i went through the exact same last year and trust me, if you do have it then being diagnosed and and getting on the right meds will make you feel a lot better :3
You shouldn't be invalidating your own mental health. You're not overreacting, but please take a step back. Talk to friends, keep a track of yourself and read more. If you still think you have it then yah...
I have BP2 and my mania feels great. I feel confident, silly, energetic, wanting to go out and do stuff etc. This might last 3-2 days before I sink into a manic/depressive episode. I already have severe depression, and my depressive episodes make it a hell lot more worse. They last several more days until I'm back to normal- and then the cycle continues. And as an artist pursuing art as a career, it's terrible for worth ethic. It sucks but I always manage to push through. Those are my expierences with BP2, have a lovely day :)
Your experience resonates so much with mine’s. I’m in the academic field and when in a hyphomanic episode I tend to embark in too many projects. Then depression hits and I can barely get myself out of bed. It is really debilitating but meds such as mood stabilizers have helped me so much. Also, I now learned to stop saying yes to everything. I ask for some time to reconsider and I talk with my therapist or my loved ones. In that way I can get a second opinion not influenced by hyphomania. I’m sending hugs your way and know we are not alone 💙🧡
That's why I was scared to take meds.. and also if you have a period, that throws things off even worse. My period makes the depression so so much worse, but when I finally get the 'manic highs again I can function again..
@@tessm388 meds were the best thing that ever happened to me. Can I function without them? No. But am I *myself* with them? Yes. Sure it's scary that I would be a completely different person without them, but that only encourages me to take them responsibly.
Your mom is neglecting you, most parents should at least go to the doctor once to see what they say about it, hope you get better, and I hope you get the help you need.
thank you for making this video, my father was diagnosed with Bipolar Depression type 1 when i was younger and more recently i was diagnosed myself with Bipolar Depression type 2, this really helped me understand why i seem to be different from my dad but also very similar in ways, it just shows up differently in me but we’re both struggling. This really helped me understand *why* it shows up differently in me instead of worrying i was exaggerating or misdiagnosed by mistake.
oh my gosh thank you so much, and i am i hope you’re doing well too 🤍 it’s comforting to know someone else relates and that we’re not alone in this. I wish you the best, friend. :)

my mom is bp1 and i’m bp2. the little cartoon of the two hugging at the end made me so happy. we experience our episodes VERY differently and it can be hard to understand what the other is going through.
I personally am Bipolar. I have been professionally diagnosed, I have BP1 in particular, my episodes last at the most 6 days. This was a very accurate explanation for the people who are not Bipolar. Thank you for educating the public!
@@sezajay3790 my mother is bipolar. She had been watching me closely for a while. She did this to all of my siblings. After realizing I would be going through an episode which were about 4 days at the time. She would catch on to these episodes and would realize them. She had finally taken me to a doctor when I was 15. They had done some tests, and they had diagnosed me a few days later.
I received my diagnosis late in 2024. I was brought to tears during this video because today is the first day it’s truly set in that IM NOT ALONE. Thank you for making this.

