Terrific video, and I agree 100% with you. I didn't upgrade my FRENCH CONNECTION Aussie DVD due to the blu-ray mastering issues. Ban censorship!!! 🚫

Yeah I still have Dad’s French Connection DVD on the shelf but this seemed like the best opportunity to get the blu-ray given the circumstances

I am so thankful i have the Blu-ray of both of the movies that i purchased a year and a half ago. Hollywood has a reputation in this day and age of censoring classic movies out of political correctness. I am a black man and have no problem with that scene in the movie. Leave it the way it was. You remember the movie ET where flashlights were added to replace the fire arms? Buy the disk people!!

At least Spielberg wised up and put the 2002 version into obscurity.
I don't know if MASH is still in print, but copies of that are still available. That one is also a Fox film with attitudes that can be seen as dated. Think the prank on Hot Lips in the shower.
Adventures in Babysitting was another streaming example where the two F words were replaced with "fool". The Blu-ray is still the uncut version and is readily available.

Great video. Does this affect people who have purchased a digital copy on iTunes as well? Or is it just if you go to stream from a platform directly?

I’ve heard that it does affect some digital copies of the film, definitely an iTunes copy but I would assume that it would affect a digital copy from a standard blu-ray release as well

This Movie is on many Servers, so like PM the Movie won't change unless it's replaced with the Censored Version!

As for Disney, nowadays they have an obsession with making live action remakes of their beloved classic animated movies so as to appeal to “Modern Audiences”. How long before they yeet the animated versions for “tax write offs”? There seems to be a trend in Hollywood where they are letting movies over 30 years just fade away. Makes you wonder.

Hope they leave the Dam Busters alone - the dog`s name is not good.

The name makes sense given historical contexts but yeah it’s not the most pc name in modern standards. If Disney had their hands on the film they’d probably attempt to remove the name but I feel like it’d be harder given how prominent the dog is in the film. In contrast to The French Connection, Disney removed the scene where he says the racial slur because it was only in the one scene - though as a preservation of both history and art they shouldn’t have removed the scene at all.
