  • The fourth technological revolution has begun. No domain remains untouched.
How should we view technological competition with our adversaries from the unfree world, especially China?
Are the battles over 5G and artificial intelligence purely technological, or do they imply choices between competitive ideologies in a changing world order?
Can we distinguish between technologies that bring risk and those that do not as a basis for deciding on whether to cooperate with China?
Can the US and the EU find common approaches to this challenge?
What do China’s immediate neighbours think?
How does China itself define security and how does China’s leadership implement this definition?
Can we separate technology and geopolitics?

If you're worried about dependence on external countries for anything, then the problem isn't do it yourself.
The problem is that we spend TRILLIONS on weapons, and not a dime on figuring out how we can work together while ensuring respect & safety for all.
This is the world Europeans have created a world of adversaries in which there are only winners & losers.
This is not a human world. Humans historically win when other humans win, we wouldn't be here if that wasn't the case!

@@xoxaunconcious3374 Hasn't always been that way, but if the most powerful countries decided to work together and enforce rules, we would have a better world.

@@fallonmassey4714 When it wasn't that way? I never said they should stay silent. I am just stating particular populism you said regarding weapons' spending. That spending will never disappear because as Russia and NK proved, if any country wants to do any kind of geo-political moves(good or bad) and exist on the map - you at least need nukes otherwise you turn into Libya. But to myself, these discussion groups although entertaining are largely utopian. China had long term strategy, no else had anything in agenda but short-term greed leading to uncontrolled consumerism leading to mass production, China simply exploited(and exploits) our animal desires and it won. I think cultural collapse is at the core of the reasons why, it couldnt be a better time for a new Messiah to come and lead the way, as long as people have faith - in anything they will try to unite. As of now,
people are lost as they have too many desires desiring too much and wrong idols promoting the very same desires.

Alas Chinese means through advancement is though good but it's ambitions and goal is predatory and inhumane . Problem lies there. And this is problem is inborn with communist ideology . They experimented this predatory ideology firstly on their own public e.g.. they banned all religion because maotsetung thought that religion is an opium. Observation of the panels:
Samir:- Was too fired up with the emotions and hate against China, thus he failed to make a sensible contribution to the overall discussion and how to counter China realistically and not just wishful thoughts and expectations. His begging for partnership and collaboration with Europe to sideline China completely might work well for India's rhetoric, but Europe have a different idea of China as a challenge. They are not as emotionally as invested as Indians do to the challenge of China, and understandably so. Just like here we say - "National Interest First", Europe have their own interest and priority when it comes to China.
Dean Cheng:- A typical USA propagandist who will blame everyone else (particularly China) except themselves. America is like that Husband who sleep with your wife/others wife, violates all the human rights and international laws that was written, would lectures you on moral values etc. -- but he doesn't want you to do any of that, not even a bit. If you do, even if it's just little, he'll announce to the world that you are the most evil creature on earth and should be destroyed. 😆
The other two panels from Europe - are just playing it safe. We can clearly see, they know China is a challenge, a strategic competitors but they also don't want to blindly follow the US anymore. It has hurt them more than many times, including the current inflation :-). So they are looking for their own path in the broader scheme of theme.
Note: I love how the so called EXPERTS are sometime so unintelligent and defective LOL. The USA guy at the end said - CCP is happy because it's populations is getting older!!! Like WTF!! 😆. If that's the case, then why is the same CCP promoting for more children nowadays after dismantling the 'one-child policy'?? They even went to the extent of cracking down many expensive private education system in China (at the cost of their own economy and reputation) to make education more affordable to parents, so that it will encourage them to have more children.

The CCP must love these types of forum. They elaborate all the Chinese weaknesses upon which the Chinese, with intensive review, could address and rectify. They can only be encouraged to continue with “ impunity “ those things, which seem to benefit the Chinese and the envy of the West. Perhaps, if the likes of Samir would spend more of his intellect to identify which strategies deployed by the Chinese, would also advance India, if adopted, he would do India , China and indeed the world , a positive contribution. The CCP has done positively more for the Chinese people in 40 years than anyone could imagine. That is what Govts. are for ! The CCP made a lot of mistakes along the way, but without making these mistakes, China would not be benefitting in their current situation when longevity has virtually doubled. The greatest value in life is to live as long as possible, not withstanding all the challenges, which one confronts.
China needed to change very dramatically, in order for it’s people to benefit to this extent. Why is the panel , not acknowledging that the sum total of the actions of the CCP, is good, when the client is the Chinese populace ? I cannot but be more surprised to the stupidity to the contention that the ageing population viewed by the CCP as a benefit to its challenge in governance, because Old People do not Protest.
First, he is admitting that people do and can protest in China and unwittingly, and choosing to credit past protests, ultimately resulted in life longevity. Again, why do satisfied people still have the compunction to protest; when they are happy ? To them, they have arrived at their intended destination, most presumptuous for anyone else to decide that for them.
To any panelist, you have to have a clear vision what is best for you, as opposed to what you want. Therefore, show some humility. Even you cannot alway choose the environment in your pursuit, why do you indulged in acrimonious condemnation of another’s success ?

Sri Lanka owes 81% of its external debt to US and European financial institutions and Western allies Japan and India. China owns just 10%. But Washington blames imaginary “Chinese debt traps” for the nation’s crisis, as it considers a 17th IMF structural adjustment program.
An additional 2% of Sri Lanka’s foreign debt was owed to India as of April 2021, although that number has steadily increased since. In early 2022, India was in fact the top lender to Sri Lanka, with New Delhi disbursing 550% more credit than Beijing between January and April.
Both Japan and India are key Western allies, and members of Washington’s anti-China military alliance in the region, the Quad.
Together, these Western firms and their allies Japan and India own 81% of Sri Lanka’s foreign debt - more than three-quarters of its international obligations.