I’ve never been diagnosed for anything mentally aside from ADD as a kid, but definitely fall into the BP2 category and definitely see things from time to time. It’s slight, but something in the corner of your vision will move and it’s just enough that you stop what you’re doing and look. Like someone is trying to get your attention from like your 5 o’clock (position). I also hear things frequently, my wife compares it to how our dog will be laying in the floor and perk up because of a noise who knows how far away. I’ll stop what I’m doing and listen for a moment and ask others if they heard it. To be clear it’s never as exaggerated as shown in the video, I’ve never seen a full figure of a person/creature or heard voices.
I could remember few years back after my wife died, I was left alone with 3 kids. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Got diagnosed with bipolar. Not until a friend recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment changed my life for better. I can proudly say i'm totally clean for 6 years and still counting. Always look to nature for solution to tough problems, Shrooms are phenomenal
I'm so very happy for you, Psilocybin is absolutely amazing, the way it shows you things, the way it teaches you things. I can not believe our world and our people shows less interest about it's helpfulness to humanity. It's love. The mushrooms heals people by showing the truth, it would be so beneficial for so many people, especially politicians and the rich who have lost their way and every other persons out there.
Hey mates! Can you help with the source? I suffer severe anxiety, panic and depression and I usually take prescription medicine, but they don't always help. Where can I find those psilocybin mushrooms? I'm really interested in treating my mental health without Rxs. I live in Germany don't know much about these. I'm so glad they helped you. I can't wait to get them too. Really need a reliable source🙏🏻
YES very sure of benmycologys I have the same experience with anxiety, depression, BPD and addiction and Mushrooms definitely made a huge huge difference to why am clean today.
Mushrooms are very medicinal. This is why anybody familiar with psilocybin and any other kind of fungi will tell you, "They are alive." They have a very ancient wisdom. To my experience, all mushrooms have always said, "Pay attention to your life. How you think, how you feel, and what will you do with the information that you always knew, but now are seeing in this point of view." This is why mushrooms are so respected in tribal cultures. This mental health treatment works for me too. Half micro doses do the trick for me. At least a few days at a time with lengthy time in between. Never addictive. Thank you for sharing this point!
well technically... your major depression is cured now that you are bipolar instead (or at least that's what i told myself when i got diagnosed to stay optimistic lol)
I have not been diagnosed ever, I hope to one day but I might have BPD 2, OCD, or ADHD Edit: some people are misunderstanding what message I'm trying to put across, so first things first let me say YES I know mental illness is real and not fun, and NO I do not wish to have them. I don't hope for mental Illness, I hope to talk to somebody. I just want a diagnosis in general, so I know if I'm ok or not, so understand myself and mind. Because I don't feel valid as a person. I FEEL I have these disorders, I don't want them I FEEL I have them and it's important for me to know whether I do or not. That's all!
I have a friend who suffers from bipolar 1 he had the most terrible life ever. Everything in this video is accurate. Me and the rest of my friends are always there to support him and to let him know he's not alone and got his back and is glad to meet him 💙🧡
This makes me so comfortable. Growing up with my mom having Bipolar 2 with psychosis, I've had my fair share of hurtful words and experiences that I'm still trying to let go. On top of it, hurting for my mom because she goes through so much. Hearing people talk about this more is something I've always wanted and my heart goes out to anyone who deals with this themselves or sees someone they love go through it.
I understand I grew up with it and didn't realize that my mom had it She was finally diagnosed at sixty I basically have to Block my phone because she gets angry and rageful. Sadly, she thinks she doesn't have a problem. So she doesn't want to take her medicine I have a friend. She can't function unless she doesn't take her medicine every day she also has bipolar I suffered a lot because of my mom's rage
I've been diagnosed with bipolar type 2 since November 2017. It has been difficult for me to accept and understand my mental disorder because, as you said in the video, we struggle more on the depressive side and hypomania just seem like feeling good, really good. Then you get crisis or switch moods suddenly and oh boy! For a long, long time I've wondered if I'm really bipolar or my therapist made a mistake in my diagnosis but as time passes and I make amends with my symptoms I can see clarity in how they affect me and the way I perceive reality and interact with it. Thank you for the video as always. ✨
@@hannacemaragitana3662 oh, really? When I have crisis and they turn to the worse I start to see shadows all around me but it's very rare, usually I get nightmares.

