His performance is nothing short of Angelic.
Pianos are heavy. This is a damn miracle.
No. Need for an.Ampatheater. Thats quite loud out in the bush.

This is probably at an Elephant resort in Thailand

@@moran68 she is swaying to the music and could clearly walk away if she wanted to. She cant see, so sound is her entire world. She clearly enjoys this
@@moran68 its scientifically proven that elephants are self aware and experience emotions similar to humans and if you know anything about elephant body language you would know that she is enjoying herself.
@@moran68 National Geographic published an atricle on it and its the first thing that comes up when you google elephant emotion. ruclips.net/video/hjsu3SGAdLs/видео.html Heres a vid proving my point but Instead of asking me, someone who you clearly don't find creditable, why dont you do your own research.
Imagine if you could go back in time and tell Bach that one day, hundreds of years after him, his music would be lull an elephant far away in another land.
Beautiful.
...lull an elephant far away in another land, on RUclips where another man's dog would listen too.
Played on an instrument that Johan never had. Harpsichord and organ have no variation of tonal depth. There is no touch tone that Piano- Forte gives.

I just want to thank this man for all he does for these abused elephants. You are a rare breed, especially nowadays. This was so lovely to watch. She loved the music, that’s quite obvious. Her swaying almost seemed like a dance. Beautiful
I wonder if the elephants talk about a mysterious small creature that lures them to the clearing in a forest and surrounds them with magical music that heals the soul.

I did a project on zoos and I'm pretty sure elephants sway when they are bored or nervous... it's cute I guess? Not when you think about the reasoning behind it.
They might sway for different reasons?
@O K You had me look it up. A lot of website seems to be indeed confirming what you are saying but none quote sources for research or anything. A lot of them are just blog post, mostly copied of of each other. I do not say that it is not true, as it is quite possible, but I'd love it if you could actually provide a link to elephant behaviour studies, to confirm that :) I want to make sure before I can repeat the information. (I haven't done a lot of research, just the few first google result pages).
@@Uveryahi My research wasn't predominantly on elephants just abnormal behavior in zoo animals, I just saw quite a few places talk about the swaying. I'm not 100% on it but the video just gives me a weird vibe because elephants have (obviously) much different ears than we do and this music would not sound the same or as good through elephant ears.
Beautiful...she pays so much attention to the music you can tell she's enthralled by it, and the swaying is almost like she's gently dancing. It makes me so happy to see animals happy and at peace like this beautiful elephant.

Try turning the news off a few days a week. Unfortunately since the news is like every other show, it's a business dependent on ratings. Click-bait, fear and anger is what sells. They have no incentive to report life as it really is and the beautiful stories that arise everyday.
Agree, stay away from the news. Keeping stress and anxiety to a minimum is important for your health, and knowing the numbers will not help you with that, nor will they help you protect yourself.

Bryn Shortland I was just basing it off the fact that the elephant was standing still the whole time, as if it was actually captured by the sound of the piano. Of course, I might be completely wrong and maybe it just didn't feel like moving, but that's just the way I interpreted it.

When my bunny got very sick, after he got his medicine, I used to hold him in my arms so he could calm down and we would listen to music. One of his favourites was Shubert's Serenade. My cats love my awful singing ..I sing to them almost everyday, I make up songs with their names in the songs
It turns out animal does appreciate music. That's what I know
Doves like music? That surprises me, but fits my theory on music. After having listened to music with a wild bird from 8 to 14 hours a day for 7 months, I've had some time to ponder how birds listen. They listen without distraction from a busy mind. Humans have minds that are triggered by music to think about stuff. Sophisticated listeners of music understand that thinking and listening conflict. Intense listening involves a quiet mind, and that's difficult to achieve. However, if you've got a birdbrain, like the little wild bird that roosted in my heater box, listening intently is natural and can be maintained all day. The bird found music to be most pleasurable, but it wasn't that simple. I think it did not like listening to music alone. Not in our case, at least, where the bird was so used to following what I did, that music got in the way of it's listening efforts. So, I couldn't leave music playing for the bird and then go do something, because the bird was compelled to keep tabs on me. It's as if it wanted to be involved in the action. As if we were nest mates. The bird has flown the coop, and I'm thankful, since the bird pestered me for music all the time, except when I was sleeping. But, if I were to yawn, or take a deep breath, it would tweet in order to get my sleepy ass out of bed.....to play music. All this sounds crazy, I know. This bird loves all kinds of music....you name it. That is different from most humans, who form strong preferences in music, being unable to listen to some types of music. I'm no scientist, and I don't play one on TV, but I think that music affects the primitive part of the brain, that humans "share" somewhat with other animals, but the advance part of the human brain either accepts that music or rejects it. Some people dislike all music. Some people only like a small portion of music, while others enjoy a wide range of music.
I wish youtube had a "love" button. I love this. This is absolutely beautiful.

