As a Scotland supporter, the weekend probably was the best so far. Previously Italy getting close was kind of nice but ultimately drew/lost. The draw against France with the controversial pen. Scotland losing to France and the final controversial try. The first decent game seemed like Scotland England. Nothing against the Irish but I didn't want the final weekend just to be Ireland confirming their GS. They're still going to win (even if they lose to Scotland with a BP). But at least the final GW meant something for other teams. Scotland losing is bittersweet, no chance to win really, apart from a massive win over Ireland. From an Irish fan, England brought a high intensity from the start of the match. They had fast ruck speed and found space. They looked very sharp and outplayed Ireland in large parts of the game. The only positive for Ireland is that they were outplayed, but they scored some good tries, and it still could have gone either way at the end. Even when we were 2 points up at the end, i still thought Eng were going to win with the way the match had went.

Ben is excited but I thought France looked very clunky and disjointed. They got past wales because they essentially bludgeoned them to death. I think England have decent chance if they stand up to them physically and move them around at pace.
It seems a touch hyperbolic to predicate a new glory era for England on the strength of a last minute win by a drop goal and place kicking success around 40% (when to win today's ever tighter matches, you need place kickers who can produce at 80 - 90%). A little more objectivity, chaps?
As an Ireland well done to England - great game. But come on - it was hardly a world beating performance. What happens when France wins at the weekend- back to navel gazing and bashing their players. One swallow doesn’t make a summer.
Just shows Ireland are suffering a world cup hangover. None of their performances this year have been up to standard, it's just been poor opposition and France. England are the first to expose them, but I think its Ireland dropping back not necessarily england advancing.
What a load of nonsense. If you can’t see improvement in Englands performance then you need get a decent pair of glasses. Ireland are not temporarily ‘dropping back’, they have been stagnating because they’ve had almost exactly the same personnel for quite a few years now. They’re not just starting to pay the price for that now, they paid that price during the World Cup. Most of the key members of that squad will be well into their mid 30s by 2027 where Farrell will find himself in a very similar situation to Warren Gatland unless he starts blooding more young players.
What part of that England performance was comparable to the previous year of england performances? They have very clearly advanced. Ireland have possibly slipped a bit but they've looked very tidy in the other games. I think they struggle vs a blitz D.
Not sure about that, Ireland is the best team in the world currently, they play spectacularly, one point loss against England does not change all the good work, and I’m not Irish
Don’t see why Scotland shouldn’t look at replacing the coach . Could have been done after WC 2019 . 4 years on this team has peaked and won nothing . Not even come close to winning anything . France to win .. quite easily.. from an Englishman... if we win Borthwick will get all the glory.. i personally want him gone ... The Irish win had nowt to do with Borthwick..
Yeah he's got absolutely nothing to do with it at all, nothing to do with the rebuild, the quality of the set piece, nothing to do with actually selecting and sticking with players and giving starts to players that EJ would've just ignored after 1 game.
Surely had George Ford been on the field at the end of the Ireland game, he would have realized that he a free play and would have gone for the try that could really help England in the final standings with a bonus point. With Marcus Smith, what we got instead was a rush of blood to the head, and him falling on his ass as he kicked a DG, and the soaking up of glory.
Why do every pundit on all the podcasts ignore the try that never was by England. An England player throws a pass with his foot firmly in touch, a line out to Ireland , instead seven points to England. No one doubts it was refreshing to see England play the way they did, but for the TMO and the linesman to let that pass was pure robbery. Applaude England for finally playing rugby as we all agree, but if the shoe was on the other foot what would the pundits be saying? Ireland win by default? It was a crazy decision to let that go it was so blatant and not as if the TMO didn't see it, impossible for them not to see it. I'm glad to see England let loose for once but don't talk about a new dawn for England, it was nothing of the sort, they always could have played with ball in hand instead of George Ford kicking the rubber off the ball,. The only reason they got to the semi final of the world cup was because of the group they were in, the quarter finals were a travesty, South Africa, France, Ireland and New Zealand pitted against each other, does anyone really believe England would have beaten any of them in a quarter final? So stop getting carried away with this win won on a try that should never have been allowed. That's the reality.
