  • Timex Q again! The hype is real, the love is real, the quality is not real this time. As we can see preview in the video, Timex changed a bit the politics of quality for this Q Timex 3 Time Zone Chronograph TW2V69800VQ.
    Hope you enjoy the video,
    Andrei

    I've had this watch for a few weeks now and it has next to none of the issues stated in your video. I'm very impressed with it for the price. My only gripe is the friction bezel is too easily knocked out of alignment. It's a fantastic travel watch for the price. Sorry you got sent a dud.

    I got mine a couple weeks ago and can't complain, it's been working perfectly and I love the design. When the non-GMT Q Timex Chronograph is back in stock I'll consider picking one up.
    Sucks that you got a lemon :/

    I expect to get a working well finished watch! Lower price doesn't excuse poor quality control. I'm not expecting a cheaper can of beans to give me food poisoning either, am I?

      cheaper watch = cheaper materials and finishing processes unfortunately everything costs money in this world including machining times if you want an artisan watch with perfect finishing get a grand Seiko if you want a reasonably priced watch with complex movements for travellers which looks smart and won't be stolen get this pretty simple

    Nice review- thanks for your honesty.
    I paid £91 for mine, and there were no mechanica/QC issues. Only negative is the lume is basically non-existent, and I'm comparing to a Timex Expedition North Field Solar that cost about the same. Similar lume performance to my moonswatch haha.

    Perhaps this one simply came out of a lesser Chinese factory than other similar Timex models? 🤔 If you compare the quality of a San Martin, Sugess, or Proxima, Timex really should be able to get it right consistently. I hope they up their game because the effort they put into great designs these days deserves better execution and delivery to match. I hope they do. 👍

    Timex should consider that these QC issues are turning people away from their products. My 10+ years old Casio Edifice cost me something like a hundred dollars, it has never had any issues. I've changed the battery three times or so, and I correct the date every two months. It hits all markers just perfectly, and I've never had any problems with it, it's just a great affordable quartz chronograph. And my Q Timex (the first reissue) has a misalignment of the minutes hand, so when the seconds are on the very top of the dial (at 12), the minutes hand is always in between the markers. Not the biggest deal, I still use the watch every now and then, but Casio can do this for the similar price, and apparently Timex can't. Which is why I'm more likely to get another Casio, but no more Timex for me in the nearest future, even though I like some of their designs and the history of the brand.

    • @theduckytaco7602
      @theduckytaco7602 Год назад

      For the minutes misalignment, you need to set the time while the second hand is at 12 o' clock, that should fix it.

    • @zibel5007
      @zibel5007 Год назад

      @@theduckytaco7602 unfortunately that doesn't work, when you push the crown the minutes hand jumps a little bit into the misaligned position.

    I feel that Timex is still around because they offer great value for the money and when they charge $250 for a watch, I would expect more from it than what was offered here. I can understand that the case may not be polished and the dial may not be the most extraordinary. However, I would expect that the second still hit the mark and that’s the hands and indices lineup. I would also hope that they would check the crown and make sure it’s not bent. I don’t believe that just because something cost $250 that we should give them slack on their lack of quality. You can spend $250 on an orient and gotten twice the finishing and twice the quality.

    Huh, while I am not a quartz sort of person normally this certainly hits enough marks where at some point I might consider it. Maybe I can force myself to be a quartz person after all. The only way they might have made this better is removing the chronograph wordering and replace it with the day then move the date window either next to that or underneath. At that point you have an average joe everyday useful watch that has the three most useful compications. GMT, chronograph and a daydate.

      I believe you still can find the automatic Kamasu (the 1st version) for this price. I know it's a diver, but a really solid one, and mine has no issues with the dial nor misalignments etc. Also you can get a perfect quartz Casio Edifice even for a lower price. Timex is just bad at QC. Unfortunately, because I'd love to enjoy their products as much as I enjoy my Casios or Orients.

  • @jojag5

    Hard for me to imagine a scenario where you need both a GMT and a chronograph in the same watch. Maybe a pilot? But then there should be a tachymeter bezel and 24h markers on the dial. This watch also can't do partial seconds like the Q Panda can.
    Just seems like the practicalities of this watch weren't well thought out. It's trying to do too much... 7 hands, a date window, and thick rotating bezel.

    I've had similar issues on far less expensive timex pieces, had a crown COME OUT on a field expedition once. However, on one at this price point is kind of disappointing. I bought several Timex pieces recently as there was a sale (timex q reissue pepsi, cheap beater expedition, and easy reader), no issues! Guess it's just nature of the game at this price