@@no-fu1mx Yeah she specifically said that while BP2 tends to deal with extreme depressive episodes and BP1 tends to deal with manic episodes, neither is better or worse 5:05 :)
i have bp2 (diagnosed) and this is a perfect short explanation about it! Most ppl doesn't even know about bp2. when I start to fall into the depressive episode ppl ask me why am I sad, and I reply truly honest with "I don't know". Its like something is in control of your feelings and moods inside you.
Extreme motivation to take on new projects? For me, I get those sometimes and suddenly have a lot of inspiration. Then I realise I don’t have the skill to do so and I get demotivated all over again.
Yeah I feel that. Sometimes I get random bursts of "oh my gosh I can do this and this and this" but then I realize I'm a piece of garbage with no skills so whatever I did looks horrible lol
I really got a the short end of the stick here. When I was about 11 yrs old I was diagnosed with mild depression, which just got worse and worse over the years. At 19 I was diagnosed with mixed bipolar, which is both bipolar 1 and 2. I'm 22 now and I will say that going from 19 to 22 was not easy for me. I was on a bunch of different medications that didn't work for me. One medication actually caused me to start screaming in my sleep. I ended up stopped taking any medications because they didn't work and they made me feel worse and completely numb to everything. I couldn't feel emotions correctly. I was actually okay for awhile since I was finding things to keep grounded and but lately things have been getting bad and now I'm stuck between staying off the meds and find new things to keep me grounded or go back through the process of finding a medication that will work for me.
I'm not a doctor but I will say- because my niece has bipolar and she had to go through 4 medicine until she found the right one that worked for her- and she is now 31 and is doing a lot better- i check on her everyweek just to see how she's doing so I hope you have support- with family and friends- or therapist- just know that you are not a lone- there is so much help you can get- out there- I also have a son that is 22yrs old that has schizophrenia and he is going through it as well everything you mentioned above about how you feel about taking the medicine- it basically made you feel like a zombie- and feel like numb etc my son experienced that too with his meds- right now he is on a 3rd newest medication- so basically try to give it time- I hope your doing well today
I am 16 my Grandmother has bipolar depression, as well as My mom and her brother, of 4 kids. My uncle takes Seizure meds and his doctors make him take bipolar meds along with them. So he is the only one who is really “diagnosed” by a doctor. My mom and grandma show all symptoms but want no help. My grandma used to be a hard-core drunk until she stopped up until 7-8 years ago. I don’t remember everything, but I do remember a lot of stuff very vaguely. My mom has always been a drinker and it never got this bad until quarantine, because she started working at her computer and not having to go into work. She drank all day, everyday, and probably still drinks very frequently even though she’s back at work. We’ve never had a good holiday, for all of the years that I can remember. I’ve moved out of my moms house and my dad now has full custody. And I’ve grasped the whole situation but not until lately have I been thinking I might be bipolar as well. My dad tells me it’s because “I have anger issues” and we all do. And his wife tells me it’s because I’m a teenager. And that if I thought I was bipolar, wouldn’t it be pretty common that a lot of other teenage girls thought they had it to and want to be diagnosed ? Well yeah. But is it hereditary in their family ? Are they the product of their moms daughter. She said that since I am so self aware as well that I probably don’t have bipolar because most people who are bipolar don’t even want to acknowledge it. But the only reason I am so self aware is because I’ve been living with it, and observing it my entire life. Which sucks because I talk to my dad and his wife so much and they know everything. I think it’s a very high chance I have bipolar. Especially considering my grandmother had it and 2/4 of her kids got it too. I’d really like to talk to a therapist and see what they think. Because I flip out on my dad and he says it’s just my anger issues, but I feel like talking to a therapist would help. Its not just anger issues. all the medication seems scary though.
EDIT: I did not even realise I got this many likes until I checked my notification. Courage to you all, honestly and thank you. I recently lost my dad due to prostate cancer and liver disease this past Thursday so having the strength to get help right now is going to be extremely difficult. I'm still in shock and I'm really struggling but I want to say that even in my own suffering where there are times where I don't want to be here anymore, I still keep going without help but I know I need to keep going wherever I can get it. Please, anyone who reads this: No MATTER what you are going through, please take care of yourselves. Learn to love yourself. Whether you are dealing with a loss, a mental health struggle or anything that affects you, just do because you do deserve it. I'm proud of you even if you managed to just brush your teeth today. It's okay not to be okay. My bipolar episodes / cycles have become even more intense than I ever thought it would be after my dad died but I know he would want me to keep trying. It's not going to be easy. It never is at the beginning but it will ease as long as you are familiar and learn to accept your episodes and to not feel guilty for it. Hopefully you will all find what is right for you 😔💜 Years ago, it was suggested by a psychologist that it is highly likely that I suffer from Bipolar Disorder. However, I've never been properly diagnosed because I've always been scared to get checked. The reason for this is because people have always brushed off my mental health or looked at me like I'm crazy as if my mental health is fine but there is something wrong with me. People can be really judgemental sometimes. This video was a nice reminder by not being judgemental about the topic and pretty informative in such a calming sense. It was nice to see. Thank you.

