- Most of our sites have been hard to access due to flooding rains, but that isn't going to stop me from doing everything in my power to keep finding fossils! Luckily, there's a multitude of ways to find fossils in Florida if you're willing to put in the time and get creative. So in this video I head out to an old dirt road site where I've found some beautiful druzy quartz crystals as well as marine fossils. Stick around and see what I find!

It is time to rejoin forces for a series of epic (but very weird) fossil hunts. It is time.
The time is nigh. The internet must prepare for what is about to unfold.
The stars have aligned!!
Yes please!
I was just thinking about how it's been way too long since there was a Chris and Kyle, guys day out!
I totally agree. It's been way to long since we've seen, PaleoCris, WildKyle and Derek.🙂
"I am a child and I like rocks." LOL. I am nearly 51 years old and I like rocks...and I like watching you and PaleoCris find rocks.
No hope for you friend, I am 68 nearly 69, and “ love “ finding rocks!
Don't ever grow out of it! I know I never will!
He can't be 50!
Your stoned Kyle!
Legend has it that on remote Florida roads you can see a man aimlessly wondering the road in search of treasure and the duck man is usually not far behind. 😂🤪 Awesome video Kyle, keep it up.
The Duck Man is always watching.... always waiting... always plotting....
Definitely long hair! You're rockin the locks! 🙂👍
My brother-in-law had a load of sand/dirt brought in for his driveway. My nephew was picking out the echinoids! I already owe them a bag of rocks...everytime I visit I pick up a handful of rocks from their walkway to the house!
PS. The debate is moot! Long hair it is!
Thanks for taking me along on your fossil hunt. I vote long hair. Always long hair. Lol
I recently visited Sanibel Island, FL. for the first time and absolutely freaked out when we stopped at the beach area after getting off the causeway. Why, you may ask?! Because I found fossilized shells as soon as I stepped on the beach! Apparently, they use the shell pits to shore up the beach areas after the causeway, too. I got the tell my family all about what I’ve learned from my RUclips friends WILDKYLE and PaleoCris. So many amazing fossilized shells. Thanks for being such a great and enthusiastic teacher. 🐚
That sounds like so much fun Sarah! Thanks for sharing that with me, and I'm happy to hear you've been able to learn from us. Keep on looking!
I was just at Sanibel Island the end of July! Was slightly disappointed, the shelling was not as good as the other times I have gone. But I understand its a tide thing and there were tons of people...so it got picked over fast @ Lighthouse Beach.
It was my first time ever visiting there! I had the best luck after a storm rolled in after my 2nd day there. The day before we left I went to Captiva and there was tons of shells. I had never seen a live sand dollar or starfish and there were tons at the beach I was at in Sanibel. I really look forward to going back.
Would you consider doing a fan meet and greet one day? Sell like raffle tickets to people who have their fossil permit and who ever wins gets to meet you and maybe you take them on a little hunt. I would absolutely love to just meet you. You seem like a awesome guy with a great perspective on life. I love your energy and can feel it watching you. Thank you for your videos.
You wouldn't be WildKyle without the hair. It suits your personality. Definitely keep it!
Lol the same headlight on my crv is faded as well, definitely not a piece of junk mobile, those things keep running and running, mines up to 337,000 miles!
In Venice travelling back roads from here south. Never found an echinoid
Some really cool fossils, that druzy sure is pretty. Loved it when you rolled up in your car singing and jumped out to get the “fossil”!🤣🤣🤣. Sometimes you will want your hair long, sometimes you may want it short. I just hope you never tire of taking us on your fun adventures!🦖🦕🐚🦋
Yes, I loved feeling like a fossil and being a Wild Kyle snack! It was goooooooooooooooood
So awesome to just take a drive, by yourself and look for fossils. What a fantastic day!!!
Part of the fun is looking for the rocks. Finding stuff is just a bonus! ♥️
It's a joy watching you do your videos. Its what you love and you can be silly no matter the time of day, your so fun to watch when you're in the wild 😆 your videos are awesome, amazing, and fantastic. I've been watching your videos for some time now I've shared a few with my sister. She wanting to get out and find some of those fantastic finds fossil you've shared 😀. Have a great day 👍👍👍
Love your videos. Same sense of quirky weird humor as me. 🤣🤣. Makes me laugh. Thanks for the 🎥. Stay Crystal 💫
Kyle! happy to see you happy and healthy, stay safe and continue your fossil activities! Love from Japan!
I thoroughly enjoyed this video!! Thank you for sharing your passion about all things fossil and nature and reminding us we aren't alone in our crazy😜! Take care Kyle! 😀💜
Fun and thank you for taking me along. As far as the hair, keep it wild Kyle.😁
Loved the video, as always. Awesome finds and man, you crack me up with some of the things you do 😂 Makes my day 👍 I'm with you, I like your hair long.
Always fun riding along with you!
Nice drive with some cool rewards!
Great finds on your trip!
Your first T-shirt for the channel- "I am a Child and I like Rocks!!"
