SAN ANGELO, TX - San Angelo's own ARock Beauty & Wellness is franchising and expanding across the Lone Star State and possibly farther.
Autumn Brockman's journey with ARock, San Angelo's premier salon, has been unconventional. Originally from Vernon, near Wichita Falls, Brockman came to San Angelo in the mid-90s to study nursing at Angelo State
University.
However, her path shifted when she discovered her talent as a makeup artist, combining her passion for personal transformation.
By the late 1990s, Brockman was making a name for herself in hair and makeup artistry, gaining recognition in West Texas and Los Angeles. She became sought after for her expertise, working in modeling and appearing in publications like Street Customs, Laid Low, and Performance Auto and Sound. Her career expanded into major commercial campaigns and features in magazines including Maxim, FHM, and Black Men’s Magazine.
In 2008, while advancing her career in Los Angeles, Brockman earned her cosmetology degree from Odessa College. By 2013, she settled in San Angelo, establishing ARock and renting space at a local spa on Knickerbocker Road.
In 2018, ARock expanded into a newly remodeled 4800-square-foot facility, adding massage therapy and makeup education.
This move solidified ARock's downtown presence and supported emerging stylists. Brockman uses social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook to discover talent and promote her brand across West Texas.
Beyond business success, Brockman empowers clients and beauty consultants, fostering self-confidence and entrepreneurship. ARock's Facebook following surpassed 33,200 fans by 2019, reflecting its influence and community support.
Looking ahead, Brockman rebranded ARock as ARock Beauty & Wellness, expanding into medical aesthetics. She is now franchising ARock, planning locations in Abilene and Tyler, Texas initially, aiming to share her success and support beauty entrepreneurs nationwide. Brockman plans to keep the secret sauce the apse throughout all of her locations, which is the genuine desire to help and see others flourish and succeed.
"I'm a team player," says Brockman, focused on growth and collaboration. Pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree, she aims to elevate ARock with entrepreneurial spirit and beauty and wellness excellence.