People with bipolar disorder frequently display extreme, intense, and disturbing emotional states known as mood episodes. Extreme happiness or excitement (mania) and melancholy (depression) are typical symptoms of mood episodes. People with bipolar disorder can also have normal moods occasionally.👍

@@Hangedman11911 funny how you say “stop self diagnosing” that there is no proof of their diagnosis but when we click on your profile we can see that you commented bipolar disorder is fake.
Really great video! Just wanted to add something that wasn’t in it that could be helpful and hopeful in its own way, especially to young kids who just got their diagnosis. 🌸 I’ve had bipolar 1 since I was 16. You mention that only bipolar 2 has the hypomanic stage but that is also true for bipolar 1. You get hypomanic first before manic and possibly psychotic which means there’s a longer stretch of time where your therapist and loved ones can notice the signs very early on and give you treatment and extra medicine without the need for a hospital visit when you’ve gotten so sick that you refuse to accept any help. Bipolar 1 is the more severe type of the sickness yes but there are two silver linings. First, like you said you have a tendency to not have as much depressive episodes as bipolar 2. And second, with Bipolar 1 you do get really sick when you’re sick BUT the episodes are further apart than with bipolar 2. The episodes can take years, decades or even stop altogether with a healthy lifestyle and medication. I’ve had two psychosis and one manic episode from the age of 16-33. The medicines don’t dull or alter my personality and when I’m not sick I don’t feel the extreme highs and lows at all. So it’s not a life sentence. Bipolar is very treatable!
As someone with BP2, this was actually really accurate, and explained very well! I also like the gentle, easy to understand tone and language used through the video. Also super cute artwork :)
yea people were really surprised after my last suicide attempt they were like "but your so happy all the time you cannot have depression why did you do that" 🤣

i’ve been suspecting that i might be bipolar, but i’m not sure, but after this video of a very good explanation, i might have to go talk to my doctor about it.
Good job on the vid! But you forgot something. There’s a third type of bipolar disorder. It’s called Cyclothymic Disorder. Alternating between hypomania and depressive symptoms, it is diagnosed when this alternation lasts for two years or more in adults or one year or more in children. Just wanted to let you know.
My best friend was diagnosed with bipolar disorder this year, after his "first" manic episode (he had others when we were younger but he was then still acting normal). it was scary, because he went through psychosis and acted/said things really strange and wild. He then went to a psychiatric hospital because we contacted his parents, but now his life is changed forever and I don't know how to support him. I'm here for him and I hope that he can have a "normal" life after he gets a stabilized treatment but it still difficult seeing him in his now depressive state. Just wanted to share a part of this journey in this comment section and I hope everyone suffering from bipolar disorder will get to live a happy life despite the obstacles ♥
Thanks for making this, earlier this year I was diagnosed with BP 1 however I never experienced depressive episodes... was hard to go through and accept but eventually got to that point ❤️ (With the proper medication and doctors ect. and of course a support system)

