?
VTX Dynamic Power? Mine don't.
But I have an Aux channel set for changing power levels.
@@deadbyteDrones ok thanks i ll try
What camera and vtx is it and what glasses are they?
I listed the equipment and components in the video description for such questions. Please head over there and check it out! :)
@@deadbyteDrones I already watched, thank you, do you have any videos with a foxeer predator?
@@SrCutter Thank you. Still, the info you wanted is in the description.
No, I do not have the predator. I'm not a product reviewer.. ;)
5km on 100 mw at 250 hz? mhh nice , mh 800mw vtx? han ... so i have to buy that rushtank solo XD did u tried to go to 50 hertz to see lq at 5 km?
it got to 5km at 250Hz.. so of course it'll go further on 50Hz as it has much higher sensitivity than 250Hz.

Horizontal on rear right arm. semi-Vertical on tx.

as you can see with my flying location, I can't always stay meters above ground.