We won't be around at all then, we've destroyed the joint
There won't be a Human Race within the next 100 Years if we keep following the trajectory were on. The rate of progress will advance so much that Humanity as we know it will be unrecognisable.
In 30k years people will think how incredible that humans once lived on planet Earth.

Seeing that huge beautiful creature swaying to the Bach piece was heartbreaking. Such a great man to do that.
S P elephants sway when they are in stress.
Luca Bertani that was an amazing response. Poetry in an of itself
Why an elephant sways: You have probably encountered elephants in captivity at some point, and maybe you noticed them displaying abnormal behavior like swaying back and forth or bobbing their head. Did it ever make you wonder ‘why DO elephants sway?’ Maybe it wasn’t just elephants. Have you seen lions pacing or parrots pulling out their own feathers? Animals in captivity have been placed in an un-natural environment. Even if they were bred in captivity, they still possess natural instincts that they will never be able to use like roaming long distances and hunting. This causes them to become mentally distressed, which leads them to perform abnormal behaviors.
Now that's heartbreaking
Lucas, that was beautiful. x)

You can tell by the context of her body language how shes reacting to the different music. To me it seems like when shes still, she is really listening. when her ears flap, she is excited. when her trunk tenses, shes concentrating and thinking. when shes rocking back and forth I think she gets it or simply feels the music. even though we cant speak elephant, they CAN hear music and I believe that because she is blind, she can hear even more. this is am amazing thing Paul is doing. we have much to learn.
General JJ actually that's distressful behaviour
UwU Please explain why?
General JJ its already blind. It locates it's surroundings via sound and probably is very sensitive to sound. There's sudden foreign noise coming out of nowhere and she can't see the source either so she's probably just scared because she doesn't know what's happening and what the sound is
Wouldn't she have walked away if she was nothing but scared? I don't know how much of it is curiosity and how much is appreciation, but it's probably a safe bet that there's something more complex going on than just fear.
UwU But she knows Paul!
Hi, everybody. Who of you have cried, but not of sadness or despair ... cried because you experienced something awesome?
I just did. I have seldom been this deeply touched!!💝
What a beautiful thing to do for an unfortunate animal friend
The world is full of love, we just need to overcome the darkness. This made my day. Thank you.

Oliver Haywood PATHETIC
no.. the task is to face the light. people are afraid to do that because it makes them vulnerable but it is key to find love and truth
Oliver Haywood Animal world is actually really cruel... Just like ours. Just saying.

Love how this guy play for a sole audience. We all feel like we are the one elephant being played to.
I would give anything to sit on the grass next to this elephant while Paul plays the piano.
@The Secret History You are good at parties
In a world which seems to be becoming a hard and unkind place these videos give me a glimmer of hope. Two different species sharing something which joins them both together. My eyes fill with tears every time I watch.
Sophie, have you read “THE ELEPHANT WHISPERER” book?
I love when she sways with the music. Precious.
That was so beautiful it made me cry, a man of 58 yrs old. I thought I have seen all things kind and I was wrong. Bless You All....

Anyone know what the last song he is playing is called??? The one that begins at 4:10
Franz Schubert: Ständchen - Serenade in D minor
What a wonderful man , so glad people like this exist ...
Beautiful 🤗
I'm trying to think of something more beautiful to do with one's life... nope... can't come up with anything.
How about trying to tell politicians not to allow mothers to murder their little children in the womb.
@@Benne175 yess
That might be a beautiful way to spend a life, but the word 'murder' brought hate into it, so for me there is much more beauty in giving a blind old elephant some joy.
@Benne 175
They are not mutually exclusive. And what is more beautiful than sharing comfort and joy with such a creature?
Can't you just say how beautiful this is?
Aw, gentle elephant, you cannot see how beautiful the world around you is, but you can hear it.
What a lovely observation..❤
She also can't see or hear how much some of us adore her. We're of one, so love; universally. Although I see 900 some odd dislikes. They're probably reptilian aliens.. bless em

The universe of Bach reflects all the greatness of God. And elephants are certainly a beautiful creation of His as well :-D
These comments are making me tear up! I love that he's doing this for these elephants.
What a wonderful human being you are Paul. I love what you do as do the elephants. God bless you.xx
