    Great and helpful! Wondering why you didn't just put an elastic on the bottom so it's all snug and no stapler reqd?

    • @SailriteDIY
      @SailriteDIY  3 года назад

      You can do that, but the elastic will allow the fabric cover to move around when an occupant sits on the stool, the staples will not.

    Nice video, I personally wouldn't have bothered with the back tack card underneath, I would of angled the staples and kept them close together just to save time.

    This is a brill post! Thank you for sharing. The only issue I am having is some slight puckering of the fabric when I'm sewing the piping to the top circle. What could be causing that do you think?

    • @SailriteDIY
      @SailriteDIY  7 лет назад +1

      When piping or binding has to go around a curve like a circle the inside flange has to expand and the outside piping has to compress. This sometimes results in wrinkling of the fabric. When possible cut the piping along the bias and this will help it to take the curve slightly better.

    How much material,is need for 2 stools

    • @SailriteDIY
      @SailriteDIY  4 года назад

      You can get about 4 up along the width of a 54" wide fabric. So, for every 14 inches of fabric you should be able to make 4 stool tops (not including the piping). One yard of fabric will do the 2 stools and give you enough for straight cut piping.

    Im a cheater, the stool is light enough to put upside down onto the foam and make the allowance and take foam to the fabric for identical circle...😜 love your videos.
    May I ask for a measuring video?

    What can causes pucker when you stapling it to stool?

    • @SailriteDIY
      @SailriteDIY  3 года назад

      Since the fabric has to shrink up when stapling around the circle you will get some puckering, that is natural.

    I just realise that I need a sewing machine to fix my bar stool and I can't even sew with hand properly let alone using the machine. If I don't sew it,will it wrinkle or something?

    • @SailriteDIY
      @SailriteDIY  5 лет назад +1

      If the fabric is not sewn with a separate side boxing and is instead simply pulled over the foam and chair base it will have a lot of wrinkles.

    I love what she is doing, not too fond of that guy who has to "mansplain" stuff at the end of each segment. Man, talk about an out-of-control ego. I wish this guy would just shut up and let the lady do (and say) her thing.
