      I appreciate the kind words about our dogs. That said, we have dogs priced as low as 1000 rather frequently; however, the cost of ownership for any dog dwarfs this initial purchase price of a dog (food, vet, training equipment, housing equipment, toys, etc). That said, getting a well bred dog reduces the vet expenses (less health problems); therefore, I recommend saving up before purchasing an animal in order to do your best of acquiring a well bred and healthy animal. It is no fun for the owner or animal to be plagued with genetic disease or behavioral problems.

    If y6ou can put Sentinel to Sentinel and produce what you have on that table on a regular/consistent basis, it would have to be real tempting to phase out the Pit program. Although to my eye your Pits might be the best looking pits I've seen. But to me that Sentinel is both a Pretty dog,and it looks capable and functional. Although I hope to never actually need the Protection services of your dogs, I think I would like to one day be in a position to have one of your Sentinels just because A- they appeal to me, and B- An insurance policy can be good to have just in case you ever do need it. And the dog could be both good insurance and a nice pet in one package. I think what I'm trying to say is,if your pet will actually Protect you if the need arises,that would be good.

    Very nice. The sentinel may be just what I’m looking for. So many garbage apbt being bred nowadays but I like the apbt drive and gameness.
    My dogs are strictly companions but having one that would protect the family from things like people breaking in and also from loose dogs that want to eat either my family or my dogs would be nice. I still like the apbt but they are getting poorly bred except for a small percentage that still breed good ones.

    What are your thoughts on a game bred apbt nipping at people out of excitement and frustration? It seems common and even accepted as normal behavior with high drive GSD and mals. Do any bloodline of high drive apbt these days have hard biting, intelligent dogs with no human biting/nipping issues?

    • @APBT-Bandog
      @APBT-Bandog  27 дней назад

      The Sorrells line is my recommended line of APBTs; however, be sure you deal with a professional breeder and that you request a dog with signs of good prey drive and intelligence.

    Lee why not take the top ones to a Canine Fertility Clinic and have them collected. The semen will be frozen for future generations.

    • @APBT-Bandog
      @APBT-Bandog  Год назад +3

      I believe a good breeder should not just strive to maintain great dogs, but should actually strive to improve every generation. If you can breed a dog multiple times in its life, and improve, why save the old? And if you cannot improve on it, maybe the dog is not a producer and isn't worth messing with.

    I might be reading between the lines a little but if you want to continue to further your line that always means keeping more pups/ prospects. Maybe invest in saving semen. That way they live forever. Once you got enough bless somebody else with a good dog. Yeah they will never be able to pay you enough money for the value that they will get but blessing someone will always end up blessing u. Maybe u got the Mike Tyson of sentinels in a litter but can’t keep it because you scared you might give something away. Let it go. God has more in store for u my brother. Make room, clean house. Sell some give some. You’ll be fine.

    • @APBT-Bandog
      @APBT-Bandog  27 дней назад

      maintaining a program like this is not cheap. Our investment is deep. Despite that, we do sell dogs for as low as 1000. If a person cannot afford that, then one has to ask can they afford any animal...because animals come with the costs of responsibility...including feed, meds, training equipment, housing equipment, vet supplies, and then some. Investing in healthy well bred animals may seem expensive, but it is nothing compared to the costs required to produce health tested and mentally tested working stock. Of course, if a person wants a "free dog" they can go the 500 or so adoption agencies charge, spend another chunk of change on doing the required spay/neuter that comes with that animal, and get a dog with unknown pedigree and unknown health problems. This is all part of the deciding process of finding the right dog for you, or getting a dog that you are stuck with that is not exactly what you hoped it to be. Reputable breeders are the only breeders I can recommend...and it is our goal to find clients that understand this.

      A few people have commented that our dogs are expensive, but at prices starting at 1000, I think those people really are not considering the costs of responsible ownership and responsible breeding...including feed, meds, training equipment, housing equipment, vet supplies, and then some. Investing in healthy well bred animals may seem expensive, but it is nothing compared to the costs required to produce health tested and mentally tested working stock.

    • @APBT-Bandog

      Who is your customer base and how much do you get per pup? Your american sentinels look like Cane Corse with dull hair that are lacking bone. There are gamebred AKC Am staff are basically same dogs as your but they are pretty and majestic! A chef can have the best testing food in the world but if it isn't garnished and presented in an appealing way most people will pass on it! People want a pretty dog that is impressive, heavy bone with exaggerated features! So as a companion breed most are going to pass on your dogs! How many boxes does your Sentinels check that other breeds such as the Am staff, Malinois, Rottweiler, Doberman, American Bully, Presa, Cane Corso, American bulldog or olde English bulldog can't check? I would say all look more impressive! All besides maybe Malinois are calmer as companion dogs. All are more intimidating as protection dogs your dogs are probably able to endure heat better than most mentioned, but all are going to get job done. I know than know you have a ton of time and money in trying to establish this breed but most likely the breed will not surpass your lifetime. Great you health test most people don't care if a dog last 8 years ar 12 years! You are a century behind the traits that a Cane Corso does naturally. The original Cane Corso from sicily was bred as a catch dog and protection dog that did his job without having to be trained. They had an extreme culling process that Americans wouldn't be able to stomach because there was not enough money to keep any more than a handfull of dogs on the farm. If the dog was not helping to keep the family from starving and making through that year they were dispatched. These dogs where catch dogs used to grab the pig and hold until owner was able to come dispatch pig with knife. They would also stand guard over the farmer property and protect his property, family, livestock (goat, cows or sheep) the entire knight. If a stranger stepped past dogs boundary it would then jump into action and only then. These dogs where so reserved that people could still walk past the farm without any consequence. Your dogs could never do that. The ampbt is a dying breed due to it being owned by irresponsible people who let dogs get out and kill other people dogs an attack nieghbors. You created a 75lb gamebred pitbull that is more of a liability to public. that can't outperform a Malinois and is much uglier than an AKC Am Staff! So you can act like this great breeder but in reality, you created a dog that the public don't want and it isn't ever going to be financially viable to continue on with! You probably have 200k invested and your ROI is negative! The best thing you could do for your family is admit you failed and start breeding french bulldogs!
