I cremated my Dad because I could not afford a funeral and burial. Plus all his family had passed away. My Dad passed away when he was 91. I hope God doesn't hold that against me. My Dad was a Christian. Thanks Pastor Doug for this insight. God bless you!

My Mother passed away in August. She chose cremation to not put a burden on anyone more than a cremation fee. I really struggled with this and the dust you are and dust you shall return came to my mind. Plus, may people were burned my Roman emperors and were ashes. The Father will give them a new body He can give her one too

I'm not okay that she is the victim of a biological weapon created by our own government through the university system with their bed buddy China used to control us. No, I'm not a conspiracy theorist. Those are all facts that have come out in the last 2 years.
I would bury my Mom for however much it cost if I knew I got to lay and wait for our Savior next to her when I go...if I go before He returns. I don't know if that's the choice of the person going to make or the people left behind to deal with it.
I'm most certainly NOT mad at her. The hospital pushed it on her

There are instances where it is simply too complex to arrange a burial and cremation is a far more viable option. As an example, elderly expat retirees here in the Philippines obviously die from time to time and it’s far easier to ship home an urn of ashes than a body. I personally feel that burial is the preferred method simply because that was standard practice in Biblical times. For example Joseph’s bones were carried out of Egypt … a dead man was tossed onto Elisha’s bones and instantly sprang back to life, etc. it’s like the Valley Of Bones in Ezekiel as opposed to a ‘valley of ashes’ … but of course God isn’t fazed by ashes or bones when He brings people back to life in the near future

So, I buried his ashes in my backyard so that when Jesus comes back and the dead in Christ rise, he will have a grave to burst out of. The way I see it is the people that have been dead for generations have turned to dust already anyway.

I personally believe burial. Historically, I found that cremation is part of devils work. I'm sorry to say that. Abraham, Isaac, generation of Israelite strongly believe in burial. Understanding that accidents, fire, disasters or any thing kill your body IS NOT in your hands or your decision therefore God knows its not your fault.
Devil deceive people minds and even many leaders of church say it's ok to cremation. It's sad and grieve to my heart. Decision based on while you are still alive saying you choose to cremate your body... is considered murdering to your body.
Surprising, many do felt guilt when they decide to cremate the bodies. God is trying to tell you not to do that. This is nothing to do with religion or my belief. I only studied and researched. God himself revealed to me many times. I did not expect that because I prayed for the answer. I strongly encourage you to seek certainly things you need to know and God will show you truth. 🙏

I always felt uncomfortable with the intentional destruction of the body after death, but eventually even buried bodies rot and decay. Now that I am older it is more about not burdening my loved ones with large expense. Just like medicine has become a racket so has the funeral industry. I don’t need a large nor fancy funeral either just close loved ones gather at my favorite place say a prayer and bury my ashes and go on and live a good life.

It's not mentioned in the Bible and in the book of Ezekiel it's mentioned when we buried someone in the graveyard, we should not come to the temple or church for 7 days because the house of God will be defiled? This may help those who fear cremation. According to the law of conservation of mass, it states that in a chemical reaction, mass is neither created nor destroyed. Burning is a chemical reaction. If we could gather everything after a body is burned, the ashes, heat, smoke and tiny bone fragments, etc, it would all together have the same mass as the person did. Nothing is impossible for God.

1 Corinthians 15:44, It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
Romans 6:5, For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection
1 Corinthians 15:49, And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
Romans 6:6, Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed..
1Thessalonians 5:23, And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Philippians 3:14, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
1 Corinthians 15:46,54, Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
1 Corinthians 15:20,23, But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

I experienced the "oh you're American!" then they switch their attitude. Apartheid values are even in the home... That was the biggest shocker to me.

I chose cremation. No one comes to visit me while I’m alive. There sure as heck, aren’t coming to see me while I’m dead. Besides as soon as my earthly life is over, my soul is immediately gone, the body is just a shell at that point.

Very interesting topic and good information to ponder. It seems like a foolish thing to be concerned about but it does bother some people. It is not an easy decision to make for some reason.

I worked for both of the largest reputable funeral corps in the country. Both my younger brothers died at the time I was leading my professional life. Aside from C-19 times, there are many ways to do burials now. I will not include C-19 in that comment. I've not been in family services in many years. I will look into that website, although what I have decided on is private, let us keep yearning and learning and sharing the word of Jesus's plan of salvation for those who earnestly A.S.K. Amen!

I appreciate this short and to-the-point presentation over cremation. Your reference to Mt.27:52-53 regarding the resurrection of some saints is curious.
I am wondering if you could do a presentation in more detail over the same. I am currently of the understanding that those saints which rose after their graves were opened, went into the holy city (Jerusalem of that day), and appeared to many.
Not unlike the account of Lazarus of John 11 &12,..many did see him, and while we are not told when, he too died another death.
Can we not think the same happened to those saints?

Is being buried in a grave in the ground the same as being
put in a tomb. When the Pastor mentions buried I am
confused. The stone was rolled away from the tomb that Jesus was laid. I guess
    the terms are confusing. Is
being put in a mausoleum the
    same as being buried?

Our whole family has chosen cremation easier to move when moving and the urns will be buried in a plot too. Only one person chosen to be scattered in a lake and half of the ashes to be buried with the parents. I prefer it over body decomposition.

Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. The Powers that be are pushing financial cost of burial so high, almost like they wish to force Christians into cremation.

Help me to understand how the resurrection works without a soul? How can someone resurrect if they do not have a soul? Example, someone's body has been disintegrated in acid and is no more. How will that person resurrect if they do not have a soul to be put into a new body? The whole notion of resurrection requires some form of self-retention after death that will be put in a new body and be judged at the resurrection. Or else millions of completely destroyed, scattered, non-existent bones of humans won't be able to resurrect for judgement. So please, explain that?
Secondly, in the book "dictionary of early Christian beliefs" by David W. Bercot, it has all the ante-Nicene church leaders' sayings on all sorts of topics compiled into one dictionary. In there, I have not seen any early Christian deny that souls exist, they all agree they are not immortal and can be killed again but they all agree that the soul is a spiritual substance of a person that waits for the resurrection via Hades (a very Greek ideology).

I was upset to find out different things that are done to a body after death. If I could be placed in a hole, no fuss, no chemicals, like the Bible, I’d be happy. But we can’t do that. So many laws.
I think the best I can find is to be cremated and then have my ashes buried in a special place. I will have a grave and a burial place.
YHVH can resurrect me should He choose. It doesn’t matter the condition of my body.

We also should consider those who have died as a a result of volcanic eruptions, those who were burned during war, the napalm, the atom bombs in Japan, the burning of buildings in fire accidents, they had no choice of their death. Those who are alive have a choice. There is no Bible command or direction that says cremation is wrong. If there was there would be no debate or discussion. People who were buried in the past will have had their bones destroyed by fire through (as mentioned above) volcanic eruption, earthquakes.