Females with combination type ADHD often get misdiagnosed with bipolar 2. I was misdiagnosed because I'm emotional. Women with ADHD tend to be more emotional in terms of Hyperactive. Men with ADHD are more hyperactive like stereotypical face of ADHD. The main thing about ADD & ADHD is trouble focusing, staying focused, forgetting and being overwhelmed by tasks that are not explained in detail and/or not broken down in smaller parts. Bipolar is more everything gets to you. My mom has bipolar type 2 and doesn't forget about things. She has hard time calming down when she is upset at people. She can work with only 4 hours asleep. Her episodes only last hours to a day. So make sure you have good doctor if you're a female. I don't have bipolar 2. I struggle to get through the day if I have less than 7 hours of sleep. I forget if things are not repeated and/or written down for me. Make sure your doctor knows the difference between Female ADHD and bipolar disorders
additionally, a woman could have both at the same time. 60 to 70% of people with bipolar also have ADHD, and 20% of people with ADHD will develop bipolar. I have ADHD combined type as well as bipolar II, and being treated for ADHD was not enough to manage my bipolar symptoms. if you improve with treatment for either of these but you still experience pertinent symptoms, get tested for the other one (if you can)
This was spot on. I wasn’t medicated for ADHD or even considered that I might have it up until this year… yet I suffered symptoms since high school. Typically, adhd is associated with hyperactive/fidgety behaviour-but it really shows up differently per individual. My symptoms were trouble concentrating (especially if I hear sounds/music in the background), easily losing track of what I say mid conversation ( I start to think of too many thoughts at once so I have to make the conscious effort to stay on-topic), forgetfulness unless I write it down/set an alarm for it, easily discouraged/sad about a task that seems overwhelming to the point where I have to break it down into small steps in order to ease into it
I’m 24 and I’ve watched a lot of your videos and it’s honestly made me realize that maybe I’m not as crazy as my whole family has always made me feel like I am
It's really hard to dealt with it. When mania you involved in lot of things, then suddenly one day all you want is not to wake up and just dead. But you already involved in lot of things. Then you can't do your best at it, when everything get to normal you realised how bad you messed up your life

I have bipolar disorder & I’m really grateful for this video because I sometimes struggle to come to terms with it myself. A lot of people believe bipolar disorder means being angry all the time to being happy && that’s simply not the case. This video is definitely educational && helpful!
Thing is, if I tell someone that I feel as though I may be BP2, they’ll just say I’m “overreacting” or that “it’ll be fine”. I don’t know, maybe I’m just a generally sad person at times yet I seem to get weird bursts of random energy.
I was misdiagnosed with bipolar type 2 due to my severe depression. Found out three years later, I am not bipolar. Watched this to get a better understanding of the illness. I was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and this video made sense. My therapist told me about the manic episodes and ive never experienced one. Just severe depression, bpd, anxiety and of course due to childhood trauma ptsd. This was great, totally subscribing!
I think what is important to distinguish when looking at these videos is that some mental illnesses go hand in hand, or even just share similarities. I personally struggle with depression, anxiety, paranoia and is considered a HSP (If I remember the acronym correctly). How these work within me and my mental health can make it feel like I go through what BP2 is defined as. However, that is the importance of going to a doctor or a professional to actually single out or distinguish what you as an individual is going through and then in turn get the appropriate tools to combat what it is that you are struggling with. I see quite a few comments here and there saying they are afraid of the doctor disregarding what they are struggling with, and believe me, I've been told the same thing several times as well. I don't know how different health care systems works around the world, but if you have the opportunity to change your doctor/mental health professional, do it. Once I found my current doctor, I finally felt I could speak about what I was going through, and they would listen. I still have a lot of distrust to my country's health care system, but there seems to be a light at the end of the tunnel, and hopefully you'll find it too.
I have always known I have problems with depression and I was diagnosed with a recurring depressive disorder. But lately, I have found out about Bipolar II and am actually quite shocked how much that fits my experiences now that I'm in my mid-20s. Crazy.
As someone with Type 1 but with severe depressive episodes, I can say that its truly hell. Im mostly depressed with manic episodes and psychosis mixed in with it.. Been diagnosed for 6 years now. My meds are great but it was extremely hard to find something that worked for me
I have bipolar 2 and my longest depression run was 6 months. I find myself praying for hypomania because it feels great but then I just get on everyones nerves and nobody wants to be around me.
i just got diagnosed with bipolar 2 about two months ago now and i honestly never knew what the difference was other than “the symptoms are milder” and so its felt quite invalidating in a way? But this video made me feel so much better thank you very much for making this video❤️
Another note: Bipolar 2 can "become" Bipolar 1, but once you're Bipolar 1 there's no going back. Personal experience: I was able to manage Bipolar without medication for over a decade. Then my symptoms were getting progressively worse. When I realized I was a walking ball of irritation (mania can also present as anger and irritated moods, something my doctor informed me of recently), I sought help and made decision to be put on mood stabilizers. Best decision ever for me. Yes, it means monthly check ins and periodic blood work to make sure my levels are still safe, but that's a small price to pay to be a better person for those I love.
There are also other kinds of BD that are not recognized by all psichiatry schools. Mine (and i guess yours too by what you shared) are of that kind. somewhat dormant BD that can get very aggresive in short periods of time (months in my case). I was also diagnosed pretty late with BD because of that. I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety at 16, going in and out of therapy through the years. Was just properly diagnosed with BD last year (at 33 yo), and just because my brother had a psychotic breakdown from BD1.

