- Its been a mad rush to get this thing ready but we finally got it done! Parts availability was a big problem this time around. I didnt want to make front wheels from scratch but it was my only option to be ready on time. To West Virginia we go!
The tires at the end are so much better for that kind of terrain. Nice looking buggy.
should weld tabs on the frame so the skid plate could be bolted on.
Good stuff man!!!
That was pretty impressive building the wheels
Love how your a hack sometimes. It's real world brother
Way late here but idle jet is easy to clog. I run a large idle jet and make sure choke adjustment is turned down on my 34. Idle cut off has to be powered, seemed OK.
Loving this series! Can’t wait for next installment. I have a similar project I’m tackling currently
Nice old strip mine, Where is that??? Awesome overlook at 1st stop !!! I live in SW tip of Indiana, we have some old strip mines here. In the past the game warden would not go on old mine property. Now all have fences, gates, and purple trees. Most are happy hunting grounds for the rich. We have one close that is run by the state called interlake with all the death high-walls knocked down.
Im from south eastern PA, there was a lot of mining here. The mining has really tapered off so there are miles and miles of strip mines that we ride in. Like most things, they are always cracking down and closing spots off making it harder to find good riding spots. They are also starting to re-claim a lot of these tailings and something is going on with the EPA. Either way, it makes some great riding terrain. I didnt know there was coal seams in Indiana but it makes sense with it being in ohio, kentucky as well. Thanks for watching!
@@spankranchgarage The strip pits here are really old, they left the land ripped up and just seeded from the air, maybe in the 50s or 60s. We have current strip and undergrounds mines here. Here is what ours look like from my near stock woodsbuggy. Thanks for the interesting info and your time. ruclips.net/video/TNJSqY7vMxk/видео.html
Definitely need more videos of this rail 👍🏻
I’d love to be able to rebuild one of these with a 5.3LS.
How did I just find your videos, lol. You treat that buggy like I do mine. Fucking send it. If it’s gonna break, it’s gonna break. Love tha videos
Hahahaha
Shades of half-life 2. Half expected a combine gunship to appear.
You put so much love into this buggy. Great video and your new camera is really changing the game 👍🏻
Awesome buggy! Looks like you need an enclosure for that switch cluster. If only you knew someone with a 3D printer.... :D
I'd like to see that. Hide the wires to make it look...OE?
I’ve been searching for a good 3D print channel to colab with 🧐
Love the buggy, I personally would do 33s on all 4 corners, love that look
Do you know if 33s will clear the rear torsion bars
Seems to me it would have been much easier to just pick up a different set of VW wheels. Those things are evry where. But, good job on the custom wheels
I thought they were everywhere too.... until I needed them.
Drivers front tire blowout 10:49
Didn't even look like you tried to avoid
That trigger off the side of the road
Sure didnt try to avoid. Party on
It's been like 5 years and I still haven't been able to ride my dune buggy...smh. hahaha...Your dune looks similar to mine. It even has a dent on the same size on a similar gas tank
Fellow FRO rider I see. I’m picking up a green sandrail today maybe I’ll see you up in the coal country!
Hell yeah! Buggies are still alive and well around here. Maybe ill see you in the spring
I have found that type of muffler will kill the top end,and keep building heat in engines. Too restrictive
Interesting. I will test that on the dyno and make a video about it. Thanks for the comment
Sweet!
Please take video of the ride!! Did you fix that terrible rattle?
Ничего оригинального нет
What kind of mount setup do you use for the video? What it is, it keeps it pretty smooth and looks cool as you're rippin up the trail.
Its actually just a simple stick on gopro mount. All the smoothing is through the Hero 7 and editing software. It works really well
Cool video. Let us know how your trip goes….
Yo this thing is sick
I'm curious what you ended up having to do on the trail to get it running again AND, in general, what you believe the problem was? You said you swapped out a gasket, was this to prevent stuff from ending up in the bowl and was that debris the issue?
I found various problems with this. The distributer cap was slightly dislodged. The coil had a questionable connection. The carb was always getting debris in it despite having 2 fuel filters up stream. I had to make a bowl gasket from scratch because the old one was torn up and I couldnt get a replacement in time.
badass buggy let's rip I added a video of our buggies
I read an article that keeping your commentary about -10 dB is good. Seems to work for me.
Im trying some new things to balance it out. Check the next episode it should be better
Do you know the manufacturer and model number of your shocks (early version)
I dont sorry!
Wow! You're so good at doing stuff! Where did you learn all these skills? I mean I take stuff apart and put stuff together but you know exactly what you're doing! I want a buggy like yours. Those wheels are badass!
You should see my rims mine have a bunch of folds
Put tube in all of your tires
Alt excitement light can’t be a LED
Good point!
IS THE FUEL TANK VENTED?
Yes it is a vented cap
Put a delordo carb on it
Many sand rails have no body panels.
Yeah… I think they look cool and help keep me a tiny bit cleaner
Tractor tires are the best don’t take them off
Gotta play with your audio bud. Buggy is loud as balls so turn it down cause the little one is sleeping. Then I can't hear you so I gotta turn it up. Haha
You should get a better camera. Entertaining series though!
