Well rescued. Your lens fogged up as well. Motor cycle stores carry a product called anti-fog spray. It's meant for helmet visors, but works well for FPV lenses.
This is excellent! I just set up ELRS and was wondering about a dynamic power feature - was going to try and fork a branch myself. I will definitely pull yours down and give it a try. Have you discovered any bugs so far?
No frustrations so far. I’m mainly flying in open fields, and the DP feature has worked as expected in the most of the cases. One thing to note is that the power tends to stay on high side once bumped up at distance, which feels like it’s less “intelligent” some time to time. But it’s a safe choice by design. I wonder how it will work in a bando.
@@SunjunKim yes, I'm interested as well! I've been flying alot more urban environments lately and plan to give this a try. I was just looking at your branch familiarizing myself a bit with the repo overall. can I ask how you tested/debugged this in development? have you thought about extending this idea to the packet rate? perhaps a setting to lower it beyond some threshold combination of LQ & power
@@GaiusGarage I’ve complied this using ExpressLRS configurator. It has an option to compile binaries from a local “src” folder. Make sure you declare USE_DYNAMIC_POWER in user_defines.txt or super_defines.txt.
Works very well. Impressive. Do you think The Matek ELRS-R24-D (diversity) will complicate the setup or function ? I have lost 2 REKON 5s and it has to stop.
I've recently flown with SIYI RX (diversity receiver, functionally identical to Matek D) and the master branch (dynamic power is now there!). An intermittent max power occurs (due to the occasional antenna switch, one usually at an awkward orientation), but in most conditions, it's working as expected. The algorithm prioritizes reliability, and I had never failsafe from the diversity+dynamic power setup.
@@SunjunKim i guess this is a pretty bad range , right ? Because other people get 30km out of the 100mw and this is a 1/10 at 50mw 🙄 , I'm guessing the bad weather or ep1 is not good
@@mokshpatel6986 Not really. The power-up threshold was set to 20 dB away from the theoretical link budget (=endurable up to extra 1/100 signal strength), which means it actually had kilometers of distance before a failsafe. "Optimizing the power level barely communicable to the receiver" is not the purpose of the dynamic power implementation. It is meant to save some power with a reliable safety margin. The behavior on the video is totally expected, and it's nothing wrong with the range of the happymodel tx/rxs.

@@GaiusGarage We’ve discussed about dynamic RF rate on the github discussion, but we decided not to do.

Nice work
how did you set up the announcement for the milliwatt for the output? I wanna set it in my radio!

TY!
Great work! How to change output power while you fly? if you can share how
Check the description, thanks!
Mr. Kim, what happened with the link?
It's now on the master branch.
Please follow the new instructions on the ELRS wiki link I updated.
@@SunjunKim OK, thanks and Congratulations!
I would poop my pants nice flying. 👌
Hope this will be merged to master
It's now merged!