I’m considered the crazy one in my whole family 🤷🏽♀️ the one everyone needs to stay away from😒😔 . I’ve been trying to change but it’s really hard to snap out of the manic episodes without medication. And majority of the time I don’t remember what I did after I did something bad . 29 years old now and I’m still fighting this

I was diagnosed with BD2 but wasn’t able to follow through with therapy, this was a diagnosis from my university’s therapist. I’ve been trying to understand more since I didn’t have the chance to actually discuss with her my condition in depth. I don’t get therapy bc i’m under my parents insurance and they are 1000% against any of the sort. It’s terrifying
This helped me alot because I am a person with bipolar but I am then considered as Bipolar disorder 2 and not 1. Dealing with bipolar is alot of work though.I so have my depressed days but they dont come often. I do have the "trying everything knew" part though. Thank you so much for helping me understand what bipolar disorder I have
I'm 23 and was only recently diagnosed with Bipolar I disorder. I experience psychosis when I get manic. Seeing myself in this cute little character is a nice change from the monster this used to make me feel like when I was unmedicated, unaware of my condition, and abusing drugs that worsened it. I'm in a much better place now, but I'm still haunted by some of the things I've done during manic episodes, and knowing that people can understand that I don't enjoy or want my manic episodes when I'm not actively psychotic makes me feel better.
This comment probably won't get seen lol but y'all should do a video on DMDD (Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder) 👉👈 okay I'ma just leave there here now byE

Bruh fr, my parents will kick me out if my mental health is just normal[but tbh i think i do really have a mental illness:(]
Same same same
That's why I was scared to take meds.. and also if you have a period, that throws things off even worse. My period makes the depression so so much worse, but when I finally get the 'manic highs again I can function again..
You just described my life, a little comforting to know I’m not the only one but shit still sucks… currently having a depressive episode
@@tessm388 meds were the best thing that ever happened to me. Can I function without them? No. But am I *myself* with them? Yes. Sure it's scary that I would be a completely different person without them, but that only encourages me to take them responsibly.

I am.in the same boat. I'm 33. Tired of trying meds.
I got diagnosed with depression and anxiety when I was 9
I'm not a doctor but I will say- because my niece has bipolar and she had to go through 4 medicine until she found the right one that worked for her- and she is now 31 and is doing a lot better- i check on her everyweek just to see how she's doing so I hope you have support- with family and friends- or therapist- just know that you are not a lone- there is so much help you can get- out there- I also have a son that is 22yrs old that has schizophrenia and he is going through it as well everything you mentioned above about how you feel about taking the medicine- it basically made you feel like a zombie- and feel like numb etc my son experienced that too with his meds- right now he is on a 3rd newest medication- so basically try to give it time- I hope your doing well today
trial and error, how are you ever going to find the right meds if you dont keep trying? youll get there eventually
Hopefully you will all find what is right for you 😔💜
Years ago, it was suggested by a psychologist that it is highly likely that I suffer from Bipolar Disorder. However, I've never been properly diagnosed because I've always been scared to get checked. Really great video! Just wanted to add something that wasn’t in it that could be helpful and hopeful in its own way, especially to young kids who just got their diagnosis. 🌸
I’ve had bipolar 1 since I was 16.
Can you have BP2 if you aren't overly confident when manic? I'll go from loathing myself to being fine with myself, but i never have actual confidence

