Pretty sure the A330 is by iniBuilds, as the EFB is the iniBuilds design. It makes sense, given that they already developed the new default A320 and so they've got a lot of the systems code already done.
There is this airport in Australia, where wasps will start nesting into Pitot tubes as soon as 20 minutes after landing. That's why they need to be covered there as soon as the plane lands. With accidents happening in the past with them being left on.
I think A320 Sim Pilot already made that point in the video, that covers would only be necessary if the environment mandated it. Good point though, well made! 👌
The airport is Brisbane international (YBBN). There have been incidents where the cover was not removed and pilots had to return to the airport without Airspeed 😮
Great video, I share your concern about the replay, that's something I hope they can fix. Will be at Vegas on Tuesday and I'll be sure to put that to them when I meet Seb and the team!
You spotted loads of things I missed (of course) it’s very interesting , this could be a fantastic sim ! I share your views on ballooning- but what a unique opportunity to experience them in the sim. I didn’t hear the FO today - she may be reserving her judgement until we see what sort of mega specs will be required…
Thanks for watching 4prawns! The FO was involved but caused such a scene the recording had to be stopped whilst she was given some treats to amuse herself!
The ground will be detailed like shown in the trailer everywhere. Even in remote and neglected places. It will probably just be more accurate where they have good satellite data. They showed how they achieve this in last years FSExpo and will show more at this years next week. Every plane gets wear & tear, a tablet, gets dirty and they will improve electric, pneumatic, hydrolic and fuel systems for everything. The A330 is by INI, the Twin Otter will probably be Aerosofts as they removed it from the stores right around the time the first trailer dropped. The other shown aircraft devs have been revealed recently so the general detail of default planes will be even greater than before. I hope things like a decent replay tool (i personally don't need that) will make it into the game when it launches or at least in one of the upcomming updates. It's also not clear when the clips have been recorded (which build) so things shown can already be outdated/fixed.
Looks brilliant! I spent so much on fs2020 and very curious about the support for peripherals and add ons. Sans upgrading my computer will we have to buy all that stuff all over again? Wonderful review thank you!
Asobo have said that most existing add on aircraft will not need to be repurchased and should work. The question will of course be, which ones won’t work! Fingers crossed not many. Thanks for watching!
Faster CPU's are more important than a 2000$ GPU's. 4090's are wasted on flightsim and other games even if they perform better at 4k but the CPU needs to push it. CPU will always be the bottleneck in games or sims like MSFS or even X-Plane and P3D.
If they get multi-threading, multi-core working well, you might be fine. One core could be handling traffic, while others handle the flight model. This is not the case in fs2020!
Looking forward to v2024. The things I remember most fondly with earlier FS releases (FSX & Co) were the missions. I'm glad the next release will focus on this side. It's important to realise that 'interesting things to do', as well as encouraging more folks to purchase, will also aid hugely in encouraging folk to learn their aircraft. That's a win : win. Additionally, the 'serious' flying side of Flight Simulator will always be available for those who want to focus on that.
I hope it has a good replay function. Also, I hope that the A330 is done to a decent standard. This is likely because it’s Inibuilds. Also, I hope they include the A330-200 with the rolls Royce engines
@@rosscorr lol FS2002 had replay function. What is wrong with Asobo. How they figure out satellite immagery directly injected into the sim but not simple replay tool.
I don't subscribe to this 100%. What if I said that iniBuilds developed all the EFB's for the aircrafts to keep them consistent. That throws your theory out of the window. We know Aerosoft have developed an A330, nobody has heard of iniBuilds developing an A330, although to be fair, it wouldn't at all surprise me given how close they are to the Airbus brand.
I haven’t theorised anything, just pointing out that others on the web are speculating (or theorising as you will) that the A330 is from inibuilds. I have not formed an opinion as I don’t really care as long as it is usable for my needs.
This was raised in the video. A320 Sim Pilot indicated a lot of the controls were out of position, the throttle was also in idle. The reason for this was it was probably because the video was captured from the replay which has these sorts of issues hence the concern being raised about having a replay system which worked.
Missions are where it's at. With their use of AI there's no reason we couldn't have full careers. Imagine being able to start with flight school, get your small plane, move up to twins, get a job in a regional airline, etc... That would be delightful.
They are aiming for 5-10x performance improvements over 2020, so coupled with some good graphical upgrades your laptop should be fine to get 80% of the way there I imagine
Every breakdown video misses a crucial part of the video. When the pilot is walking to the A330 listen to the background ATC chatter. Sounds more fluid and real. Maybe using AI.
My concern is that all these careers they are showing are going to be single missions that have the exact same pre programmed experience like the current activities and that they won’t be full dynamic careers!
i hope these missions are not 1 offs, like how it's structured now. It should be random events where it makes sense on the global map, ideally it would be (but i doubt) the ability to have a career and you progress through the ranks such as firefighting, transport. I fear it will be a list of 20 missions, here do this mission at this 1 location, and no variability within them, but at least it will give something the modders to take advanatge of something along the lines of the excellent and free NeoFly, which allows you to progress through a career of distinct missions, and even built up a fleet with NPC's as pilots who do the mission for you
It’s MSFS 2020: The Missions DLC. All these eye candy pre scripted activities are amazing but it’s sadly gonna overshadow the much needed improvements to the core sim elements. Straight up gamification happening. Which means the sim side will be a low priority and most likely neglected. Idk why this trailer is getting so much praise for as being the next true MSFS.
Looks awesome, but I’m a little carefull to just accept it as “in-game footage”, even though the trailer claims it. In one of their Nordics updates, they showed some Oslo footage, including my office building in the background, which looked spot-on. However, in reality they just put in some detailed landmarks (opera etc), while the other buildings still looked like trash in the game.
Don't believe the hype. It will be buggy, won't look anything like this for 90% of customers and the majority of add-ons including aircraft from 2020 won't work properly. ^Haden
Wow, a real-world airline pilot and flight sim fanatic has zero comment about the low-level fake cumulus clouds acting like nimbostratus with cloud-to-cloud lightning. NO WONDER WHY MSFS WEATHER IS NO GOOD. Professional pilots should be on the front lines about MSFS weather, BUT NO, a replay feature is paramount, and screenshots rule the agenda. Yea go ahead and storm the ASOBO gates about replay features so you all can post your content, while the sim will wait another 30 years for at least somewhat realistic weather and ATC. Total treason of aviation realism in my view. Vanity has totally taken over flight simulation. 🤢🤮
Maybe about 18'27" mark a lightning bolt shows up. I had hoped you would talk about that flash of a storm. MSFS is lousy at storms, maybe its improved?
Will the wipers work? that is the ultimate question!

Yes the lack of an easy to use Replay function in MSFS 2020 is such a glaring omission. xPlane can do it with a nice simple interface, why can't MSFS?
There is a very comprehensive replay function with 2024 - goes well beyond just replay functionality.

it would be nice if external cameras were able to be utilized on planes like the A380X and 777/787 in 2024.

Despite my optimism of the release schedule I think that would still be pretty brave!

I hope the underlying flight simulation is up to the same standard as all the other features look.
Me too!
What happens to the people who purchased MSFS2020, will they have to reload it all and purchase again.
The sim needs to be purchased separately or via Gamepass, your bought planes, sceneries, airports etc. should all transfer for free
Would be nice if those missions were random locations, even set by you, and those people and vehicles, scenery, etc. showed up there.

MSFS 2024 IMO needs better flight physics and weather depiction. Also better replay and a flyby mode.
Always wished that flight physics was top priority. I guess it is really hard to land a plane and msfs makes it extremely easy.
