I want an open source project like ExpressLRS for a digital FPV system. I really want this to happen, to free us from the proprietary DJI and Sharkbyte systems. I think the ELRS community has proven just how great and how much innovation the community itself has to offer, which manufacturers have failed to implement for years.

      There is this project: befinitiv.wordpress.com/wifibroadcast-analog-like-transmission-of-live-video-data/
I haven't tested it myself, but it uses WIFI without association and error-checking. So, if you use 5GHz wifi adapters, it should sort of be business as usual. You would need a Raspberry pi on both ends. For the receiver, that's not a problem - just plug the HDMI out on the Pi to your goggles. On the quad, you need to have space for at least a Zero.

Nick, you have to use RSSIdbm and LQ!!! RSSI is kinda a meaningless scale. RSSIdbm is the actual reported signal level by the radio chip. We choose to have it so RSSI can go to 0 before failsafe so you have a broader range of values but it means you can't really do comparisons with other systems like that. LQ is actually the important parameter because it tells you what % of packets was received with success. I recon you could have gone further on ELRS.

    • @NickBurnsFPV

Like backing up your models in OpenTX etc...And if you never delt with OpenTX & never drop files on a SD card before? It can be a little confusing! I already got the Happy model 2.4 module and two EP1 receivers..
I spent hours on my Radiomaster tx16s last night and it's still showing a firmware warning on the radio when powered up. I haven't even got as far as updating firmware on the Happy model 2.4g module yet! Much less binding any of my EP1 receivers through Wifi or Betaflight passthrough. But I'm very excited about this protocol. And cant wait to see its true potential. I'm really curious about how fast the latency difference vs Tracer which I been flying around for a while. Nick, I have a question. I have purchased the HappyModel TX24 module and three quads with the EP2 RX . I updated my Jumper T12 Pro to the latest version of open tx. created a model and turned on the external module and set the model to CRSF and used the Express LRS tool to create a LUA script, and moved it into the tools folder on the SD card. The module lights up in red, When I attempt to load the script, it freezes with Loading ???/? displayed and will not get past it. It also locks the radio to where I can only use the model created and will not let me change models until restart Do you have any ideas? I also set the baud rate to the lowest setting, and it refuses to load the script!

The script never would load. I downloaded an older version of the release 1.1.2. I'll be damned it worked. I do not realize why the configurator is still 1.3.2 and the latest release is 2.0. I don't know if we really need to have it integrated. The EP2 RX weighs 1/2gram with short wiring maybe adding another 1/4gram. I don't think we will see an AIO with vtx, rx, fc and esc that can support 2s, in the short run. I think the AIO will likely have to drop some component for 2s. We will certainly see a 2.4ghz 1s aio with vtx,rx, fc, and esc, but we will likely have to add a regulator to get to 7v for shark byte. Really, anything is possible with the right partnerships.