My mom has Bipolar Disorder. I watched this video to know more about her illness. Thanks for making such a video though! I think i am able to understand her situation better now!
i’ve been suspecting that i might be bipolar, but i’m not sure, but after this video of a very good explanation, i might have to go talk to my doctor about it.
I feel great knowing this actually exists ill make sure to tell a doctor soon, i think i have Bipolar 2

I'm pretty sure I have BP1......
I’m diagnosed with bp1 and mine were equally terrible. I’m happy that I’m medicated and getting help now :)
Just diagnosed with bipolar 1. Starting a mood stabilizer and thearpy has helped so much
thank you for sharing , I am on meds waiting for treatment
Thanks for making this, earlier this year I was diagnosed with BP 1 however I never experienced depressive episodes... was hard to go through and accept but eventually got to that point ❤️ (With the proper medication and doctors ect. and of course a support system)
She’s like a mom that takes care of her kids I love her.
GOD THATS A SAD SENTENCE, TRUE BUT SAD
This is my first time watching you and I would just like to say it won’t be my last! Not to mention your voice is so soothing
I was just diagnosed with BP 2. It was and still is a struggle. But I'm intrigued in learning more about BP.

I've been diagnosed with Bipolar 2 since I was 14, and my jaw DROPPED when I realized nobody told me "hypomania" is a thing. I'm gonna be 20 this year! Ignorance in the medical world surrounding Bipolar has caused me to go through psychiatrists like candy. Thank you so much, I feel like I'm about to cry because it feels like a key aspect of my bipolar was just revealed to me after many years of trying desperately to figure things out.
no disrespect but its also your responsibility to educate yourself lol
Bro it’s bonkers how much information doctors just ….don’t know
this reminds me of my aunt who has Bipolar disorder, my whole mother's side isolates her and talks about her behind her back, it's kinda sad, I've never met her though, but from what I've heard she might have bp 1. but yeah, I kinda wanna meet her one day.....
Her voice is so soothing.
Then you can't do your best at it, when everything get to normal you realised how bad you messed up your life
I saw so many people making fun of this and it’s not okay
@MillerTime 86 not in the comments in other places not just RUclips

Thank god someone actually explaining the differences. I have type 1 and had no clue what type 2 did.
I told my mother i need to see a therapist, she thinks its a joke and doesnt take me seriously...so i'm just gonna die silently
You can bring it up to your general practitioner

A therapist doesn't really help if you hide your emotions well I was forced by the court to see a therapist because of family issues I hid my feelings and he said nothing is wrong with me 🙂 keep. In my from 2nd to 4th grade I experienced trauma then again in 6th grade
@@ahh3168 I understand, but my teacher says that therapists can't solve all your problems they're just there to listen to you and give advice. I would never get a therapist I would hide my feelings as well.

I have bipolar disorder & I’m really grateful for this video because I sometimes struggle to come to terms with it myself. A lot of people believe bipolar disorder means being angry all the time to being happy && that’s simply not the case. This video is definitely educational && helpful!
As someone recently diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder at 24, thank you for these videos.
Thing is, if I tell someone that I feel as though I may be BP2, they’ll just say I’m “overreacting” or that “it’ll be fine”. I don’t know, maybe I’m just a generally sad person at times yet I seem to get weird bursts of random energy.
This voice was so soothing 🙂
I was misdiagnosed with bipolar type 2 due to my severe depression. Found out three years later, I am not bipolar. Watched this to get a better understanding of the illness. I was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and this video made sense. My therapist told me about the manic episodes and ive never experienced one. Just severe depression, bpd, anxiety and of course due to childhood trauma ptsd. This was great, totally subscribing!
Nobody:

