Thank you so much for covering Patsy and her family. She was Lillie Langtry's close friend and confidante along with Oscar Wilde. I am very intrigued by Mary--it would be wonderful to hear more about her, and her racing career, as she sounds quite gutsy and way ahead of her time!
Wow, this was a crazy bunch! I love the picture of Stella with the tiny dog! Good job on this one!
Thank you so much! :)
I knew the name George Cornwallis-West through his marriage to Jenny Churchill, but didn't know much more than that. Thank you ~ fascinating presentation. 💫
Thanks for watching 😁
The Spencer’s are related to both the Churchill and Washington (as in George)families.
Ridiculous real estate. 400 rooms! You can't live in that. It's a museum rather than a home.
I bet it was cold, the food was never warm. The kitchens are so far from the dining room the food is served cold.
This was the way it was in Buckingham Palace. It took a half hour to get from the kitchen to dining area.
When ppl hear about King Charles III ordering 7 soft boiled eggs started at different times was so he could get a bloody soft boiled egg that was not too hard, or soft or cold.
The food doesn't go to waste. Someone eats the rest or puts it into a salad.
Would you turn it down if it were given to you? I would and put it to better use.😊
Well, those mansions weren't supposed to be family homes, or at least not only family homes. They were often owned by families with an important role in public life, so all the political negotiations that now take place in offices or other public or semi-public buildings were then carried out at big social/political events at the mansions of important political leaders. There are other reasons, of course. A very old family might have a house that was a quite convenient size when the family needed to house a small army to defend their territory. Of course, ambitious self-made men would want a big house like their social superiors from older families, and could afford to hire the servants needed to run one.
The name ‘FITZ’ added to surnames, indicated the illegitimate child of royalty. As per King Henry vIII
"Fitz" IIRC just generally means 'son of".
It is "Fitzroy" in particular that means "son of a king" and was used, for example , for illegitimate sons of Henry VIII and Charles II
My maternal 's mother 's father was called Fitzjohn from King John of England.
Another great upload 😀
Thanks again! :)
Yes definitely follow up on her daughters. I really enjoyed this episode as I do all of your research but I was not as familiar with this family. Thank you so much for your dedication and commitment to the history and passion to presenting your reviews.☮️
Will do!
that was both interesting and entertaining. I'm always glad to come back to your videos.
I also love the pacing of your speech. it's easy to follow and stay concentrated.
Thanks again!
Time to get involved with you, narrating those intriguing histories, yet, fabulous to listen to. Thanks FLives!
Any time! :)

🙏You! :)
Profoundly fascinating! Thanks so much!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
😂 you gave me a bit of a clue about my family history. My grandmother insisted that we were German despite speaking Polish at home growing up. Her grandparents came to the US in the late 1800s. When myself & my cousins did our dna (our dad's were brothers) we had no German ancestry & were actually Polish. The funny thing is that our dad's surname appeared to be German, except he was not either. The majority of the matches were in Silesia and lesser in the north of Poland. My grandmother's family also changed their last name to something that sounded more English.
Omg the whole Germany Poland thing. I've been doing genealogy for 18 years, and oh, the confusion that causes. I had a guy I was researching who was from that area before he immigrated to Ohio. I swear every census his birthplace was different. Germany, Prussia, Austria, Poland. It was wild.

Their Story Was So Confusing, I Thought It Was An Episode From Jerry Springer.
I’d really love to know how you became so immerse in your chosen topic. It’s so fascinating and I don’t think I’d know any of this without you.
Another great one for the books! Thank you
My pleasure!
Best channel ever.
Thanks!!!
Would definitely like to hear more!
Love this!! You're a pro at making vids 💯
My father told me that we descended from the West line that brought people across the Oregon trail. Descended from the B. V. Delaware.
This family is like a bad soap opera!
Would love to hear more about Mary! We love a gender role breaking queen
You pronounced Ruthin correctly! Well done, I'm impressed. Wonderful little place just up the road from me.
I looked it up :)
@@ForgottenLives Diolch yn fawr iawn, cariad! (Thank you very much dear)
Thank you👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Welcome 😊
Very interesting story 😊
Really impressive - one family manages to encompass all that was *and still is* wrong with british “society” I guess we should be grateful so few of them managed to spawn.. well done on the video though, beautifully researched.
Thanks you!
Thanks very much.
Good x
I was under the impression that Fitz before a name meant recognised illegitimate but having no right to titles or estates. My mother's mother's father was FitzJohn related back to King John of England.
I would love to learn about the three daughters!
Daisy's sons are the worst...
George doesn't have children
Constance's children are the best.
The women didnt hesitate to lift their skirts .
Mom: why don't you meet girls out there?
The Girls out there:
Not scandalous at all. It was awful to have to negotiate this quagmire of stuffy toffs. I hope someone in this arranged mess was happy.
Typical English answer

First!!!!😊
Yes you are!
I was interested however, after watching just 30 seconds, that irritating voice made my finger press STOP
I really like his voice so there😊
They weren’t a royal line. They were aristocrats. They were members of the German nobility. Not royalty
Could you look in to James Smithson? He gave the founding donation to build the Smithsonian in the US but he was born the illegitimate child of a woman from Bath in the UK.
For sure!
The illegitimate son of the widow of a wealthy man and the 1st Duke of Northumberland.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love every time I see a new upload from you. Thank you for your work. ❤
Be still my heart, those lips. :)
Thank you I really loved this video
Glad you enjoyed it!

Song🎉🎉🎉🎉
I so enjoy your content! Thank you❤
I'm so glad!
I love these videos on not so well known historical families, they are so fascinating and shows how the upper class society was less forgiving for scandal than what was allowed for ordinary people. ❤
Glad to hear it, thanks !
Extremely detailed Fascinating series ❤
Glad you think so!
Their brother wrote a book which I read as a teenager. It was fairly tedious
❤
Consistently uninspiring family.
I think you should do one on the penningtons of muncaster castle uk
Hard to keep track of all the bed hopping going on in this family. Marriage didn't crimp their busy dating schedules at all.
Wasn't it Patsy who tried to blackmail Bertie after he became king by threatening to publish his letters to her?
No, that was his mistress after Lillie, Daisy, Countess of Warwick.
Thanks!
No problem!
“Dirty Bertie” certainly fit King Edward VII. I know that early marriage was a thing back in the 19th century, but a 30 something crown prince carrying on with a 16 year old is just disgusting.🤢 I’m glad Patsy was able to get something out of their relationship to “help” her family. Marrying for money is definitely not all that it’s hyped up to be!
❤
Speak a bit faster please.
Just speed it up to 1.25
I love the cadence of his voice 😊