Ah yes that is a great idea!
Always enjoy your videos thank you
Hello from Colorado handsome young man! I hope you all stay safe with the storm coming. I enjoy watching you. Throw a braid in your awesome hair and you won’t be so hot lol It’s the grandma in me looking out for you!! Lol ✌🏼💜😂
Looks like the storm took a turn away from us, but there's some others floating around out there, so I'm hoping for the best! Hopefully no big storms this season!
Or try a ‘man bun’ … I love the long locks, but understand the need for cooling off!
Very cool finds!
I love when you go down these roads
Love the hair & all your fossil hunts. Keep going, very interesting stuff. ☮♥️
A Child of the 60's here so you KNOW I'm all for the lovely long locks. Been with you on all of your rock hunts and your shinanigans, you have a great sense of humor. Would love to see a GUYS day out doing some fossil hunting / bottle hunting. Hope your family are all doing well. Have you had time to sit back and enjoy your Michigan finds properly yet? That trip was a blast. Anyway take care my you-tube friend, keep rockin' !!!
Glad you like the locks my friend hahaha! Thank you for being here to support my channel :) I'm itching to do some bottle hunting soon. We might be fossil diving this thursday. Stay tuned! I have definitely been able to enjoy my Michigan finds. I made a video of cleaning the matrix off my pyrite I found up there. Give it a watch if you haven't seen it yet!
totally unrelated to the fossils but this light makes your eyes really beautiful!
Thank you Lisa :)
@@WILDKYLE anytime Kyle, I've missed seeing your face. I'm loving this binge watching I got to do now though 😁❤️
Enjoy the long hair as long as you can!!💜
Nice video my friend!!
Congratulations 😊😊
Hey Dude you look really rested and chill today, doing your own sweet thing on the dirt roads. We're holidaying up in Scotland this week, but I still had to find somewhere with enough reception today to catch this episode 😅
Back to the grass root roads huh Kyle? Lets go. Cant wait to hear more of your music. I love it so much. P.S. Your long hair makes you even more of a Rock Hunting Star than you already are. Advise from a bald former long hair. Put it into a mohawk at least once before it falls out. lol
I like your thinking air on full blast , creeping the road and fossil spying.
A very relaxing way to do it :)
I grew up in Gainesville! Picked up fossils 60 years ago! Still in Michigan and been out late with my new FS pro UV Light!
Nice and cool tonight, don’t even need a fan!
Heading through Estill County Kentucky on the way back to Franklin, NC for some KY Agates! Gotta try out my new lights on the Rubies at Chunky Gal! Almost three months rocking the Great Lakes! Hate to go home!
That sounds like you've been having an amazing time Nancy! Good luck in NC and KY. Those are both places on my bucket list!
Long hair looks good on you!! Love your curls!
Wildkyle, you won my heart ❤ when you picked up trash. Besides that really enjoyed fossil hunting with you. New subscriber!
Back in the home state! You need an umbrella hat. 😂
Hahahaaha great idea, yes I do!
Really enjoy your videos. I found one tiny echinoid today and was thrilled! And I like your long hair. I grew up in the 70's.
Everything is beautiful. You should keep some of the things you wouldn’t normally keep. Sell them or have a giveaway. I thought a few of the pieces you tossed back were very nice. Until the next video. ✌🏻❤️🙂
I love finding econoids on my property in north Texas it is so much fun I find Heart urchins on my property I love them so much they look like little bread rolls they are so cool
I also loved the fossil point of view video towards the end. 😜
I need to explore more. Went to Lake Ashby today hoping to find something but their trail didn't have much. It was fun. Took my girls to enjoy the nature trail.
The fun part a out exploring is it's never a wasted trip, even if you don't find anything! It's always just a nice experience to get our in nature. ❤️
@@WILDKYLE being in nature is definitely never a wasted trip. I love walking around listening to the animals, bugs, trees, and looking at the ground.
I like the long hair, but a little shorter, but not the little boy hair cut. The locks on your car gave away it's age. LOL I haven't been rock hunting for so long. I have too many chores and not enough free time. So I'm living vicariously through you videos. thanks! Maybe soon I can get out on the road and do some hounding. Please God!
Enjoyed the trip with you…would love to find some of the econoids
It's your head my friend and your choice. Just keep looking for fossils, rocks and shells and let us watch!!!
So awesome and satisfying watching this. The only fossil hunting I've done is on the great lakes.
echinoids are my favorite fossils. I wish I could find them on dirt roads too!
I love your hair, don't cut it. It's the WildKyle image.
Love the fossils and your videos. Definitely keep the long hair!
Love watching you fossil hunt, I don't have anything like that near me.
I got to be like #1,000!! Woop woop. Great work as always sir Kyle
glad you are back in Florida!
It's good to be back 😊
Hey Kyle ✋ ...that was a fun little solo trip. Ok... here's what I say about your hair...go with whatever you like or what's comfortable. So... If you find any chert that's smooth and waxy.... hold on to it. Good for Flint knapping.👍 Thanks for sharing. Take it easy 🙃
💘 LOVE your long hair, Kyle... also loved your bit of what it feels like being a fossil you discover... you make me laugh! Love you 😍.
