Carlos maybe is not as talented as Max or Charles (my opinion), but is smarter than most of the grid and has an understanding of how the car works better than an usual f1 driver. He is a very good asset to any team. He is a very good fit to Albon, very chill personalities. If Williams don't perform this years it is not the drivers fault, they are both way better than the car they have

I would imagine being a top 5 driver who doesnt crash every race would make a big difference for williams especially after last year. They might actually have money to develop their car over 2025 and have enough left over to build a car for 2026. The reported 60 million from Santander is huge as well. That’s not good for red bull at all. Also, Checo was not a bad driver, he was just again, incompatible. Max is just another level. Albon was ideally compatible, he also loves strong front end grip with oversteer, but he said it himself, he’s just not as good as Max. Liam isn’t actually the best fit either, Piastri would do better. Maybe Bortoleto will force him out of that seat and into the Red Bull. That’s my outside bet. I fear Liam will bin it more often than not. He might not even last the summer break trying to keep up with Max.

Adaptable, fast, hard working, technical. A team down the grid really can't ask for anything more, what a signing. Maybe he lacks the absolute pace of someone like Leclerc or Max, but honestly for a Williams driver thats not going to be an issue in the forseeable future. Imo he will absolutely trounce pretty much anyone in a comparable car - the likes of Sauber, Haas, Alpine, even Aston will find it very hard to live with him. Not to mention his ability to identify issues with the car and communicate that clearly with the engineers, an absolute god send for a team like Williams trying to make a push up the grid. As someone with a long time massive soft spot for Williams, I'm very excited to see how they do next year and going into the new regs.

Great content! However, I have to disagree a bit. Sainz and Alonso aren't the only drivers that prefer understeer. Along with Hamilton, who you mentioned, the likes of Checo, Ocon and Magnussen thrive more with an understeery car
@Forest2TS If you take a look at a comparison between their ondoards you'll see that Ocon is smoother with his steering inputs and that he usually uses a higher steering angle (indicating lower front end grip=understeer). On the other hand, Gasly gives more frequent and aggressive corrections and his car seems more peaky
I feel like Carlos is a really good development type of driver. He’s someone that can give such a good feedback and understands the technical side of things to help a team grow and improve. I feel like William might be the perfect place for him because of his skill set And I feel like he could be the driver to bring them back to being a successful team. I definitely think Alex is going to have his work cut out for him but I think Alex has thrown a lot of commitment to Williams and that he definitely is a good driver, and they will keep the team pairingof him and Carlos as long as they can

You might explain the phrase “ use the pedals to steer.” Many may not actually understand what you mean. Especially regarding the differential set up. I suspect that’s where Ferrari made the majority of their setup improvements for him.
Carlos is one of the most adaptable drivers on the grid. He has proven this now over every car he's been in and figures out how to extract quite a bit from it. Also, almost no F1 driver wants a true understeery car. You have to understand when an F1 driver says they want an "understeery" car, they just mean a car that doesn't rotate as easily as say, Max's. If I put most of us into what he calls an understeery car, you'd all lose the back end immediately. I've seen it in iRacing. When you're at the highest levels, a car that they think is pushy, is still undrivably oversteery to a normie.
It will work, but not for the reasons you mention. Using the pedals for rotation means you have finer platform skills & the problem with all backmarker cars is inconsistent downforce. When do you have it? When you go to the edges of optimum aeromap ride heights, the aero map goes way off, so a driver like Carlos will have better chance of driving the car not so close to the limits of the ride height. Basically driving the car more time in the real world optimum aero map window. Alex can extract from time to time amazing Q times, but rarely amazing races, my bet is that Carlos will be bringing lots of points!
Watching this makes me think about how nice life is and how awesome f1 fighter jets would be. But if the pilot crashes because of mechanical failure the whole garage blowsup.

Just as Massa defeated Räikkönen on points, and Williams dedeated Ferrari on the Constructors championship, if Sains defeated Hamilton, and Williams defeated Ferrari, it would be a blast. But, yes, it will not happen again, I know.

Carlos will save Williams $$ too because he brings his cars back to the garage with all four the corners on it........more times than not. I feel Carlos is going to do well at Williams, and not take long to do so, along with making this car much better.

i think the duo of Sianz and Vettel could be the best for any team in terms of technical setup input.
Carlos Sainz is finished... The top teams will be pushing to either retain or recruit Verstappen, Piastri and Leclerc for 2026/2027.
It's likely that Sainz will never race for another top team, or win another race, unless he experiences incredible luck.

Wouldn’t you know albon turned into redbull albon once again and started feeling the pressure letting it effect his performance. Still the same guy. Sainz about to slap him up on track.

Carlos already crashes a ton in the Ferrari. Add a car that is tricky and a team that makes some dangerous calls and it should make for a very entertaining season.
yeah but all the years hes had to adjust to the car, now williams will adjust to his style of driving, from what is coming out that merc have best engine progression, wouldnt be surprised if williams are 3/4th fastest team

@@Real28 he was top 5 in destructors this season. Crashed in canada, monaco, baku and twice in brazil. But to be fair, he was pushing extremely hard trying to prove himself this year and to keep up with Charles. He will be a lot more calculated in Williams.