Cmon “what if England played that way in the WC what would have happened” really two weeks ago you played that system and got trashed by Scotland who were in turn beaten by Italy . It’s no wonder no one likes England 😂😂😂
The italians are a lot better than they appear to play against certain teams. They always run France and Scotland close becauase they've got the belief to win those games. If they can find the belief against other top teams they can do the same. Is funnily enough the exact same problem Scotland suffer from.
@@joeboonmusic4004 oh so they only came up with against Ireland , grow up I think you mean they played the system badly against Italy Wales and Scotland , 1 out of 4 makes some sense…🤣
Were you from David walker ? If your Irish be quiet you’ve never won a wc knock out game , Scottish you’ve just lost to Italy never won a six nations and if your Welsh your playing for the wooden spoon
@@davidwalker2402 Grow up? The fuck does this have to do with growing up, man? Pipe down. I'm saying errors weren't exactly part of the gameplan. New coaches, new systems, it's going to take a while to bed in... we all know that. What matters is that they are getting better with every game, something that can only be said of Italy in this tournament. I'm equally inquisitive as to who you support...
England still suck. You all thought beating the All Blacks once in the 2019 semi final was something. What have you done since then? England have always been good enough to beat a better team every now and then, but you don’t have the quality, or depth to sustain anything. And it doesn’t help that you constantly overrate and overhype yourselves and your players.
Have you read the caption under the video ??? It says " Was Englands victory the start of a new Era " . It did not say england are world beaters after one win against a top team - no overhyping here
@@CharlieMain-q9y Wrong. I never said they think they’re world beaters after 1 game. I’m criticising the fact that 1 good win is all it takes for them to think they’re starting something. As I said, after 1 win in 2019 they thought they were starting something with a young, ‘talented’ team, and the result was a team that was nowhere near as talented as they thought. So why would this 1 win start a ‘new era’?
@@jameswyatt4443 They've been in a spiral for a while, so yes, a big win is a big deal and we actually started to play the game with the ball in hand. England are the most successful team in the NH and have equalled the win-streak record and, even with a new coach, got within a point of SA in the semis. So we won't be having any of those lies about England beating a 'better team every now and again'. What a damn joke. People like you are the problem with rugby on social media. England don't 'suck' get over yourself, who do you even support? My guess is either SA or Scotland/the SA D team.
@@joeboonmusic4004 In your last 11 games against the top 4, you’ve won 2 games. That’s every now and then. Like I said, one big win, doesn’t mean you’re starting something. It hasn’t started anything since 2003. We’ve seen 20 years of England ‘starting a new era’. You guys suck, that’s a fact. And I’m South African.

Surely had George Ford been on the field at the end of the Ireland game, he would have realized that he a free play and would have gone for the try that could really help England in the final standings with a bonus point. With Marcus Smith, what we got instead was a rush of blood to the head, and him falling on his ass as he kicked a DG, and the soaking up of glory.
the fans needed that
No
Stop they won one match.gods sake france will destroy them .and I'm not talking sous grapes
Carlisle not Preston, Cumbrian not Lancastrian.
Please get your geography right 🤠
Dirty team grunge filth player Spain backs irelanda
Cmon “what if England played that way in the WC what would have happened” really two weeks ago you played that system and got trashed by Scotland who were in turn beaten by Italy . It’s no wonder no one likes England 😂😂😂
The italians are a lot better than they appear to play against certain teams. They always run France and Scotland close becauase they've got the belief to win those games. If they can find the belief against other top teams they can do the same. Is funnily enough the exact same problem Scotland suffer from.
England didn't play the same system against Scotland what are you on? They fumbled the ball millions of times, that wasn't part of the 'system'.
No.
@@jameswyatt4443 the point of the article is that it is a big deal because we have been playing so badly and no one is denying this just enjoying the moment. . A bit too complicated perhaps to follow
Rubbish English played by kicking in head on line out cheated crossing over. Double move for English last try I saw english as a dirty team and got away with it by a stupid ref from Spainish