This comment hits different :)))
My meds are great but it was extremely hard to find something that worked for me
I am bipolar 1 and it’s well explained, good job !
I have bipolar 2 and my longest depression run was 6 months. I find myself praying for hypomania because it feels great but then I just get on everyones nerves and nobody wants to be around me.
I was just diagnosed as Bipolar II, and this is one of the resources that made me think I needed to reach out and get help. Thank you.
i love this video, im diagnosed with bipolar disorder but it felt wrong until you started talking about the second type
i just got diagnosed with bipolar 2 about two months ago now and i honestly never knew what the difference was other than “the symptoms are milder” and so its felt quite invalidating in a way? But this video made me feel so much better thank you very much for making this video❤️
BP 2 actually has a higher suicide rate.
I feel like I stay in a anxiety/irritable/angry state for about 2-3 days then I dip into depression then back to being irritable/anxiety/anger then I’m super energetic and giggly and motivated then it starts all over again. It’s exhausting.
@@christophbornhardt7888 I also had depression in my teens, I was on Zoloft for a bit. Then I felt fine until about 2 years ago. Now at the age of 37 it’s almost unmanageable mood swings; I don’t feel like myself anymore, it’s maddening. Therapist suspects Bi-polar 2 not diagnosed yet, that’s coming in may this year.
this helped me a lot . I have been trying to understand what exactly is wrong with me ,because ppl left comments abt me . now u made me understand that i started having these bipolar disorder 1 symptoms when i was young ...
A friend of mine have a cousin with bpd and she’d call her to ask if there was aliens outside or if everyone was trying to kill her. My friend was the one person she trusted during a psychosis.
bpd isn't bipolar you mongo, it's borderline personality disorder
borderlines aren't the same as us
My mum and I both suffer from BPD, it’s not easy to have someone with BPD in the household, let alone two people. I want to say thank you for making these videos and spreading awareness and knowledge to those who may not have access to it normally.
ive recently experienced some traumas with SA and suicide. this video made me realize a lot. like sometimes ill have these episodes of self harm and right after ill do something impulsive like buy things or leave the house at midnight and return 4 hrs later. i actually recently experienced one of those episodes about an hour ago, now im awake in bed watching this lol. those manic episodes present so differently without really any warning. its truly scary. i thank you for making this video available because now i can talk to my therapist about what im experiencing and what it may be.
yesterday i found out that i might have bpd by my doctor. i’m going to go to a psychiatrist and a counselor and it will hopefully help me.
i don’t know much about bpd since i don’t research into things i don’t think i have, but now knowing about bpd almost all of these symptoms apply to me.
hopefully ill find out what i have, thank you for this video! ❤
i have bpd 2 with semi-frequent spouts of mania and this video is a great explanation of both disorders :)
Thank u . Because my psychiatrist never told me how serious my bipolar is . I’ve been dealing with this since I was 9 years old . I’m considered the crazy one in my whole family 🤷🏽♀️ the one everyone needs to stay away from😒😔 . I’ve been trying to change but it’s really hard to snap out of the manic episodes without medication. And majority of the time I don’t remember what I did after I did something bad . 29 years old now and I’m still fighting this
You're an incredibly strong woman for going through this! "If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”
~ Martin Luther King Jr. I pray that the Lord gives you strength to get through the difficult times.
Ur so strong
Meditate and exercise regularly to help mood swings! Learn yourself as well so you can know when you’re going through it!!!! Good luck sis 💙
Is there any other resources you can use? Like, a school counselor or finding other people with the same illness to make a support group about it?
I often think that people “ hate me “ bc I always overthink. Even if they are just quiet , I can’t stop hating myself.
it’s crazy how much i relate to this.
