I do remember loving this as a kid, playing with my brothers. The sequel, however, is utterly dire.
Blasphemy!!! Fusion Frenzy was the closest thing to mario party we had on OG xbox... you little fibbers, this game is so much fun once you "git gud" 😂... I miss the old days of fun jank with unique flavors, lol
Maybe if this was Fusion Frenzy 2 it would make sense on this show.
This right here is correct. I can start up Fuzion Frenzy in 2023 and have a group around the TV at pretty much any family function. It isn't nostalgia, the game is legitimately fun. The second one was bad.

Triple Jump dropped the ball on this one. It's absolutely nostalgic from nearly every original Xbox player. Nowhere near the worst.
Nostalgia doesn't mean a game is good. If you're somebody like me, who never had this game as a kid, going into it now is absolute dog shit.

Yeah, an average score of 70 is about right for most games. And at the time many PlayStation fans purposely bad reviews of Xboxs title launch games because the console wars were getting super heated with Xbox being possible big competition.
@@DrownInLysergic I played it again last year with my friend and loved it. Nosalgia may not mean a game is good, but reviews do. 70% is considered an good game. Award winning? No. Good, yes.

It is kind of unfair the don't like it because its made for playing with your friends only. Uh, many games back then were made for playing with friends only. At that time party games were a big thing. The game made it very obvious this was not a single player game. Can't hate a game for being one thing just because you want it to be single player.

You had to be there, and have friends. A tall order, but an amazing party game for a bunch of poor kids. I remember only owning this halo 1, and 2. Never complained, mom loved it

If we've made it to Fuzion Frenzy, it's time to wrap the series up. Game is a treasure and Twisted System is the best mini game of all time...of all time. (P.S. don't wrap the series...that was a joke. This is my favorite series on RUclips).

Not being blinded by nostalgia, I can say this game looks awful. The mini-games are all too similar and chaotic, the visual style is dull as well. Not sure how people still see a great game here.
Because it is. The mini games are themed around the area so there will be some overlap, (honestly they got bad RNG with the waterfront. I think it's the weakest area save a couple specific minigames). The visual style was colorful and the characters had quite expressive personalities. My favorite was Dub.
Also, I have no nostalgia for this game. I played a demo of it when I was 5 on my halo disc... then it broke in like a week and I didn't touch it again until I saw I could get it for the Xbox 1, so I got it and my basically first impression was that it's a fantastic game.
Also of course it's chaotic, it's a party game made in 2002.

I've officially lived long enough to see my childhood favorite on WGE. I replayed this not that long ago because it was available on Xbox Gold, and it isn't as good as I remembered. It's nice to see how many others remember this game fondly though.

I got this game with gold (Whith little connection to it as a child) and not only did I love it, but my family did as well. Sister, Brother, Aunt, even my uncle (Who normally hates part games) gave it a spin.

I believe the PGR name came from it being a sequel of sorts to Metropolis Street Racer on the Dreamcast. Metropolis - Superman's city. Gotham - Batman's city.
PGR began on the Dreamcast as Metropolis Street Racer. When Microsoft got involved, the name had to be changed

@@DrownInLysergic I played it recently on Xbox 1 after playing the demo like twice as a kid and forgetting about it. No nostalgia, here, and it's still a solid game. Everyone in my family agrees to, seeing as they're the ones I played it with. In fact it became a tradition to play it every sunday for a while. Includnig my aunt and parents. Maybe you're just wrong?
Have no idea why this is on a worst games ever episodes considering it had high ratings at the time. 70% from Metacritic, 8.3 from Gamestop....etc. That said it did have some issues, especially with certain minigames. But it was for sure a game of its time. I had it and the second one. Played the crap out of it with my friend.
I'd say its not even "worst than most", more "an average game at most". That said if you want to play a worst game, definitely do Fusino Frenzy 2. It was trash.

I have quite the fond memories of this game. The spiral mini game and the sphere ones were our favorites. I don't see this game as worst ever.

This game wasn't too bad. It wasn't Mario party or anything, but it was a decent party game with friends. I think people that didn't like it were the ones that play like Ben.

Hey, I actually played this one. It was okay, I played it a good amount as a kid, on my stepmom's Xbox.
Remember it's not a bad game, it's worst then most...everyone has an opinion, a childhood favorite etc. And that's okay. But let's be honest are we not watching this show for the entertainment...are we not amused? Then the game itself, like a true gentleman comes second.

It is! I just checked, I was a Playstation kid growing up and then switched to the 360 once all my friends did just so we could play together, so I didn't quite catch the xbox launch titles, I'm curious now though.

I loved this game as a kid to show you how much I loved it , I didn’t even have the full game. I had a demo disc and thou the games never changed I played it over and over. I think it would of done better if he knew how to play. When your not winning you have to attack person winning not just hope to catch and saw he was confused on orbs. I know I did terrible my first time till I learned the mechanics. Wish they’d bring this back and multi platform since I have PlayStation now lol.

This is still a fun party game for game night. Memories of the good ole days when you actually had to practice in games and not have your hand held for every mediocre step with directions flashing and arrows pointing.
Many of the mini games in this are so much fun... You guys really wiffed on this one. My friends and I played Twisted System and many of those Roller-Ball games for hours.
Something about the extremely British way Ben says "This isn't a demo a'tall!" at 4:55 cracks me up.

Project Gotham Racing is the follow on from Metropolis Street Racer on Dreamcast.
I always assumed the name was a sly nod to 2 comic book cities... Metropolis and Gotham.

This game is awesome! This & Halo are the games I bought when I purcased my origianal Xbox! With the backwards compatibale program I still have this installed on my Series X and play regularly with friends! I absouletly shocked this is on a worst games list! Now Fuzion Frenzy 2 on the other hand? We don't talk about that one. . .

Awful selection for Worst Games, possibly your worst pick ever. IGN gave it a 8.3 & EVERY original xbox owner loved this game for local multiplayer.

The game reviews were solid, the majority of comments section agree it was a solid game, and the people critizizing it A- had 1 perosn play against 3 AI in a PARTY game, B- Didn't read any instructions, and C- litteraly complained it took skill.
I perosnally only discoverd it on Xbox one recently, I think I played the demo on an old halo disc when I was 7 or something, but I played it like twice then went back to halo without giving it too much attention (While I think the game is solid... it isnt halo). Years later I play it on xbox with other people (shocker I know) and I thought, "Damn this is a good game, I wonder if anyone agrees" It turns out... Yeah, a lot do.
I remember absolutely loving this game back in the day but I only played it as part of my 5 free weekly rentals working at Blockbuster so I'm kinda biased.🤷🏼♂️

Makes sense to me that it’s in WGE when compared to other party games like the Mario Party series. You all are entitled to your fond opinions of it, just as I am entitled to side with Peter and Ben on this one. I thought this game was definitely in the “worst than most” category outside of the absolute rubbish generic party games that plagued the Wii. You can agree or disagree, but there were definitely better party games at the time in my opinion.