Happy that I could help you laugh Mary. Thank you! :)
Rub one out on it
Nothing better that just driving around looking for "goodies". Btw....long hair suits you better!!
I'd go crazy ,seeing those fossils ,the snake plants growing wild .
Love the video as always Kyle, you ever do something silly for the camera and realize someone was watching the entire time?
Hangin' out on a swamp road, what could be better. I'm bald so if you have it flaunt it!! Be happy, safe and stay healthy 😷⚒
What's up Kyle? I hope things are going well. Take it easy out there in that summer heat🌞
I'm doing fantastic Jessica! Hope you are as well. This summer heat really is something else!
I love the fact that I am not the only person taking sparkly flint home. I am very curious about dating of the rock/clay you are exploring. Looks remarkably like weathered chalk which is dated at 100m years on this side of the pond. Is that what remains after some younger, shallow sea ?
Those Echinoids remind me of the sand dollars that we have on the beaches in WA.
Keep it long!!
Looks like you had a good day. I love the echinoids. I liked how you showed the fossil viewpoint😅. And you are handsome either way, with short or long hair.
Hey Kyle, Definitely love the long hair but would love your content either way. If I can ever leave Australia, I would love to come to Florida for some rock and fossil hunting, or if you guys were ever over here after the dreaded pandemic is over, I would love to join you! I live in Queensland, and I would recommend Emerald, Queensland (Aptly named) or Winton or Agate Creek.
Definitely long hair! Love watching you do anything in your videos!
"I am a child and I love rocks"
Me - yes Kyle yes! let the inner rock loving child live on even after you're of old age! Lol I love you're spirit Stay rocking ! 😉
I'll never grow out of it! Child-like curiosity is so important to have!
@@WILDKYLE - 😳😳 why? … But why? … … 🙄🤦🏼♀️🤷♀️😉🤪
huge envy and appreciation from the UK. i'm also adopting shizzaster as a nicer version of clusterfuuu..
Enjoyed the video! Keep the hair. If not how can you been wild man Kyle?
I like the long hair! Guys don't seem to let their hair grow out long anymore. 🐚
You should do a how to clean up the finds video!!
I love your long hair 😁 another great video Kyle any news on goin to the econoid island with Chris?
The long hair FOR SURE suits Wild Kyle!👍👌
Also, I thought you calling these econoids "shazasters" was a joke and that it is derived from the word "disaster"😂
As a fossil laying on the ground I was both scared and excited lol
Love the fossil hunting!
You rock the long hair! I want an echinoid! You're such fun to watch! I'm a new sub. 👣💖
Loved the video! I love the long hair do you ever put it in a ponytail?
Hey Wildkyle, throw that beer can in a trash bag. FL cops can be picky and get you for open container. Dont wanna see you in trouble or hassled man!! ♥️
“BIG RISK” lol Kyle, u don’t need click bait, cuz we’re all children who love rocks and watching u find ‘em.
❤️❤️❤️
My dinosaur always falls asleep on long rides also.
3:52 haha xD
Love watching your videos.I wish you would give locations. Long hair definitely suits you.
Coolio!
Long for sure!
Kyle- I love the longer hair but when it was the Eddie Vedder length- longer and nearing your shoulders. I really enjoy your channel.
Hello mr WildKyle ❤️👍🤟😎
You fit best in the hair you like and enjoy Kyle 👍
Hey Kyle! Couldn't help but notice your hat and wonder what the story behind that is? I'm up here in South Dakota myself. You wouldn't happen to know any good places to look for fossils/rocks around here, would you?
Also, DEFINITELY better with the long hair.
Great video again. ☺️ And I agree with you. You rock both haircuts, but the long hair makes you look more mature.
Yo I love your videos I wish I could have a meg tooth 😢 but otherwise you have great finds
Another terrific video, with the exclusive, up close, and personal look at the Wild Kyle himself about to collect a fossil! Love the long hair, love your music, love your channel. Stay wild.
East of Imnokalee & LaBell? I am almost sure I have been on that road.
Definitely LONG ❤
I wish I could go sifting in creeks with you and Paleocris
I’m lucky enough to go into underground limestone mines here in the U.K., the quartz you have in it we call Brash here, normally in a vertical joint, sometimes wide enough to climb through or up
Not as many fossils here though
I wish I could find stuff on the dirt roads in Clay county. 2 years ago they changed the road stuff to a mix of clay and crush lime rock. Nothing but pieces the size of your thumb nail now.
I live near Clay, Duval and Baker....i know a couple places to check. Will post if i find a good spot or two!
Ya! It's too long Kyle. Compromise & trim off about 4-5 inches. 😁🇨🇦♥️🇨🇦
I’m a Boomer from 1952…. ❣️❣️The Long Hair 👍 and a lifelong rockhound.. 🥰
